20 pointsI guess its an 87 or 88 judging by no "Toro" but yet a Magnum motor... Its rough... is missing parts and some of the wires where cut off for copper scrap. I missed out on getting deck... it was already crushed. Paid $100 to scrapper... Ill get it running as it is and see if I scored a good motor... transaxle didnt have any water and shifts so im already ahead with that. Tony

11 pointsWell said! All the government research projects are being funded by special interests. Granite counter tops give off radon gas according to a study funded by DoPont, makers of Corian counter tops. However, I know that chocolate is a health food; don't try to change my mind there!

9 pointsGood save --- and buy! A suggestion - I just finished an '84 314-8 in similar condition, tho I did get a nice deck, for $150. When I went to looking at that rats nest of wiring with the night mare of safety features, I quickly decided to rip it all out and go back with just the necessary wires to make it go - tho I did include the lights. With your wires already missing consider doing this to yours. In spite of the pitiful looking horse I brought home, after some elbow grease (a goodly bit!!) some fresh paint AND the icing on the cake, some of Terrys decals! the dern thing looks GOOD!!

7 pointsUnfortunately a lot of the California mindset is spilling over into neighboring states instead of into the Pacific. California is a state that has changed quite a bit since the Ronald Reagan era. It's scares me to think how many electoral votes they have. ooops I fixed it.

6 pointsTHANK YOU EVERYONE I am 720 months old today going out with the wife for a quite night of dining and a movie Brian

5 pointsPlease don't get started on Radon testing. Years ago trying to sell a house during the Big Hoobie - Doodie scare about radon. Had to have the house tested , Kept getting positive/ negative results from those little canisters thingies. Finally had to pay for some Big A-- test. No Radon. Now if we were discussing lead paint problems that would be different. I am sure that a lot of us would agree that @Big_Red_Fred probably snacked on lead paint chips when he was in diapers .

5 pointsThe 854 hood never had a bump for the spark plug. This may have been done so the plug could be changed with out taking the hood off. It is easy to make a bump in the sheet metal like this with a press and the correct tooling. If you would put it in a press you could press it back to were it was the rib might be hard to make correct again.

4 pointsDang...is that a 3 some. The shirt is Buckrancher's brainstorm...pretty cool!!! There is a thread (some years ago) where I fell out of a tree and fractured a few bones...I was laid up for 4 weeks in the hospital...and a few months of therapy. The guys here on Red Square kept me going, but once the prayers end as you heal...the fun starts now that all know you are OK. I was never an instructor for jumping out of airplanes, but I really think that when I fell off the ladder...that training of knowing how to fall may have saved my life. Just so you know...I have taken off in a small airplane 5 times...I have yet to land in one. Brian is one of the best friends that I have here on Red Square. Brian, I will be watching "The Giant Claw" tonight in your honer (sp) . Can't wait to see that HO train lifted up by Big Bird.

4 pointsJust to say, in 1981 i was on my way home from Korea, i landed in Oakland on other side of Airport, a Mooney got in my Face with intentions of telling me about soldiers killing women & children & it was lights out for him, Dang Sissys, i pulled my duffle bag up across my body & Double Timed across Airport Like a 520H on Alcohol, Cali Bodys were flying, had Security chasing me in a Golf Cart, never caught me, barely made my Flight to Pittsburgh but i had that overwhelming felling of Victory ! I plowed them Pu%%ys over and laughed all the way Home ! Now i'm Saying Bad words ! Stop Smiling Richard & Jim !

4 pointsGot a couple hours in tonight. Probably won't get to work until next week now. The rest of the week is nuts. Emory has a dr appointment at UVA Friday and I'm going to drop by and see @oldredrider while we're up there. Christmas parade Sat. night. Assembled a little - temporarily bolted on the fenders and floorboards. I also fabbed up a set of adjustable tie rods - got less than $25 in the set.

