15 points....we have the best site on the planet....somebody chimed in on @dells68 thread about scoreing him (was it you Greg @Amcwheel85 ?!?!) a t shirt at the BS and I jokingly chimed in about one too. Low and behold I get PM from said Dells when he is at the BS, and I'm sure busy soaking in the sights & sounds, he & his main little man goes out of his way, gets me a shirt (very correct size & color I might add)... packages it up and sends it to me!!!!!!!! Now how cool is that!!! Now I never met Mr. Dells face to face. Although he was at the BS last year I just got too busy to shake his hand. A big Dells!

10 pointsThanks to 953nut I am the proud owner of a very nice York Rake. The were made in Unadilla Ny not far from me. I called them this morning to find out if they had and operators manual and see what parts might be available. The still make the same model rake. Had nice chat with them and the man was quite surprised at the serial number #548. He has worked there 40 years and this rake predates his employment. He knew that 34 years ago the serial numbers were in the 5000 range. The have a scarificer attachment that I may go up there and get soon. Have to wonder if the current cheap landscape rakes at Tractor Supply etc will be around that long. Got it mounted on the D200 and it works as good as new. Time to dress up the driveway...

9 pointsYes we do... Most of our wife's think we're just a bunch of crazy guys who buy junk old red tractors . In reality we're a bunch of guys that are willing and ready to help out any Horseoholic in time of need even though many of us have never met . RULES !!!

8 pointsThe Suburban that I started last December is almost done. Just some final "tweeking" to the engine. I was told that the engine did run and I took them at their word (my bad). Didn't have any spark. Tore the front end off and found a real mess. Started to fix that problem (coil, condenser, wiring) and got to wondering....... Pulled the head (looks to have been rebuilt right before what ever it was mounted on broke) got new head bolts, changing a couple of wires, adding a "kill switch". Not sure how much time I am going to get to finish it. We are on "baby watch" for grandsons #5 and #6. Our daughter is having twin boys. My wife got real tired of me crawling around on the garage floor and then complaining that my knees hurt all the time so so bought me the handy machine the Suburban is sitting on (works great)

8 pointsI am usually in Delaware with the Sons on July 4, but this year they were in a NY baseball tournament, so I was able to attend the local stay at home holiday in Red Lion, Pa. So, I loaded some horses and joined the show. They had quite an assortment of old iron. The Kids are not allowed to touch the cars with the high priced paint jobs, they were all over my li'l red tractors with the rattle can paint. My next door neighbor won first place in his division with his T Ford. This '48 Plymouth coupe was my favorite. Then I got home in time to see the big green machine cutting the wheat. While I picked a few crabs left from Sundays catch. Hope all my Wheel Horse Friends enjoyed their Holiday.
-
7 pointsA point I have made before. Lot of good people on here and I have only met two of them. Spoken to many and hope to make it to the show to personally thank many of them for the help and advice/parts/things I have got from them over the years. This place rocks.

6 pointsHad to ketchup with Terry @Vinylguy and get a Commando 8 ... ! Bought it sight on seen for less than a tank of gas , delivered to my house . Really I was hoping for the smaller ones with vertical shaft engines and the five bolt smaller rim and tire combo but I'll take it . This tractor along with the Charger12 and a 67 Lawnranger the cuz got all came from the same owner. This negotiation was being done while we were driving to the Big Show . Time to thin the herd out ... !

6 pointsvalleyboy, I have a suggestion in regards to your posting habits on various topics. In every topic you have ever started here on RS, save one, you are using you user name as the subject line, although you are posting in various forums on different subjects. Doing so only impedes and confuses what you are attempting to ask and find a solution for. I would say your posts will be much more quickly and effectively answered if you make reference to your specific problem or question in your subject line, rather than continuing to use your user name in the subject line. If you don't, I can envision multiple topics (maybe eventually dozens) with exactly the same subject line going forward, with absolutely no way for anyone, or yourself, to clearly delineate what you might be describing short of actually opening each individual post. That's very inefficient, not to mention confusing. Just a suggestion and food for thought before posting a new future topic. Regards, Steve

