21 pointsFinal update until later today. Santa just finished his work. Emory's surprise is ready (still need to install cables for choke and throttle, wire lights, and fix battery tie down and tray). Had to install a set of Road Runner graphics since that is its given name. Whew, I'm pooped!
-
20 pointsWell, Emory was very excited with his lawn ranger shirt, Wheel Horse hat, Wheel Horse Story book, but couldn't figure out why he got a shirt with my tractor on it! Well, he danced around the tree and finally found his keys. Still couldn't believe it might be something for him. He was actually speechless when he saw Road Runner. Here are a few pics, the wife photo bombed my video, so not sure it'll get posted. Will try to post more later tonight or tomorrow.

9 pointsSome of my favorite Christmas gifts were ones I bought for my wife about 16 years ago. She didn't use at the time and was accustomed to seeing packages with auto parts, tractor parts and things like that show up at the door. I had ordered several collectibles that I was sure my wife was going to love, but they never arrived prior to Christmas! I was very frustrated. Christmas morning arrived and we began exchanging gifts and it became very clear why none of the packages had been seen. My wife was snagging the boxes and gift wrapped each one. Little did she know she was wrapping her own gifts. Another memory has nothing to do with a gift and goes back about twenty years. Our church in Fort Pierce , Florida was located adjacent to a six lane divided highway. Each year we had a living Nativity featuring live animals. We were having a dress rehears and one of the lambs decided to wander off onto the highway. There we were, five shepherds in full costume running out into traffic chasing a lamb. The fellow who caught it put it across his shoulders and was walking back when a reporter stopped in the middle of the already backed up traffic and took a picture which was on page one, top center of the next day's paper. That year was the best turnout we had ever experienced.

9 pointsI received some nice cloths, a new pair of cold weather bibs, and this nice set of tumblers. Almost forgot, this present came a little early.

9 pointsGot a wireless small engine tach, Amazon Fire tablet, lined jeans and a Woody Wood Pecker that laughs! I had a Bugs Bunny and a Woody puppet when I was about 6. They were my favorites. My sister found the NOS Bugs last year and got it for my birthday. She's been trying to find Woody. She got this at Pet Smart. Actually a dog toy but who cares. The Spirit of Woody lives on! Plus seat heater for the work van, new shop vac (blew up the old one. It must have had a Tecky! ) Sabres mug and LGTM subscription

9 pointsMerry Christmas to all. I pray and hope each and every one of you have a great Christmas and have time to spend it with the family. I also asked that we remember those you can't be with their families this Christmas, whether it be military service, police or fire departments, or nurses, doctors and hospital staff who have to work during the holidays.

9 pointsWow...Merry Christmas Emory! I think I would be more excited just being able to give it to him than he would be getting it. I wouldn't be able to sleep. I dont know how you haven't slipped up. Great job dad! A gift to remember for both, that is for sure.

7 pointsA man walks into a restaurant with a full-grown ostrich behind him. As he sits, the waitress comes over and asks for their orders. The man says, “I’ll have a hamburger, fries and a coke,” and turns to the ostrich, “What’s yours?” “I’ll have the same,” says the ostrich. A short time later the waitress returns with the order. “That will be $6.40 please,” and the man reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change for payment. The next day, the man and the ostrich come again and the man says, “I’ll have a hamburger, fries and a coke,” and the ostrich says, “I’ll have the same.” Once again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change. This becomes a routine until late one evening, the two enter again. “The usual?” asks the waitress. “No, this is Friday night, so I will have a steak, baked potato and salad,” says the man, “same for me,” says the ostrich. A short time later the waitress comes with the order and says, “That will be $12.62.” Once again the man pulls exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table. The waitress can’t hold back her curiosity any longer. “Excuse me, sir. How do you manage to always come up with the exact change out of your pocket every time?” “Well,” says the man, “several years ago I was cleaning the attic and I found an old lamp. When I rubbed it a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes. My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there.” “That’s brilliant!” says the waitress. “Most people would wish for a million dollars or something, but you’ll always be as rich as you want for as long as you live!” “That’s right. Whether it’s a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there,” says the man. The waitress asks, “One other thing, sir, what’s with the ostrich?” The man sighs, pauses, and answers, “My second wish was for a tall chick with long legs who agrees with everything I say.”

7 pointsThanks for all of the great responses! I had to share our journey with everyone. So many of you I know personally and have shared our struggles. Emory is really a great kid. His resilience and drive to do whatever he wants are really an inspiration. Even with limited mobility in his right hand, there's nothing he won't attempt. I'm very proud of him and love our time together. Wheel Horses have become an excellent way for us to spend time together and a great source of enjoyment for us both. Merry Christmas to all of our Wheel Horse family! I'll post a video when it warms enough for Emory to take his first ride.

7 pointsThis year I had a very wheel horse Christmas Most of my gifts this year had to do with wheel horses. Here is a picture of my new wh treasures. Can’t wait to read the wheel horse story.

7 pointsI'm wearing the only Christmas present I've gotten so far...company I work for got all us drivers a pair of insulated fire resistant bibs with the company logo on the pocket for Christmas this year And the water leak was an easy fix...there was a drain valve on the cold side under the shower that mysteriously opened itself somehow during the night...closed it and all is good now

6 pointsHey gang! I’d like to start a thread here for your favorite Christmas presents from this Christmas either received or given. It doesn’t have to be tractor related. We know Emory probably wins the prize for the coolest present! However, I’d like to see what other items you guys got to open or watch those who you love open... I’d like to see some of the “loot”! Stuff that mom and dad got for me. I borrowed dad’s suction gun for the last time on thursday of last week to suck the remaining fuel out of the 418-C. He decided it was time for me to have my own!

6 pointsI love homemade gifts from my kiddos... Disregard my facial expression! Apparently someone needs his coffee! Caleb is excited to get the Indiana Jones set in Blue Ray Zach is tired of having to use his brothers Legos and now he has his own. We got him the classic set so he can build whatever he likes. Judge loves games and is stoked to get mancala. Claudia is excited to get a Journal Bible. It has lots of room around the Biblical text to record notes. My big gift but really for the family is a surround sound bar. Indy should sound pretty cool through this... my personal favorite gift was just spending this great day with they people I love the most!
