By now you guys know that these tractors down south are a rare find, implements and attachments, fogetaboutit. So the other day cruising CL I came across this 10 miles away, called the guy he said come look and make me an offer. 32in harrow disc $70 got it for $50. No model # but I think its a DP-861, serial # A-75947 so mid 60's maybe. Discs turn good, zerks all good, top adjustment shoulder bolts may never come loose.Going to clean it up and put it on the burb, or the 702.

Better pull up a chair...... I used to go over to my Dad's house and he would be on the computer or out in the garage working on a tractor. Kept mentioning this thing called "Red Square". I didn't know what he was talking about. Some Russian website or something? Meanwhile he keeps getting more and more tractors. I would go over and help him work on them here and there. They were his thing. I had my interests also but at the time it wasn't tractors. Time passes and Dad keeps trading and dealing his tractors. He had gotten rid of most other brands and Wheel Horse became his thing. He gave me a 1056, 857 and a Commando 8. I tried to get into them but had a lot going at the time. They sat under the back awning. I would still weld up stuff and help him wire up things. One day I am at his house and he was Skyping with Stevasaurus. We were trying to get a 3 speed tranny back together. Dad had always talked about skyping with different people he had met on here. Not many but he enjoyed it. So more time passes and then so does my Dad. We had been working on the 418A that I now have, welding up a lift bracket. I didn't know that that would be the last time I got to talk to my Dad. He had a massive heart attack the next night at work. A week after he passed,that's when I joined Red Square. I talked to Karl and explained what happened. He let me have my Dad's password so I could go on and tie up any loose ends on deals that he may have had going at the time. I sat for hours reading his posts (and still have the bookmarked). I started learning things about the tractors I had, people he had talked to and things he wanted to do. So I have been on here now for almost 4 years. I have learned a lot and have met many nice people via computer. There is not a whole lot of wheel horse people down here in Florida. But I did get to meet RacingBob. I spoke to Bob one day and set it up for him to come to my house where I welded up his suburban hood. Right then I knew Bob was alright. Met a couple more around Florida in the past year or so. Bob however blew me away. I had sold an engine to Aldon but had no way to get it to him. Bob said "I can take it with me to the show". Well that is what he did. Not only taking stuff up there, but also bringing me back a stack of parts. Bob had posted a want list in the big show for sale/ wanted thread. I had half the stuff he was looking for. He came down to my house, picked up Aldon's engine and I gave him all the parts he needed for transporting my stuff. Bob asked me what he owed me and I told him that Dad would have wanted the parts to be used by someone rather than getting thrown out or laying on a shelf. No money exchanged hands. I did ask Bob to get me a wheel horse decal at the show. So then the big show rolls around and Bob told me he got my parts and we set up a day to meet up. I went today to pickup my parts and Bob got my decal out and handed it to me. Then he tells me he also got me a supporter plate from Karl. After that he pulls out this little cardboard tube. He starts unrolling something.......... You see, Bob took it upon himself to get in touch with Terry(Vinylguy) and he had me a supporter banner made with my Dad's picture and screen name on it. I was almost speechless. I stood there trying to keep the tears from my eyes. Didn't work. Someone that I met from an internet forum about tractors had went so far above and beyond and gave me something that I will cherish till I am gone. THANKS BOB! You are the man. I also want to thank Terry and his wife for making the banner and Karl for the plate. My Dad had always wanted to go to the big show and I planned to attend the last two years but things kept coming up and my tractor wasn't done anyways. Now I am shooting for the 2017 show and hope to meet & thank all of you in person. I thank you for the friendships I have made even if only from behind a keyboard. 7-12-1979 Disco is dealt death blow by fans of the Chicago White Sox As the 1970s came to an end, the age of disco was also nearing its finale. But for all of its decadence and overexposure, disco didn’t quite die a natural death by collapsing under its own weight. Instead, it was killed by a public backlash that reached its peak on this day in 1979 with the infamous “Disco Demolition” night at Chicago’s Comiskey Park. That incident, which led to at least nine injuries, 39 arrests and the cancellation and forfeit of a Major League Baseball game, is widely credited—or, depending on your perspective, blamed—with dealing disco its death blow. The event was the brainchild of Steve Dahl and Garry Meier, popular disk jockeys on Chicago’s WLUP “The Loop” FM. Dahl had only recently moved to WLUP from rival station WDAI when that station switched to an all-disco format—a relatively common reformatting trend in American radio in 1979. But however many other rock DJs were displaced by disco, only Dahl was inspired to launch a semi-comic vendetta aimed at “the eradication and elimination of the dreaded musical disease.” On May 2, the rainout of a game between the Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers led to the scheduling of a doubleheader on July 12. Dahl and Meier approached the White Sox with a rather unorthodox idea for an attendance-boosting promotion: Declare July 12 “Disco Demolition” night and allow Dahl to blow up a dumpster full of disco records between games of the doubleheader. White Sox executive Mike Veeck embraced the idea in the same spirit with which his father, legendary team-owner Bill Veeck, had once sent a little person to the plate in a major league ballgame in order to amuse the fans and draw a walk. The first mistake organizers made on Disco Demolition night was grossly underestimating the appeal of the 98-cent discount tickets offered to anyone who brought a disco record to the park to add to the explosive-rigged dumpster. WLUP and the White Sox expected perhaps 5,000 more fans than the average draw of 15,000 or so at Comiskey Park. What they got instead was a raucous sellout crowd of 40,000-plus and an even more raucous overflow crowd of as many as 40,000 more outside on Shields Avenue. The second mistake was failing to actually collect those disco records, which would become dangerous projectiles in the hands of a crowd that was already out of control by the time Dahl detonated his dumpster in center field during warm-ups for the evening’s second game. What followed was utter chaos, as fans by the thousands stormed the field and began to wreak havoc, shimmying up the foul poles, tearing up the grass and lighting vinyl bonfires on the diamond while the stadium scoreboard implored them to return to their seats. Conditions were judged too dangerous for the scheduled game to begin, and the Detroit Tigers were awarded a win by forfeit.