4 pointsShe has three other sisters. She needs to get out by next Tuesday and is getting rid of lot of stuff. It was free so I thought I would play around with it. I think it does humans, rabbits, squirrels and ground hogs too Sure bring your truck Bring your truck too

4 pointsA RS member on the forum stated he was going to make a pair of rear axles for his tractor. I PM'ed him to ask if he could make a custom pair to accommodate duals. He not only purchased the steel, the machining and the heat-treating, but packed them and paid to ship them to me, {all without even knowing me} and offered, "If I liked them I could send him the payment, and if I didn't, I could simply return them." At about 1/3rd or 1/2 of retail I gladly paid and am very happy with them. Members like this gentleman are what makes RS one of the best Wheel Horse sites that there is. My thanks to all members like this.

3 pointsWell finally got the 1045 aka "MUTT" out to get some seat time. This thing runs better then almost any other tractor I have had. It got to pull around it's new friend "TUG" the tub cart... also it's adopted yellow and white brother "BUC" and the cart "TAIL" snuck in for a picture
-
3 pointsFound this one on Craigslist. As you guys know, the 84s with 3 point are getting harder and harder to find. This tractor is certainly not a show tractor, but it should make a good worker. The deck is solid and sounds o.k., but I'm not going to mow with this one. Over the years, I have purchased 5 C195s--one each in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, and Oklahoma. My wife says I have gone far enough, both figuratively and literally!
-
3 pointsNot a problem at all Jim! This is what makes our hobby great - the people! Most of us have memories of our youth and family using these great old tractors. That is what makes this hobby what it is and ties us together like family. In a sense we are all one big Red Square family!

3 pointsI finally found a collision / restoration shop to give me an estimate. 2,478.00 for the 2 854's and 600.00 on the trailer. Still waiting for accident report to see what ins pays.
-
3 pointsPaul, glad to see it being worked. Having two landscape rakes was one too many so I wanted it to go to a good home where it would be used.
-
3 pointsPaul is spot on with all he is telling you. Take a roll pin punch and tap the roll pin in from the front to get 1/8" recess and file any from the back. Try running a tap in the set screw hole. I like to tighten the set screw into the shifter (snug) and back out 1/4 turn...hold with wrench while you tighten the lock nut. If you think a new set screw would do it for you, PM me your address and I will send you one. no charge
-
3 pointsGave some serious thought to getting that rake when 953 nut posted it for sale. I have absolutely no use for it but thought it would be cool to have! Glad you got it and have a purpose for it.
-
3 pointsPurchased this Planet Jr tractor wrench at a local flea market for $3. While changing oil on my Wheel Horse 10 HP I noticed the wrench was the same size as the top of the dipstick. Thought it was kinda cool, so now it's in my Wheel Horse tool kit. Check it out!

3 pointsMost US vehicles of the mid 70's - mid 80's were not built to achieve high mileage. Either they rusted out or the engine gave up around 100k. The Vega was probably one of the worst vehicles designed in the US. Aluminum block with a cast iron head, Ya, that was a great idea.. You must of really took care of yours Bob, most didn't make it to 50,000. The Cosworth Vega was improved but still not a long life engine. With Chevy using the same bell housing for every engine, the Vega was a fun & easy car to drop a V8 in and have a high power light weight car. I had a 327 in my 72 Vega hatchback with a 3 speed standard trans. It was quick & fun to drive until the body/chassis finally rusted beyond safe operation.

3 pointsSounds like the clutch disc has stuck to the flywheel or the clutch pressure plate. If you can start the tractor in gear with lots of room to drive it do so while holding the pedal down. Speed up and slow down a few times to see if it will break loose. The higher the gear you can use the more effort is applied to the clutch. But do so safely. Garry

2 pointsI just wanted to take a picture(s) of my newest tractor, and my largest, next to my smallest tractor. So below is my 1947 Farmall Cub alongside the 1961 551 Wheel Horse.
-
2 pointsReally ...makin quite the haul! All I get outta helping someone move is a warm beer and a sore back! Your sister got any other sisters?
-
2 pointsMy wife's relatives live in Red Lion , I could sleep on there sofa and travel to your location if freebies are involved.
-
2 pointsMy son has one of those on his Ariens ( tried to talk him in to a ) his only complain is that the set up will not allow him to angle the bucket to did downward. Wonder if you could rig it on a a snow blade set up , remove the blade and use the bucket instead. Keep us updated with pictures .

