14 pointsJust message a guy on CL about his two wagons for $200 (he said he paid $250) and he knew they were worth more . It was only up for 9mins when I responded and told him of my situation (physically & financially) and these were on my bucket list for my collection . I told him I wouldn't be able to get them until next weekend and would give him $250 if he'd work with me . I asked him if he had heard of RS and that I was ACman on the forum . He responded right back and told me he'd hold them for me and yes his username is @gkendall99 so that might have something to do with it . The four wheel wagon looks like it needs new rims and tires but for the price for the two I'm not complaining I'm dancing in my chair ! Now I just have to sneak them past the wife ... We'll see if he keeps his word , but I got a good feeling about this one .

8 pointsGood luck on this one Jeff. Not only with the acquisition, but getting them past your wife.

8 pointsWell as of yesterday the eye was tracking 50-60 miles to my east. Now it has shifted and is showing it about 30 miles to my west. Either way its gonna be rough. I have most everything picked up but with everyone coming from south Florida evacuating, gas and store shelves are empty. Still some but you have to find it. Im stocked. Just gotta get the horses and other loose things secure in the backyard. if I disappear off radar for a while, just say a little prayer. Hope to slide out ok on the other side. May God bless everyone affected by this storm in some way. Later fellas

5 pointsWell, I think I found the reason this horse was parked many years back. This is the ignition wire from the switch to the coil. rubbed bare where it went thru the hood stand hole behind the fuel tank. I replaced the bad wiring and cleaned all the terminal connections. Put on a new plug, and cranked it over..... no fire. Installed a new condenser and the plug lit up. Hung a gravity fuel tank, primed her with starting fluid, hit the start switch and she couldn't wait to run. No smoke and no unusual noises. She's alive.

5 pointsSuper buy! Being a member here has it's benefits, kind of lets him know you aren't a scammer.

5 pointsYou guys humble me...Thank You for all the Birthday Wishes and Smiles. Went to El Molina's last night. They had a 3 burrito combo with refried beans and rice on the side that caught my eye. It was fantastic. You could mix and match the burritos...I had 1st. steak...2nd shredded pork...3rd chiriso (sp). Incredible with 1/2 pitcher of Margaritas. I think I am going to have another Birthday next week. And then we went for ice cream....some young guy came in looked at the line, said something, turned around and left.
-
5 pointsThanks Everyone! And ,Yes sir Bob... I got your number👍. And I want to apologize for not keeping in touch as much as I would like. But as with everyone, we get busy and things happen. But I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. Gonna be putting the horses to work next week I can see already.

4 pointsDepending on what you are wanting to do, you just may have to "bite the bullet" and get a real air compressor! My wife bought me a HF blast cabinet a few years ago because she said (we) needed one. I agreed with her and after she bought it and we put it together she asked why I wasn't using it. I explained the small compressor I had wouldn't create enough air volume and I needed a BIGGER compressor. She said, "If I would have known you were going to need a $1000 air compressor, I wouldn't have bought the blast cabinet"! I said, we needed the bigger air compressor any way!

4 points@ACman nice find on the wagon & trailer. I'm sure the seller will work with you on this deal! As others have said, good luck getting them past your wife!

4 pointsNeat tractor made in Baltimore, MD. It was written up in Lane & Garden Tractor magazine in July 2012. If it was closer to me, I'd go get it. Jim

4 pointsThank you, Richard! My cable must be broken; I will have to quick investigation. BTW, here's my last tractor that I restored, but sold.
-
3 pointsI found this tractor and couldn't pass it up for $50. She's a bit rough but has a lot of parts that I need. Can someone tell me what year and model it is? The model number is T1267 and the serial number is 379154. It has a k301 s motor on it

3 pointsBusy week at work and Church. Did finish the dash plate and got the rims painted. These tasks were not necessary at this time but were easy short jobs I could tackle in between life this week.....and rain.
-
3 pointsJeff make sure she is taking a nap before you try to unload them. They are a little too big to hide in your pockets.
-
3 points1267 was the first of the six speed and had the limited slip differential. It may be cosmetically challenged, but it will be a prized member of your herd with a bit of TLC.

3 pointsStopped at a different place tonight. NO LINE!!!! I walk in and nobody there. Finally a lady comes out of the bathroom. She said " Sorry, it was Mexican night last night! "

3 pointsNice score. Scott Mehlberg has the correct fenders you need for sale. This is one of my three 701s
-
3 pointsI like the adjustable fuel pressure system. Need more pressure....add another block under the tank. I will be interested in what is under the PTO belt cover box.

3 pointsHappy Birthday Steve! My first point of contact during my plea for help during the B-80s transmission troubles. Little did I know back then that I had stumbled onto the best forum and group of guys I have ever had the pleasure to meet on the internet. Many more and lots of seat time!