I had written an email to Wheelhorseman1000 earlier this evening, and couldn't figure out why his website, handle, and logo seemed familiar to me. So after some PB Blaster and lots of carb cleaner and even more fine tuning the carburetor she LIVES ! Hydro seems to be ok too although comeone snipped the battery cables so I was starting it by jumping it from my truck so I could only forward and reverse about 2 ft either way . also has a working deck but it is a rear discharge.

Well I have the 1054 back running and fixed up to point that I had better get going on the 1st project, a 1965 875. Finished sandblasting the last wheel at the shop today and all the wheels are primed ready for painting. Next things on the list hood, frame, seat pan/ fenders etc. Have to get the 875 going so the Mrs. will have one to drive.

I belong to several different forums and RedSquare has the finest ladies and gentlemen of all of them. So glad you are on RedSquare with us, you contribute a lot and though I never met your Dad, I'm sure I would have liked him. @Racinbob is first class! Last year when I needed haulin help he was the first one to reply, as it turned out Van and James came to my rescue, but Bob was instrumental in making it happen.

Hit pay dirt lookin' on a country cruise with my grandsons a couple of years ago. Still lookin' 40+ years!

Trying to post my first video. I've replaced and adjusted the slack in the shifter . Installed a new shifter boot. Cleaned the fuel system replaced a hub and axle seal. Bought a drive belt cover and AG tires on wheels at the big show. Changed oil. Removed the lift for now. Replaced all the nuts and bolts and washers on the steering column and console. O K, my question is can some tell me the current part number for the drive belt that connects the engine to the transmission? Also can someone tell me the current part number for the two belts that connects the starter/generator to the Kohler engine? I can probably match the old S/G belts to something at NAPA but I don't have a drive belt that's even close to being the correct one. Thank you guys! VID_20160710_143633573.mp4

I would say it was well worth $25! I have a rear discharge deck on a 875, and I wasn't sure I would like it, but I do!!

@Lane Ranger I'm sure there is a lot more weight/pressure on the pin in the rock-shaft than when it is in the PTO. Leverage is everything when you are trying to "move" something.

Sometimes the just appears down the road. Quick story. My Commando 800 died, the deck was shot and was using something to cut grass. Looking in the Saturday paper, " Whelhorse tractor for sale selling to settle father in laws estate call - - - - - - $450.00 " Called ,what model ? Don't know. What comes with it " uh deck , chains, snow blade not sure of HP " Give me your address ' Uh can you come before lunch ? , I'll be there in 30 minutes. Got to the guy's place figuring I'll talk down the price. He opens the shed ,jumps on the horse , starts it backs it out . A 1987 310-8 ,with 36"rd deck snow plow and wheel horse chains. Gave him $450.00 and it has been working here ever since. Once and a while it needs some attention other than regular maintenance. Look at the gallery , check C L , fleabay ,classifieds here ,check out estate sales yard sales and drive by places that work on mowers. You just never know.