3 pointsI think it for gloves. Woman had gloves with buttons just like the shoes. It being that small it's easier for the hand to hold. This is my thoughts. https://www.google.com/search?biw=360&bih=270&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=aJQgWpDLMcfbmQHHrpSoDg&q=women+button+glove+hook+vintage&oq=woman+botton+glove+hook+vintage&gs_l=mobile-gws-img.1.0.30i10k1.10798.14162.0.16017.7.7.0.0.0.0.280.1273.0j5j2.7.0....0...1c.1.64.mobile-gws-img..0.6.991....0.CxvBKd3T2uY#imgrc=3OWMlfFvxRllBM:

3 points4" OD for the 8-speed transmission Original 7451 replacement is Napa 7-05218 For a replacement with a better ball bearing Napa 7-05485. It is also available from Toro as 99-5678 but Toro does not list it as a replacement for the 7451. Garry

3 pointsHood holes and cracks are tig'ed + Pile-O-Parts are almost all stripped and ready for primer. . . . wheelhorseman steered me to the shift boot I needed / ordered = Thanks Still waiting for a reply from the decal guy. . . . Contacted via website and PM here Test sprayed the paint I bought at the o'le tractor supply store, and it looks pretty good They had only 3 reds to choose from, so I went with Van Sickle Oil Base Gloss Tractor, Equipment and Industrial Enamel Paint with rust arrestor in "Gloss Case IH Red 455 70"

3 pointsI finally scored on this one today. I watched him all fall and when the archery season opened , I didn't see him for nearly six weeks. He finally showed up on the next to last day of the archery season, but although I watched him all day, I could not get a good standing shot within range of the bow. So, I had to wait for the rifle season and he showed up today and gave me a 150 yard neck shot. And yes the horse hauled in the deere.

3 pointsIt's pretty obvious......these folks rule a country they don't live in! Back in 2011, I was part of a mining tour hosting the Philly Inquire. Talking to the staff writer Diane, I questioned the jest of the visit. Diane explained a lot of folks in Philly think electricity comes out of a wire! She wanted to put perspective on where it starts and the how many people, and work, it takes to make it happen. http://www.philly.com/philly/business/20110123_Toiling_in.html Mr. Ryan's article has got all the ingredients for failure. False positives has caused our government to make many mistakes. Decisions made on subjective matter can neither used or taken seriously. Don't get me wrong, I am environmentally concerned. We'll just use that electricity that comes out of that wire!

3 pointsPerhaps if we all lined up our 's in a big line along the California border, put our dozer blades down and pushed west in low gear we could help California into the ocean... Just a thought... (a really nice thought...)
-
3 pointsWell, I'm buzzing on paint fumes, but Emory's tractor is starting to show its true colors. I got the rest of the color and clear on today. Right now, I only have pics of the seat pan. If you go to redoyourhorse.com, you'll notice that I made the rear fender paint match the custom carbon fiber look I had @Vinylguy make up for me. I just thought it would carry the theme all the way through. Still holding onto a little surprise for the seat pan though.

2 pointsI am going to look at a L-155 tomorrow. It's listed as a barn find. Seller knows nothing about it. Comes with two engines. Original is locked. Non-original engine turns over. Mower deck, snow blade, and bucket plow included. Pictures show it dirty and rusty, but it looks to be complete. What do you think it is worth and would it be better to part it or fix it knowing the original engine is likely a lost cause?

2 points@Big_Red_Fred It is now Thursday and you still haven't given an answer on the Gt purchase? What's going on ?

2 pointsAre you talkin about the HORSE or the DEERE Jay? The deer isn't as nice as those monsters you have on your back porch, but he'll do.
-
2 pointsI'm not sure. Safest bet is to cut a couple inches out of your old one and bring it with you. Or, measure the end on the fuel pump or something.
-
2 pointsThat would be another Great place to Build another Wall ! Thats one place ill never go again, Ever ! Except for dinner at Elcamino/wheel horses place ! His Standing order, Bring a FEL or else
-
2 pointsRichard, I considered it, but all of Terry's decals have the same black, red, and silver stripes under or around them. I was afraid it would have been too much if I striped the hood too. I think the decals will tie it all together. And...I painted the stripes and burried them under the clear. Sorry, couldn't rotate the 2nd pic.
-
2 pointsJust finished priming the rest of Emory's tractor. Gotta run the wife to urgent care - pink eye! I'm going to come back and seal it. Hopefully next time I post a pic, all the pieces will be painted. By the way, don't laugh at my fancy paint booth! I also got a pic of the black in the sun. Me likes!