2 pointsSo one of my bucket list tractors has been a 701. I've came across many but couldn't make a deal happen or there just wasn't enough of a 701 to restore. Picked up a few that were bits and pieces of a 701. But they were broke down and shelved for parts inventory. But came across this one on CL last Friday and I inquired. Well the gentlemen offered to deliver it on his way to work and give me paperwork for it and extra parts. So I didn't even knock down the price. He said he swore up and down the machine runs great and he mowed with it until the front spindle broke. So he delivered it this morning! I had a extra spindle waiting and battery. Well she fired right up and drove around like a dream! Even came with 4 nice hubcaps. Now just got to give it a complete tear down and go through it top to bottom and bring it back to new! I'll post the serial number when i get chance to slowly remove some paint.

2 pointsWorking on a foot control just haven't had time to get it all laid out to do testing keep ya posted 🤔
-
2 pointsIt appears to me that she will be thrilled when you buy a $500 compressor, as she implied permission for a $1,000.00 unit. That would be my story anyway..... I don't think you will be at all impressed with the performance of 2 pancake compressors in series.
-
2 pointsI might be able to talk the wife into that being used for a piece of yard art , as I have the perfect spot . How about a birthday gift for her , she's always buying country knickknacks . What says country more than a tractor ! It's definitely not something you see everyday and does have that cartoonist look . What would @Mrs. Rules do if Craig brought that home ?
-
2 pointsIf a person were to pick that up they would be the only one at any show who had one! But I'm sure some one would tell them they painted it the wrong color! Looks like if you removed the left rear wheel it could be used for flat belt work, very cool. I think you need that Jeff, better buy it before some one beats you to it.
-
2 pointsI bought this 1997 brand new in the crate in 1998. Unfortunately a couple years ago I thought I was getting out of mowing and sold it. Since then I inherited my dad's 161 and have gotten a few more afterwards.
-
2 pointsI have one exactly like the first one but it has a different name. Same problem with the rope. OK for grass clippings I have too many leaves and it fills up too fast.
-
2 pointsNone of the Valspar products are what they used to be since being bought out by Sherwin-Williams . That's what led to the demise of the Restoration series paints , which were excellent for their cost . You'd almost have to call the tech line and ask if it will work on an oil based enamel - good luck getting a straight answer as none of them want the liability now . Oil based enamels to my knowledge are not designed to be used with clear coats - you can polish the stuff after it's hardened to enhance the gloss if you want , just make certain it's fully cured out after a few months . Sarge
-
2 pointsWood gone now, the fuel pump is not connected and I don't know whats under the cover. Will have a look Sunday and get some pic's, when its had all the crud washed off. Need to find out what the attachment is or was on the rear and get the weights off the rear wheels.

2 points@Skipper - Check with Jimmies Motor Rebuilding in Peru, Illinois 61349 - they have an excellent reputation on Kohler engines and never take any short cuts . Old school shop that has been doing this longer than anyone else in the area . It takes a lot of time and work to properly rebuild an air cooled engine - everything changes dimension with heat and getting it right with no noises or issues when cold is not easy . A properly rebuilt Kohler will last nearly as long as it did the first time if done right - most will never hit that mark . I think a lot of the problem is the customer's demands and complaints about cost - good work and parts cost money - a lot of it so in this case you really do get what you pay for . Sarge

2 pointsI think seen where @AMC RULES had used a needle scaler on his front rims on his 1056 http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/71537-painting-wheels/?tab=comments#comment-679445 . Here's another good tip from @chris sutton http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/68387-rear-wheel-referb/?tab=comments#comment-646627 . Use a deck of cards or note cards to go between the rim and tire all the way around. Saves you from masking off the tire . Lastly if you want to save those front tires try some RuGLYDE on them . If you go the new tire route, sell those tires here in the classifieds as they look like brand. I know I need at least one . Could help you offset some of the cost of the new tires. This forum is full good ideas. All I did was use the search box , selected "this forum" and typed in cards and hit search to find these two links. Try typing in painting wheels and I bet there's a ton of threads on this subject. Hope this helps.

2 pointsThe concrete was poured today. Will add AG panel on each end this weekend. Add a slope on the sides for easy access. Should be good for a few WH's and attachments. .

2 pointsHappy Birthday ya big galoot! I only worked 8 1/2 hrs. today in your honor. Of course I made up for it with a 12hr. stint on Tues. I called Elgin DPW and alerted them to an ozone issue tomorrow so you won't have to worry about calling it in! Stay safe and don't order Italian in a Mexican joint! I'll be thinkin of you at 4:30 AM my time as I get up for another fun day. "Lets see here. I had Mexican last night. Do I really want to pull on this handle too hard! "

2 pointsTook a few more of the herd. Emory and I decided to get 7 of them out to stretch their legs. Pictures are 2 61 suburbans, 60 suburban, 64 lawn ranger, 61 701, 73 GT 14, and a 953. I was just playing with effects on the pictures - all were taken in front of a garage I built of old wood about 20 years ago.
