I recently upgraded my original wheelhorse 48 inch snow plow with a Warn ProVantage 54 inch snow plow. Due to the increased weight from the warn snow plow, the hand lift mechanism became very tiring. I decided to fabricate a snow plow lift off the front of the tractor with a linear actuator to mechanically lift the snow plow with the press of a button. The pictures below show the finished product. Two days ago I put it to the test when a nor'easter dumped a foot of snow and the tractor/ plow setup worked perfectly.

Original owner died 12 yrs ago... wife had in a cardboard box. I gave her fair money for it (not into ripping off anybody... espescially little old ladies) . 1970 Ruger 3 screw small frame Blackhawk in .357 mag. Its essentially a Colt Single Action Army with a few mods... coil spring versus leaf... frame mounted firing pin... "real" sights. Shoots real nice... only wish it had the 6" bbl versus 4 5/8ths... John Wayne approved! Shoots holes in propane tanks No Prob ! Tony

It seems like that design is found a niche and is being made by a few manufacturers. I do know that when Allis was developing the G, John Deere was also developing a similar design, but scrapped the idea before it went into production. http://thinkoggun.com/ https://www.tuff-bilt.com/tractors.html https://www.tilmor.com/en-us/products/33/tilmor-tractor The market seems to be more international, but probably will be marketed here also. The Tilmor tractor is made by the same guys who make the Ventrac tractors, and may have some ties to Steiner tractors.

Got a new seat cover and foam pad for my L107 today from Bob Ellison. Beautiful workmanship...but there is a problem. i am not sure I want to install it. My father bought her new in 1967 and she has been busy ever since. She is my year round chore tractor and frankly my britches are not always that clean when I sit on her. This cover is so nice I am not sure I want to get it dirty. The other half was very impressed, she made a replacement cover about 20-25 year ago (not nearly as nice) but is is coming apart and more brown than white.

Here's the deal Giddy... yer always supposed to put it for sale here for that ungodly price so then we can wonder if your on crack for asking that price and bust yer stones some more! They were just wondering if you were on crack for building such a contraption! Truth be told your Ebay ad might have made my "stupid things you see on CL" thread!

"Geez, yada, yada, yada....." post #79 was my attempt at humor. I don't know why I try because it never fares well. This has been a public service announcement.

If you clamp a piece of heavy steel to the item to be removed, ground an arc welder to the shaft it is on and burn a few rods at high amperage the current passing through the rust will cause it to heat (poor electrical conductivity). The rust will become powder and you can use some paraffin to aid the removal.

I personally think Bob will be very pleased with your appreciation of his magnificent work on the seat he made for you. I also think that the seat cover has a purpose, use it with joy and thankfulness for its intended reason. In other words, enjoy it.

Had some nice weather and no overtime today so I thought I'd start a little yard reclaim job. NYSDOT has been trying for years to put in an extra lane during the winter. This year has been the worst in the 30 yrs I've lived here. I know it may snow again so I didn't get too carried away with the C-160. Just made 1 pass. No car parts or cans were found so that's surprising! I'll probably catch hell for dozing on their property. NOTICE MY "NICE " STREET! This is a major highway and it hasn't been paved since I've been here!

Had a look in my box of carb parts and found a new needle and seat and the gaskits. All back together now and ready to fit in the morning

I just found this thread-that machine turned out great! Here is a pic of mine-it's a good "10-footer", but I was using it to work at the time so I just did a quick clean up and paint. Our neighbor bought it new, and I bought it from his estate back in 2008. That B & S 12hp has tons of torque!!!

So Caleb finished the day strong with a couple more music performances... Sang in a mixed trio and a male quartet... All in all a pretty busy day for him. He made a new friend in his favorite competitor, Jordan. They were in three events together and had time to talk before and after competing. The medals were handed out for athletics tonight and Caleb received a first place for the 400 meter run and a third place for the physical fitness category. He is officially done with competition, now he has to wait for the afternoon awards program tomorrow to see how he did in his speech and music categories...