I have an 88 520H I bought last October that fits that statement perfectly. I do get that great feeling of accomplishment now that it is a usable machine and am finally getting some seat time on it. I bought it so I could give my 95 520H a rest and try to keep it's hours from climbing so quickly, and because it came with a snow thrower, rear tiller and 48" mower deck. Perhaps some day it will get new paint, but it won't be any time soon!

Yes what model are you looking for and do you want a worker, trailer queen or a combo? Search the galleries and see what trips your hammer if you don't know what model you want.. Do broad Ebay & CL searches and see what comes up but keep in mind what T-Mo posted, you may have to branch out. Keep an eye (follow) on the classifieds here... more often then not nice stuff comes up right here and pretty much all of the guys that post here are straight shooters. Guys sometimes put incredible deals in the classifieds here but you gotta be quick to the trigger and most always there is shipping involved. I got a free Suburban here once! If you see something that catches your fancy but there is a distance issue use the member map and see if there is a member nearby that can scope it out for you and help out. 99.9 % of the time a fellow horseman would help you get it ...thats just the way we are here! There are a few collectors that come to mind in your state so PM them and see if they can help out... again use the member map...that's what it's there for. Patience is a key thing here tho, more often than not (right) horses find you not you finding it. Also keep in mind that if you get a fixer upper that this is strictly a labor of love and by the time you have paint, mechanicals & labor in it might not be worth any more than what you paid for it.

Had the the honor of meeting Bob and his wife Nancy at the BS and yes Bob is a one of the real good guys. I just wish he would quit hanging around with the likes of the Dino...don't want his bad habits to rub off on him! ran across this C-120 at the local mower shop the owner of the shop just bought it from the family of original owner that passed away.it hasn't ran since 2009 been sitting in a barn since. the kouler turns over by hand deck is excellent shape. didn't have a battery in it or gas or would tried to start it. asked what he wanted for it he says around 400. he wants to get it running before he puts it for sale. was thinking of a complete restore of this. even has maybe original WH seat.

My vote would be for rear engine dragster or the total other end of the spectrum....a refrigerate panel truck complete with taps for liquid refreshment. I can dream big when someone else is doing the work

Forget it. Throw in the towel now while you still have half a chance. Pay the freckled kid down the road to mow and shovel, and take the money you just saved yourself and get yourself a new recliner - for the garage! PS, one of them college fridges work nice as a table next to your new recliner. Paste a bunch of Cub Cadet, John Deere, of and why not, NASCAR crap all over it and man you'll be the envy of every neighbor out there.

Buy it. Running engines bring $200-400. He probably has other offers by now.

I use HF el-cheapo pins and have no indication of wear.

Good find, especially for a blind squirrel. In the past year I have gotten more into the hunt for attachments. Last year I found a NOS Wheel Horse plow. This year I found a nearly NOS Wheel Horse box blade. I have a few other things, but these two are my best/favorites of the attachments.

Too funny.... so didn't I Apples ...I used to bounce at at a rock club in CT when I was stationed there in '78 and wore it whenever I worked... big hit with the bands that played!!

Have you been attending Tractor and Engine shows? That would be a great place to see what is available and meet people.

You may find that if it will lift 5" - 6" off the ground it may not till deep enough. So when you change one you change the other which I think is normal for all makes and models with 23" rear tires. You need an easy way to change the lift so you can go from working to transport mode. Garry

1/4" roll pin tool worked like a champ. However the steering wheel did NOT want to come off the shaft. Sooooo.... we went hard to port than hard to starboard and a hard yank and a few Navy adjectives she came right off!! Sometimes ya gotta really TALK to em to get their attention!!!

This is all I can do for now. I'll post some more after I replace all the belts. Then the belt covers will be installed and the tractor will look more finished. I was thinking you might want another pic of the sammich I ate on the way home from Old Red Rider's house yesterday

OK OK LIke I said Im a newbee here! But I can take it. haha Im sorry, its not a C200. Its a C120. My wife is pretty attached to the C100 though. I took a bunch of pics of the C100. Tell me what you all think. Is it restoreable? The say it ran when the Father in Law put it in the shed. Its been in there for 5 years or so. Hope the pics load. Its the condition of the rear wheels that really concern me. Sorry it took so long to get back to you all
