12 pointsA few photo's from Rural Past Times. Home for the weekend. Not the luxury caravan. The little green tent. My Sears/Roper flexing it's muscles. Friday afternoon. Saturday. Fergie The Wonder Dog. Mini D and man with BRACES. Suspenders has a different meaning over here. Basil and Courtney on guard duty. Chris testing a towing attachment. Poor Bolens couldn't stand the pace. Various Bolens needed attention over the weekend. Sheepherds Hut with all mod cons. Sunday. Man Cave. Thresher. Fergie with reaper/binder. One way to pull a bird. Arena Parade. A very nice Ford. Finally My C-81 and finger bar got second in the horticultural class.

5 pointsIt looks like you are only a half hour away. Just go look at it. Start it and run it and then ask the GT experts here about it It better start and run for the asking price. I would not hold my breath, because it has been around for a while If it does not because it "needs battery", then yeah, may be fishy. Sellers often say they have a great tractor, but YOU can fix it easily when it does not run. That is when they are hiding something That is why I bring a battery and jumper cables every time i look at one. Take a ignition key as well Maybe all that is wrong with it is the screw is in the "tow' position, Maybe the drive key is not in the transmission pulley It is possible the seller inherited it and knows nothing about the tractor and if so, you just stole it Good luck.

4 pointsYou better stop now before you break a hub. You need equal pressure around the hub (all 5 lug bolt holes) like this:

4 pointsEngine mounting plate came today. Unfortunately it did not pan out as planned. Forged forward and mounted engine directly to frame. It turns out I may very well be able to keep the original GT14 look for the hood. I had to do MAJOR surgery on the predator shroud. I'll have to seal it off to keep debris out and allow it to cool properly but i like that the hood stays stock. I tried positioning it towards the back but could not gain enough room to allow for use of GT14 gas tank. So I went with plan B. Moved engine into the nose and will go with a Bseries style tank where the battery would ordinarily go. I will fab up a heat deflector similar rob gt14 set up to protect the Bseries tank. Then I tore it back down to start the process of installing the clutch and brake assembly off the donor. 2 steps forward and 1-2 steps back. Slow going but progress is happening. The whole roll of tape under tank is for rough spacing. First pic the engine is solidly mounted.

4 pointsI want to thank everyone for the b'day wishes, working a 10 hour shift then heading to night classes (next 2 years) for my new job promotion as tool and fixture designer (apprentice) 3D CAD basically for all the new muffler/pipe/converter (aftermarket) assemblies that will need welding operations, Jeff.

4 pointsI got a compressor on board Jason so you will have that luxury ... just had to stuff new tubes in the 520 for the same reason!
-
4 pointsSeeing Mike's @ol550 newly refinished tires just reminded me... I have to fix a flat tomorrow too. Been limping my Raider 9 along with daily injections from the air compressor for the last month...but it occurs to me that I won't have the quick luxury for three days in the field.

4 pointsI thought you were already packed since Portage No more work for me, got to get loading and run a few errands will be there Thursday morning.

4 pointsThere was some strange going ons happening yesterday ... you most of appeased the sun god and brought you good fortune .
-
4 pointsThat is a beauty for sure Jim. We will have to get a picture with it, Dan's 1076, and Dad's 875 in Berlin! You did a great job and I love the history of it with you. Reading it, reminds me much of Dad and his 875! Started out as a potential plow tractor, ended up a really sharp show machine!

3 pointsI didn't like the way the belt guard met the fender so I did a little cutting and welding to improve the look and fit. Also welded a mounting plate for the front section to bolt to.

3 pointssounds like it was a typical mid week birthday as an adult! The excitement can sometimes get misplaced at about 25years old! However, another day breathing is one more on "the right side of the dirt!" Good luck on your classes!

3 pointsI'm also wondering where the red wire goes. If in fact you had battery power going to the points the magneto ignition coil is likely burnt up. All is not lost though. You can convert to battery ignition using the points by adding a battery ignition coil with internal resistor, proper condenser for battery ignition, bracket to hold the coil and an ignition switch for battery ignition. 3 pointsSure is Jeff. 1900+ hours on the Kohler twin. 48" deck that needs some TLC. A twisted hood/ stand. Hoping that thins out the bidders and gives Ed a chance. 1986...It does have the motion lever on the console where it is easy to install Ed's foot control. Of course the good Eaton 1100 W hyd lift.

3 pointsGot to get through today here at work.... and then a meeting tonight. Loading and errands tomorrow for me and be over there early Friday.

3 pointsA hydro rebuild sometimes only means the springs in the acceleration valve. That's not bad at all. $500 seems like a great price. If that photo is accurate, I don't see how you could lose money, even if you find it's a dog, you could part out everything and probably make money.
-
3 pointsIt's for sale on the "Garden Tractor Junkies" Facebook page. Located in noblesville Indiana. Thanks for your input Dave! And the pulley I got off of you worked perfect! I'm gonna have to think on this one and see. Gotta make some room in the stable if I wanna bring anything else home!

2 pointsDisconnect the red wire and hook the points back up. Crank it over and see if you have spark or if it runs ground the points wire to shut it off. You would need to see if the switch ignition terminal is marked M for mag or I (eye) for battery ignition. The switches look identical except for those letters and work totally different. There is a third breakerless ignition that uses an odd shaped external coil but also uses a magneto ignition switch. Garry

2 pointsYour story doesn't quite add up to me. To begin with, Wheel Horse Junkies is not a sales or "what's it worth" page. So mentioning that doesn't hold much water for me. Anything that gets posted there for sale gets taken down pretty quickly. You don't cite a link or a post.........and I can't find it.......even on the sister site which allows sale postings, Wheel Horse Garden Tractors and Parts. I've owned a first year (1969) 1-7741 GT 14 since about 1980. I follow this stuff pretty closely and there are GT 14s for sale here in northern Indiana, but the one you mention is an unknown to me. I need more relevant info in the form of an actual listing to give you my 2 cents. Regards, Steve