Hey all! So, I got a Work Horse GT-1100 this past year, and she's relatively clean, but the motor smoked like a chimney. I also had a charger 12 that needed some love, so I decided to use its parts towards other projects. I am taking the k301 that was on the Charger and putting it on the GT-1100. I'm going to have to do some wiring, add a choke cable, re route the exhaust, and the main hurdle right now, is the charger was a hydro, and I need the drive pulley for an 8 speed, the Briggs is a 1" shaft motor so I couldnt steal the pulley from that. Toro wants $102, which is absolutley obnoxious. If anybody knows the pulley dimensions, or locally would like to sell me one cheap, it would be highly appreciated! Here's it mocked up in place! I'm not sure whether I want to paint the motor black or keep it red.

Gotta love Michigan weather! Still have snow in the shade areas even though we are having beautiful sunny warm (relatively) days. Sun's been cooking the building eaves so the wasps wake up to...what...SNOW...!!! Little fellow didn't last too long...Nor did his buddies...

Easy enough but, drill, stop, drill, stop. Just a second or so on the drill bit. Keep clearing the chips out. Of course keep some thrust washers (http://qbcbearings.com/BuyRFQ/ThrustB_Washer_SL_SB_I.php) handy to minimize wheel lateral movement.

Never thought of that. I have repaired a few that this would have been a better fix.

Sounds like you have narrowed it down to a single culprit, quick inexpensive fix too.

Sorry Terry, busy bee, any how yes those ARE 7" wide you measured correctly from bead to bead, second they do show some extra offset, third you can put the "Deestone" 10.50 AGs on those wheels without much bulging since they run 9.50 wide (check out my "New Shoes" thread for some more insight), Jeff.

My granddaughter taught me most of what I know about computers! The Sundstrands on a "D" are a bit more complicated than others only because of their location. There are a lot of posts on this site about "D" transmissions and I would urge you to read up on them a little first. When you do start working start a new post with specific questions and pictures of anything that is not clear to you.

First of all, thank you to all the replies of information. I am afraid of this hydraulic issue as I have never worked on the internals of them. Over the years I have heard of many horror stories. The other thing is I am not a computer guy so trying to get this information off the computer is going to take the kids. I have a couple of projects in front of the D200 so it will give me time to get the young ones to help me out.

I went down to the shop to get pictures of the parking brake but discovered I didn't have one. It won't be hard to do. I changed the brake band and will have to make a brake lever and modify the brake rod a little. Before After

So since the decals are on I can call this done. Some areas of paint did not come out as well as I would have liked but oh well. As they say good enough for the women we hang out with & looks good from Berlin Dan! In a way I'm glad the paint ain't the best as now I can work it a little & welcome kids climbing on it and not fret about getting scratched. Thanks goes out to some who offered parts & advice. Steve @stevasaurus Transmissions thoughts & advice Lowell @wheelhorseman Transmission parts & show tie rods Tom @Shynon headlight bucket & hood latch & advice Dan @Achto custom battery cables & great idea for battery tray bracket & probably something else I forgot about Bob @Racinbob cheese & sausage dash & transmission parts Terry @Vinylguy decals Linc @A-Z Tractor steering wheel Bob @rmaynard lug bolt kit Probably others like the fellow member who sold me the fronts... I can't for the love of God remember who he was! but thank you. Other suppliers McMaster Carr - hardware Ace - paint & hardware Mills Fleet Farm - seat & exhaust.& hardware TSC - Fluids, bearings & hardware Pat's Small Engine Plus - cables & engine parts http://www.psep.biz/index.htm ebay - lots of little crap I was going to list about how much $$ I had into this but though best not to just in case she is looking over my shoulder...lets just call it a labor of love for one's first horse of 30 years and is priceless. Will try and follow up with some what not to dos or things I should have done right the first time!
