Little more fit, finish and figuring things out in between rain storms. Wanted to get the front on. Lost my battery tray somewhere in the shed, lol. I dont have the correct hole in the block for the belt guard so I have to get something there worked out. No big deal. I have plenty of duct tape. As she sits today......

A friend of mine asked me to come over and plow her rather large garden. I’m really busy right now, BUT not too busy for some seat time on GhostRider with a Brinly in tow! I gave a shout out to my local circle buddies and Dan @Achto decided to bring out his newly restored Raider. We had a great time turning earth! I had added the front wheel weights and decided to plow with the Punisher which may have been a little ambitious given the damp soil and plowing uphill one direction! However, GhostRider handled it fine. spun a little here and there but —MAN—did it feel good to be back in the saddle! So thankful to Dan for coming out and playing in the dirt with me, we finished just ahead of the rain. Can’t wait to do more plowing with all my plowing buddies. Can I just say here once again—“I REALLY ENJOY PLOWING!”? Dan’s creation not only looks amazing—It plows really well. Soil conditions weren’t great and we were up against some rain moving in but we still had a great time. Thanks Dan for the seat time! Dan gave me an opportunity to drive it last fall at Jim’s in its original state. We were having charging issues and I made it about 10 Feet before it ran out of battery! So, I was excited when Dan handed me the reins today and said take it for a couple of laps. The video doesn’t do the exhaust justice. It really has a cool sound and the fit and finish makes it feel like a brand new machine. Dan had the plow preadjusted and I don’t think he even turned the handle after making a round. The hydraulic lift handle is in a very convenient spot and the only thing that was stretch for me was the stirrups. However, Dan has longer legs than mine and it suits him just perfect. This tractor is a 10 and once again proves that ‘s when properly setup make fine plow mules! Even though we didn’t get much time to talk, I always enjoy hanging with my local circle buddies. Great friends—and great times!

Well, I've started going through my truck to see what all I have. Lots of goodies in totes and boxes. A lot of this will come to the Big Show. I do want to keep the H-5 headlights though along with some other items. Even got never mounted rear axle bracket and sleeve hitch made by Lowell. One pic shows Emory's push mower. Rain stopped me for the night.

What do you do after you spend a few months getting a tractor back into shape? You put it to work!! Today was the day to get it's new coveralls dirty!! @PeacemakerJack found some land that needed to be turned & I was more than willing to help. Of course it didn't happen with out pictures. I'm quite happy with the performance of this machine. The soil conditions were not terrible but the very damp clay was not the easiest to pull the plow through. It sure made the exhaust bark a little. @bmsgaffer This is the fan I am hoping to use. I have an oil filter wrench that I am turning down for a hub to fit inside the fan. Going to cut out the center of the fan so the fan slides over the pulley snout and then I will epoxy the “hub” inside the fan to make it all one piece. The bolt will go through the center and rest on the pulley snout like the original. Crossing my fingers

Front seemed to stick pretty good, no problem steering or climbing out of a furrow. Could use a little more weight on the left rear, but I will soon have that covered. I was thinking that pulling a double 16" trailer plow might be worth paying to see. But if it only takes a 12" plow to impress Tom, that should be easy enough.

I ain't sceerd!! Actually looking forward to trying a 12" behind it.

You got it buddy! Threw in a couple extra pics just for drill. So Jason comes in to the tent and dumps a box full of parts out. I first thought he was giving up the hobby was bored and was gonna play with one of his kids old erector sets.Turns out he threw together a nice little drag harrow. My wife Cindy and one of our Iowa bros had a front row seat! Personally i think it came out so nice cause he put it together in such good company ( that nice 1067 to his back)!

Dan’s Raider is definitely a great plow tractor. @Rp.wh Ryan (another local circle buddy) also has one just about like it ‘Cept with manual lift. It will be fun plowing with both those tractors out in the field! Time to start looking for more 12” Brinly’s

So I have a leg injury that’s keeping me outa work for a few days and out of a tractor seat . Had to get my son to get one of my tractors into mowing mode yesterday and today my 76 year old father is mowing my yard while I watch. He tags along to the WH Show with me but has no interest, just love going on “adventures”. His mower at home is a JD STX38, one of the littlest ride ons JD makes. This is his first time ever driving one of my Wheel Horses.

I took apart the distributor, and it turns out the little ground wire next to the magneto was completely destroyed, as in there was one little copper strand still connected. I'll have to solder the connection back together, clean up the points and verify the gap, and hopefully that fixes it. Hopefully tomorrow I'll take some photos of the tractor for reference.

They seem to be attracted to fresh green currency... The problem I have using that bait is I never seem to get it back..

My two sons treated their Mother and my four Grandsons treated their mothers to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse. I tagged along and took pictures.

If your Honey ends up wanting one, make sure you let her pick the one that suits her. Kelli loves her Big D—actually cut lawn with it on Mother’s Day. I told her I would be happy to do it and she said she wanted to enjoy the fresh air. I had built her a tractor years ago with a hand hydro. She never felt comfortable on it and said that she wanted a foot control. Set her up with that and power steering and she actually will tell me periodically that she wants to cut the lawn! Prolly just got soft... from all that time in Hawaii.

Use a long extension bar and insert thru one side... make it bottom against the opposite side bearing and tap the bearing out with small hammer. Flip over dnad do the same for other side. To install, just lightly tap in place with a wood mallet of 2x4 blockk.

