Hello y'all I just purchased my last mower! Found this 414-8 on craigslist and she is a beaut! All I had to do was free up the choke cable and clean the carb and ready mow! This machine has been taken very good care of . I am looking for other attachments for my tractor specifically a snow blade .

I've heard that you can make a small fortune with pulling tractors; all you need to do is start with a BIG fortune and it will become small in no time.

Brought home a 69 Raider 10/6 survivor. And a 61 round hood, pulled out from the weeds.

I got this RJ today. Not the original motor, but I got a k91 that will go on it. Only thing I'm confused on is the serial number. I slightly cleaned the original tag off and can make out the model and serial number. Ill get a better picture of the tag when i take it apart. The tag says model RJ58 serial #21033. But according to the serial number info recorded in the manual section. It does not pan out with the 58 numbers, it would fall into the 59 numbers. So were the rj59 tractors still tagged as a 58? Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t know if harbor freight has anything that good. Those fans are the best. Not cheap either. Maybe I could get a couple of these.

Sunshine and 81 degrees here today. Time to take the snow blowers and plows to their Summer storage and bring home the mowers and tiller.

Well they are calling for up to an inch of ice here so I finally quit procrastinating and set up house to connect to the Generator I have had for over a year and a half. Side benefit that I had to mount the restored deck on the restored C160 8 speed:-) It getting colder by the minute but it warms me to look at the beast. Now if Spring would ever get here I could try the combo out. Since I finally spent half the afternoon setting up the generator the storm is almost certain to skirt past us or be a non issue. Murphy must be a huge fan of mine:-)

Today since it was rather decent weather to try and clean up the property line behind the house, it's running over with virginia creeper (vines) and honey suckle(wife is super allergic when it blooms) so I began with a chainsaw cutting what I could get to then using the eMax to push it back into the "jungle" it will also help while mowing along there, FYI most of what you see in the pics was actually hanging in the trees as a couple black walnuts are also coming down tired of mowing them every fall (rough on the blades as well as the acid from the hulls ain't good on the paint), Jeff.

Cab off, two stage off, updated seat mount, spreader on fertilizer done & off, wagon on and hauled firewood plus sticks complete, tiller on tilling done, snowplow did some winter repairs, all in a days work. Tomorrow maybe tiller off, snowplow off, loader on, mower deck on. These seasonal changeovers are getting to be too much for this geezer.

Hey Richie, can you turn on the big fan and point it towards Wisconsin? We could use some of that warm weather...

I have posted photos of my mower deck rack before but thought I would do it again. It uses a HF moving dolly and dimensional lumber. The HF casters aren't that good but 99% of the time it is just sitting. It allows me to store the deck off season in a smaller footprint. The nice part is that I can easily clean and paint the underside with access to the blades. To swing the deck up I lay it on top of the deck and use the "feet" to steady the back of the deck.swing it up.

I had picked up an old Agrifab trailer last fall and used it a bit. I put new tires on it then and today I made up some wooden brackets to hold the rear gate. My honey wire brushed it around the reargate area and threw a couple quick coats of Orange on. Of course I had to test it out a little. Moved a load of sand/gravel fill from one area of the yard to fill a hole in somewhere else. This trailer has been black in some places and red and the red you see is brushed on garbage. It will eventually be all orange.

Horses are better anyway - they never argue or make you feel guilty! At least until you start wanting another just two weeks after buying the last one.

we all know that the Ponds were vert thrifty. You wouldn't expect them to throw out perfectly good tags would you? Lots of folks say they have never seen an RJ-59 because they were all tagged as '58. Heck, lots of "63 models have 62 as the first numbers of their serial numbers.

You missed it, already been there, done that Jeff.

Spent a few minutes fiddlin' with the governor and adjusting the carb on the B. It wasn't getting full RPM after I cleaned it out the other day. Thanks to @wallfish for posting a link to the manual for my K181 a while back to help someone else out. Much better now....

Beautiful scenery Eric. Nice trailer too. Going to have to down mine soon to weld a new floor in it. As for weather, sweating bullets here. 92* outside of work. Heading to the house to finish welding up my driveway gate.

Looks good Eric! Nice to see your yard clear of snow while ours is loading up as I type with the white stuff. As you know, we use our little trailer all the time. Having fun while getting work done— time!

Check the belt of course. With that OK, check the oil level in the transmission, then run the engine at least five minutes before attempting to move, sometimes it takes a while to pressure up.

An Eaton 1100 will push easy and you should hear what sounds like steel balls rolling around as the pump turns while pushing.

There are manuals on here for the 418-A that is basically the same operations wise. Other than the wiring(417 has points, 418 is magneto) and the engine, same basic machine. May want to check the motion linkage, belt may be burnt and not turning the trans pulley, idler pulley bad or could not be tensioning the belt properly, low fluid, plugged hydro filter. There’s a start. Eaton 1100’s are very strong hydros. Hopefully its something simple.

The 418-C I bought last fall was DOA and the PO gave up on it. The drive belt idler had fallen apart and eaten the drive belt. Only took a few minutes to get it back in action.

Not knowing what you have to work with, but I have a small chain hoist mounted to the rafters of my building. I take the mule drive belt loose then hook into the mule drive and raise the front of the machine high enough to roll the deck out the front. I then lower the tractor, push it back and hook the hoist to the front of the deck and use it stand the deck on end for cleaning. Sure made this job a lot easer.

Got the B80 out of the winter hibernation position in the workshop. Started right up. It was not willing to idle down so I commenced to poking around and discovered the governor to be somewhat crapped up. Removed the arm. Clean. Scrape. Degrease. Install. It works! Sweeet.