2 pointsShould be a direct bolt up if the oil pans are the same. If not, and they are both big blocks then you can leave the 301 pan on the C120 and bolt the block to it.
-
2 pointsActually I'm wrong. you need to hold the clutch pedal down while cranking. Sorry for the brain fade!

2 points22hp Kohler Command .. Will take a pic today.. It's a power steering/cruise control equipped 522xi as far as model goes.. It dont turn as sharp as my Kubota 4ws diesel but I like it better.. My first job was small engine repair so I have always liked the Wheel Horses. The owner said it was a 54 but could be wrong.. May be a 52.. I know there ain't much room on my 60" wide trailer.. At least it fits so I can cut my moms 3 acres.. The JD 430 and Kubota I have each has a 60 so I was cutting her lawn with a 38 inch she has. Took awhile to say the least lol
-
2 pointsThe rear tires are Carlisle farm specialist. They are 7-14. The rims are from Miller tire and are identical to the original rims but 14".
-
2 pointsI want to tell you about an amazing product that very few people know about, since it isn't widely publicized for trailers anymore. It is called BED RUG. It looks just like indoor/outdoor carpet, but it is actually made our of plastic fibers. You can wash it and water will not go through it. You can also vacuum or sweep it. It is resistant to fuel and oil. Today they only make molded pickup truck molded bed rugs, but if you call them, they will sell you off the roll. It comes six feet wide with a minimum order of ten feet in length. I just did my trailer this year and I absolutely love it. I use my trailer to haul tractors, sleep at the show, haul mulch, dirt, furniture, etc. It cleans like new each time you hose it down. I even did the ramp door because it repels water, has great traction, and is super durable. You mount it with a spray adhesive available from them or Home Depot. They also have aluminum covers for edging if needed. I went half way up my walls as well as the floor. It is a dark gray/black color. I believe it costs about $10 a linear foot. Here is a link. http://www.bedrug.com/products/bed-mats.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjw-ezKBRCGwqyK0rHzmvkBEiQAu-_-LCqJprtgdt3myQH_gpXnkHTR3i8xoxhTPWIrdv_0BWcaAsGc8P8HAQ You won't be disappointed!

2 pointsWell said Bob! I have a friend who suffers with PTSD from his time in Vietnam and he will be camping in a remote area along the Appalachian Trail to get away from the fire works that bring his mind back to the jungles.
-
2 pointsSo I got some free labor this week. My son and his fiancé visited. So wash and wax and then I prepped the interior. Dealer Binder followed by white on the walls and this morning I sprayed Upol Raptor on the floor and ~ 7.5 inches up the sides. For anyone considering this particular product, I bought 8 quarts. Mixed in just shy of 1/2 cup of sand for texture in each quart. It's a bit thin in a couple spots so the ideal for this size trailer would be 9 quarts and 10 would allow pretty thick coat. Also, it calls for complete cleaning of the sprayer with Acetone after each quart. I found this to be necessary. Texture is great. Time will tell if it will hold up but I believe it will be very durable. The sealer/binder coat is a necessity.

2 pointsSome years WH welded the donut to the shift lever. Your pic isn't clear enough for me to see if that is the case Welded on the left
-
2 pointsThe small hole in the "Donut" of the shifter needs to align with the threaded hole in the tranny case. Yours looks like it is sitting to high. The top of the donut is usually a bit below the top of the tranny case. Run the set screw in as tight as you can by hand (no wrench) if it is seated correctly you will not be able to pull the shifter up nor push it down. Then back it out bit 1/4 to 1/2 turn before you tighten the lock nut

2 pointsout with the old!! In with the old, but hopefully better. Plus look at that hitch 😁
