12 pointsI picked this little guy up with the 603 a few weeks back. I'm currently looking for a new seat cushion for it. Funengineer was kind enough to pitch in the complete L157 Lawn Ranger decal set with the deal. I also have the mower deck, but I am currently trying to button up a deal on a lift arm for it.

10 pointsWell look what hopped on my trailer yesterday! I went to an estate sale of a gentleman who recently passed away and I knew he collected old garden tractors. His son in law texted me some pictures of what was there and I picked this out right away so I went to the sale and got a great deal on it! It is a bit of a project, the carb, fuel pump, and coil are all missing, but the engine is free so it will run. It's hard to kill a kohler! Probably gonna take the snow blower off and sell it since I don't really need it. I am really excited to add a 1045 to the collection!

9 pointsWhile taking the family out for Mother's Day lunch I spied this ,sitting in front of a L&G small engines shop (of course I got the you're crazy and I need help bit, because it was close to a 100 yards across the road at 35+ MPH that I spotted it amongst all the other lawn equipment) D series with an Ark 550 loader, maybe later this week after I get off work I'll go back a get a little bit more info on this WH, Jeff.

9 pointsFirst, I love the handle... @Morecowbell Second, I am similar in Paul's / @pfrederi opinion comcerning pullers. I now have a tool box that is dedicated to them as I've gathered so many in past couple years. And whenever I run across one I don't have, I tend to snag it. Better to have and not need than to need and not have:-)

9 pointsBearing /Flange Puller??? Heat the pulley if you go that way. Try standing engine so pulley faces up. Hit it with Kroil and wait a day....

9 pointsPicked this up yesterday after a long days ride. I'm going to need to see Terry for the correct stickers though. Left the house at 6:00am and returned at 11:45pm, almost an 18 hour ride. I think it was worth it though. Looks to be all original except the stickers and the front tires. You don't find these to often and almost never with an unbroken dash plate that's original. She runs great, but I'm finding it hard to get my motor running this morning after that trip.

8 pointsToday i picked up the 69 charger 12. had to use truck to pull it out of ruts. then winch it up onto the trailer. free rolling valve is froze so no free roll. got it home. carefully unloaded it and thought well crap. so i decided to get it running in the front yard. 30 minutes later after i replaced fuel line cleaned carb it fired right up. no smoke. but umm i hope to free up the throttle. ran it at just above idle to get it to shed. i pulled ags off and put turfs on it.

8 pointsSome Auto parts stores rent / loan out things like that. I am more of the Norm Abrams school. He says a wood worker can never have to o many clamps. I feel you can never have too many pullers.

8 pointsCT200 minibike I picked up at TSC for $423 including tax. 6HP and about 25 MPH.........however of course...... that would never do. Mods.....Tav 2 Torque-a-verter clutch $220 including tax. Comet cart racing exhaust. $20 Secure, removable, and rain proof storage trunk for haulin my gear. $10 Added mud protection guard behind front tire. $0 Custom built removable stand for my hitch cargo carrier.......extra wood, glue, screws, and a can of paint. My GPS speedo read 51 MPH when I let up......and the torque that clutch gives is amazing. Had it loaded down and powered up steep hills with power to spare. About $700 for a brand new utility minibike that I'll have for years seems like a pretty good deal to me.....and its a blast to ride! Pics are after a recent expedition and then after I cleaned it back up.

6 pointsI have been considering trading for a 1949 Farmall Cub. The guy wants a John Deere lawn tractor, and I have one that I might be willing to trade. I'm just ain't sure. The Cub looks like it has maybe a non-Cub front blade (though it says International on it), but no other attachments. I would like to have a fast-hitch, but prices on those seem high, as well as finding other implements might be a bit pricey also. Not having the standard category one 3 point will mean probably Cub specific implements, etc. I have other tractors to mow with, including a John Deere commercial zero turn, plus I have a front blade for a Wheel Horse with a couple of prospects to put that one on. But, my GX345 was my plow tractor, so I would have to get one of the Wheel Horses set up for that.

6 pointsThank you Craig and everyone for you prayers and concern. Bob I would love to meet you too. Now for the latest update: I got back out of he hospital last Friday I very quickly began to improve just being here. It seems that when we get one thing back under control along comes another problem to solve. The latest was low sodium and blood pressure. Now that these are back in check for the moment I would be happy with a no new problems stretch. Again, thanks for all your support and rest assured, I'll be lookin' atcha!

5 pointsHey everyone me and my wife just bought our house in January and her father gave us his old too. It's a 93 312-8. He bought it brand new but it hasn't been used much the last few years. I had it running all winter, using the snowblower Wich worked awesome until the chain broke. Now i took the blower off and was getting it read for the mower deck and it won't start. It just cranks and cranks. From what I've read online it sounds like the carb needs to be rebuilt. The last time it ran I was constantly adjusting the choke. Just want to make sure that's what I need before I start throwing money at it. I would love to get it back into good shape and running right. It has the 12 horse Kohler, any help would be grateful. Thanks!

4 pointsHow about a totally new acronym for our engines / motors to settle this once and for all? I propose "WHOPPER" - Wheel Horse Origin of Propelling Power Energy and Resources. As an example, a post on RS could read: Hey, my C-105 10 HP WHOPPER is blowing a thick blue haze at start-up, but then stops after a while - Is that normal? While on the Electric WH threads it could read: Hey, my E-141 WHOPPER is making a funny noise, kinda like a file on a metal edge. Should I be concerned? Now - After 15 - 20 Supporters chime in and pester the poor dude for not posting pictures, I think they would eventually get around to answering his question - regardless of which fossil fuel (coal, natural gas or Gasoline) fueled his WHOPPER at the time of the event noted... Now can't we all just get along and stare at the red eye candy elsewhere on this forum (including their WHOPPERS)?