I got released to stop wearing my walking boot Friday so I’m fully back on 2 feet. Now that I’m able to do things one of the Patio and outside shop lights will get motion sensors installed this weekend. Steve I still work for a living (but not for much longer). So the majority of my shop time seems to fall after dark.

Jim, I just saw this. My prayers and I am glad you are healing. After 60...good lighting is essential...and what are you doing out of bed after dark???

Hopefully you can find more parts to at least one of the two attachments... or better yet, the rest of both of them!

Luckily for me the only one I would have to fight to get on a horse is her. I'm actually kind of hoping she tries to take one of them over so I can use that for a legitimate excuse to go get another one. But..... Yeah, it would have to be substantially smaller than a b or c series. I don't have an adjustable seat on this tractor but I think even if it was all the way forward she would still need blocks on the pedals to reach right. Her words. Not mine.

This is the info that will be on the data decal on the engine Kohler M10S-461521 up to engine S/N 1919902922 should have 3 amp charging system Kohler M10S-461521 engine S/N 1919902923 and up should have 15 amp charging system If you are jumping from the battery cable side of the solenoid to the small solenoid terminal and it clicks and the starter motor runs both the solenoid and starter are OK (You are bypassing the tractor wiring) If you are jumping from the battery cable side of the solenoid to the large starter cable side of the solenoid and the motor runs the starter motor is OK (You are bypassing the solenoid and tractor wiring) Check the engine oil level. You have a switch in the engine that if working properly will prevent the start circuit from operating if the oil is low. Do not try to remove that switch until you get the instructions for doing so. It can be easily broken. There is a recommendation that the switch be removed and cleaned as a regular service. It is a float system with a magnet and filings from engine wear collect on the magnet and prevent it from working. Garry

Have a digital ohmmeter? Remove all the wires from the coil. A Measure the resistance between the small terminal on the left to the spark plug wire terminal. Record reading B Measure the resistance between the small terminal on the right to the spark plug wire terminal. Record reading There should be only a small difference in the readings. If the left terminal gives the highest resistance reading that is the (+) side. If it gives the lowest reading it is the (-) side. Once you think you have it C Measure the resistance between the (+) terminal and the (-) terminal and record. D Measure the resistance between the (-) terminal and the spark plug terminal and record. E Measure the resistance between the (+) terminal and the spark plug terminal. The reading should equal C and D added together. Garry

After I got an infection from a tick bite a couple of years ago, we found a spray for clothing containing permethrin that supposedly kills ticks that come in contact with it. As I remember, you spray the clothing and let it dry before wearing. The treatment is supposed to last through a few washings. Checking on line, it looks like there are a couple of brands of the stuff.

I'm going to start with what I'm used to, I guess. I was injured in Iraq in 2010, so my pain scale is skewed. I have most joint pain. Mostly from from broken vertebrae, messed up knee, etc. Last Tuesday, I found the tick and properly removed it. I really didn't think about it until Friday. I'm not a "scratcher" if I know I what caused it, so I know I didn't irritate it. Friday, I took a prospective buyer all over my property, up and down hills. Friday night, I baked pork chops since that was the only meat left in that freezer. Before midnight, I was sure I had food poisoning or the worst case of the flu ever. I was in an air conditioned room, on the floor, turning the fan on and off, depending on whether I was hot or cold that minute, sweating the whole time. That continued until Sunday morning when I knew I had to get back to go to work at 1pm Sunday after a 4 hour drive. I can't begin to tell you how many times I stopped. But, I can say it wasn't enough. Anyway, by Monday at 8am, my math says I drank 2 gallons of Gatorade and a gallon of Pedialyte. At 8am, I was waiting at the door of the VA clinic and by 9am, I felt human again. I had a prescription for antibiotics and instructions for everything else. I hope that's a good enough idea of how fast things happened. I know I sent the wife a picture on Friday night, but it's lost in cyberspace.

Ed, I hope you don't have residual effects from it. You're probably one of the first to get diagnosed.

Good luck Posi... been there. I also spend a great deal of time in tick country and got nailed once. Yup...lyme's and not the East Lyme as in the town in CT Sparkeye. Had the telltale bullseye and went to the "up north" doc where I got bit and he right off knew what the deal was as he had seen it plenty. He says we caught this real early so the cure was easy. Thats the key he says ...catching it early. I never got sick or anything but the worst part was no alcohol for the eternity I was on the meds! Get well soon!

The last time my wife drove a I was gathering up rocks and stones from the yard and putting them in a dump cart. Wife asked what I was going to do with them and told her I would dump them at the edge of the small creek that runs through our property. She wanted to drive the 953 so I talked her through backing up the dump cart and pulling the handle. She did great, then she looked forward without shifting into a forward gear and let the clutch out for a second. The cart and rear tires were in the creek, she shut it off and climbed over the hood insinuating I had let her do that intentionally. I started it up and it drove right out, none the worse for the wear. Wish I had a camera with me!

Watch out for those...roc... s...never mind.... my wife drove mine one time...mower deck running ....ran up on a stump...it sat there running... she got off and said she didn't want to mow anymore.....went to the house....

@Sparky yes, definitely will be installing some motion triggered lights. @Tractor boy While Im laid up, I really need the carb job/tune-up finished on my C-160. My right foot may be injuries, but with the C-160,s large Motion Control lever on the right side of the console I could be mobile again. I could drive my WH all around the neighbor hood and practice being retired around here