4 pointsMy opinion is that engines run on fossil fuels and motors on electricity. That being said I 'm satisfied that I'm intelligent enough to make the distinction myself. I'm not concerned with what we call them.

4 pointsUsually just patience. I'd tip it up and soak it in WD-40 (its not a lubricant but meant for stuck parts) for a day or two and then try it. Also tap on the puller shaft while its under pressure. I just went through this when removing a Tech flywheel. When it finally let go it went bang and the thing came flying off. I may have an extra pulley....but not sure.

4 pointsYes, good chance the fuel pump is gummed up with who knows what. One test that I always do is to remove the hose from the pump to the carburetor, then have someone crank the engine (with the plug wire grounded) while observing if there is fuel pumping out of the hose. If none, work back to the tank. Make sure that fuel is coming out of the tank, through the hose, through the filter and to the pump. If so, and it's not pumping out of the pump, there's your problem.

4 pointsYes I assumed it was a replacement. I think they may have had an HH model cast iron engine where as this one is an H model aluminum engine bore. Correct on the pully but I just happen to have the correct one in my inventory. My wife has proclaimed it hers.

4 pointsYou need to run the engine at full throttle (or close) when you have a hydro. If it is the original red WH filter I wouldn't run it very much if at all until I drained it got a new filter and clean fluid. If you are circulating crap in your old oil you will quickly do more damage to your hydro. \What color is the tranny fluid, clear red, clear tan or chocolate milk color?

4 pointsNice truck you have there! I used to be in big time, racing stadium trucks, & monster trucks off road every week in the summer. In the winter I raced pan cars on carpet oval one night a week and touring cars on carpet road coarse on another day during the week. I still have my vintage T-Maxx that I take out once n a while. It was a pretty trick truck in it's day, I stuck way too much cash into building it.

3 pointsNot saying this is a better solution to the pullers mentioned but I don't currently have one of those so it's the backyard mechanic way for me. I've had pretty good luck (After thoroughly soaking of coarse) by using a piece of pipe to knock the pulley towards the block (Assuming it's not already on as far as it will go). Usually a couple quick shocks with a hammer but nothing drastic enough to break something. This may seem counter productive since you're trying to get it off but once that bond is broken, they do come off easier. Some have to be knocked on then pulled a little, then back on, then pulled and so on until it comes off. Spray oil on there each time it moves and wipe the shaft clean of the rust. It's also good idea to completely remove all the set screws and spay whatever you're using in those holes too. That way it gets right to the shaft deeper in there. That might be when you find the second set screw under the first one once in a while!

I got my first wheelhorse and it was a mess but I saw it as a great machine that someone neglected so I joined this forum to get all the info I could get about this tractor. All the guys here helped me and I got all the experts telling me what I must do to get it running and working. I now support this site and help others with the knowledge I have. This is the deck model before the 5-0721 This is the deck that followed the 5-0721 There won't be much difference in them if any so hope you can determine the parts needed. If in doubt ask questions. That is what the forum is for. Garry

3 pointsRun a new line to the fuel pump and install a new in line gas filter. If you disconnect the hose at the fuel pump going up to the carb and crank the engine and no gas comes out then it's the fuel pump. A lot of guys install a electric fuel pump if the old pump goes out. When I clean a gas tank I remove it and wash it out with water and check it with a light to see if it's clean BUT THAT'S ME.

3 pointsI have the exact same C-160 that suffered from the same issues. It has the Sundstrand piston-to-piston power source model 90-1136. (There are other very similar Sundstrand models ... 90-1137 and 90-1140.) Now, not to let the wind out of your sails, but the ultimate solution is to rebuild the hydro pump and mating hydro motor. This is not a difficult process and, if you know what wrenches are, you can do this. The problem: Over the life of 40+ years, the oil gets contaminated either thru neglect or thru misuse of the Parking Brake lever. Contaminates come from carelessly replenishing the oil and metal chips are introduced by using the parking brake for a PANIC stop maneuver. These contaminants scrape, score, scratch or otherwise damage precision machined brass-to-steel surfaces and the scratches allow blow-by of hydraulic pressure progressively as the operating temperature is reached. Inasmuch as the hydro pump and hydro motor share nearly identical components and use the same circulating contaminated oil, each then requires rebuild for the same reasons described above. Do not rebuild one without the same applied process to the other. To do so would defeat the purpose and diminished performance results could be expected. There is a manual for rebuild somewhere on this forum that takes yo thru the process. Of the utmost importance in ...CLEAN work area... Keep a parts rinse tub at hand (kerosene) and procure some red or green engine assembly oil....NAPA. You'll also need a 3-piece gasket kit or material to prefab them. There are a bunch of O-rings and backup rings that MAY need replaced. Source these thru auto parts stores or hyd repair shops...not sure. The hydro pump also has 3 seals that should be replaced, just because they are 40 years old. ....Timken has these seals.

3 pointsWell the video didn't work so well... To hard to steer, hold shifter, hold beer and hold phone.... Dropped phone ran it over... Lost control ran over a 2 foot by 2 foot chimney brick, thought I was going to flip it. Luckily the front pivots so far it stayed on all fours. I did get a pic of running over some firewood though
