Well my lil wheel horse girl(daughter Lillian) helped me out putting the C-81 back together... She named her Rosie and then wanted to have a photo shoot lol.

6-12-1987 Reagan challenges Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall In one of his most famous Cold War speeches, President Ronald Reagan challenges Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall. Two years later, deliriously happy East and West Germans did break down the infamous barrier between East and West Berlin. Reagan’s challenge came during a visit to West Berlin. With the Berlin Wall as a backdrop, Reagan declared, “There is one sign the Soviets can make that would be unmistakable, that would advance dramatically the cause of freedom and peace.” He then called upon his Soviet counterpart: “Secretary General Gorbachev, if you seek peace–if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe–if you seek liberalization: come here, to this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.” Addressing the West Berlin crowd, Reagan observed, “Standing before the Brandenburg Gate, every man is a German, separated from his fellow men. Every man is a Berliner, forced to look upon a scar.” Reagan then went on to ask Gorbachev to undertake serious arms reduction talks with the United States. Most listeners at the time viewed Reagan’s speech as a dramatic appeal to Gorbachev to renew negotiations on nuclear arms reductions. It was also a reminder that despite the Soviet leader’s public statements about a new relationship with the West, the United States wanted to see action taken to improve the Cold War tensions. Just eight months before, a summit between Reagan and Gorbachev had ended unsatisfactorily, with both sides charging the other with bad faith in talks aimed at reducing nuclear arsenals. Reagan, who had formed a personal closeness to Gorbachev during their previous meetings, obviously wanted to move those negotiations forward. In December 1987, the two met once again and signed the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, which eliminated an entire class of nuclear missiles from Europe.

I want to thank anyone that i have talked to about these Red Tractors....Me knowing nothing about them and learning most of it here...I had an idea that I hope is Ok to do...This is about people,,,,,and the tractors,,,,, ,For those not old enuff This sign pole was a reminder of home being,, reminded of it and its values,, But here.....we are bringing home to the show,,and showing friends where we are from,,,at the top of the pole is why we have homes.....please respect it.. Oh and for those that need rules 1,,,,,No jumping from the pole 2, no climbing the pole,, 3, you cant drive the anchor that is holding the pole in place,,, 4, any one can be the care taker of the pole for the next year...just ask...hey each state could have one... 5 Now.....some pics...........OH AND LETS SEE YOU POLE SIGN HERE !!!!!!!!!!!! 6 the pole will be set up Thursday morning......signs will be added between 9 and all day....with out rain) !!!! Do not worry,,,,,,we wont run out of room.... we have an expansion pak!!!!!!!!,,,,,,,,,yup,,,,,,,think about that a while//!!!!! Signs will be added ali weekend,,,unless im shopping.....if you want your sign back.....just pick it up.....after 11 am saturday....signs left will be disgarded,,,,you have a year to make a new one....OR bring it back !!!

I got the 854 out today for a few pictures. Not a show tractor but I'm very happy with the finished project. Before rebuild. Rebuild complete.

Hello all Im a new member. I just bought my first collector wheel horses the other day. A 62 702 and a 66 656. Bought them from the original owner that had all the factory paperwork and everything. Will continue looking for deals like that. Hehe But anyways I'm glad to of found this forum and am looking forward to learning a lot here. Sorry for the pic being sideways!!!

My 953 has been wandering around I assume for years with two holes where headlights should be. I had no luck finding anything original for replacements. Decided to go the LED route and found these Optronics at Wal-Mart. They are 2.75" in diameter and with some foam filler they fit right in the 3" holes of the grill. I think they look better than nothing.

It is a 953, the ivory choke/throttle knobs are the giveaway. Presuming it runs well I would say that $750 would be a maximum reasonable price. It has a grill, is reasonably complete and the wheel weights, while not correct for a would be a nice thing to have. The steering wheel is not correct and the mower belt guard is missing plus the obvious bent up rear fenders. Seems like some people see the outrageous asking prices on and don't take into consideration the fact that it has been listed for a year with no takers. Personally, I would walk away at anything over $500.

You probably aren't as old vintage as some of us. MASH was a very successful TV series about an Army hospital in Korea. They had a pole with signs showing the distance and direction to home or other places of interest. 875 horse is making one for us. Any one who wants to will bring a sign to add to the post, roadapples lives 14 miles from the show.

Up date on GT- 14 rebuilt the carb, fixed the lights, put the decals on and the lower bracket for the 3-point, now I have to find the rest of the 3-point stuff, and it runs great. It's not show material, but it's nice. Thanks for all the replys.

The Horse is finally home! Long story. This was my late fathers pride and joy. You see he passed away ten years ago. I wanted to haul her home but my Mom insisted my step Dad would use it ( yes she moved rather fast lol ) turns out he never did and it sat in the garage for five years until he pushed it out under the lean to where it would spend the next five years to rust and go to h$&@. Well he passed and now the Horse is where it belongs. I have fond memories of when I was a kid Dad rebuilt it a painted it up nice n pretty. This was his pride and joy, as he plowed all winter with it among other things. One early spring day it was time to pull the race car out of the snow bank to get ready for summer, as I backed up to it with the truck he said " get out of the way, I'll pull it out with the Wheel Horse," as he sawed back n forth on the hydrostatic shifter not to be proven be proven wrong as I said it couldn't be done he blew the transmission out of it lol. I also remember getting yelled at as a kid for popping wheelies with it. Good times. I really don't need another one but this one is kind of special.

Humm...I betcha Tigman could fab up a functional tank.

WAAAAAY beyond my skill level to build a gas tank, or at least a nice one anyway but have plenty of ideas about converting one. Think I might need to do something because the only thing I really don't like is that engine, because it's not Wheel Horse correct. It's the gas tank that was giving trouble to begin with which is why that engine is in there. Working on something but not sure how it will fit. Got the brakes worked out today. Still needs some tweeking but close.

If you have the room to store it, I just might. We can talk about it at the show. Maybe we can convert some of those Bikers into Wheel Horse guys. Building and creating is the fun part for me, not the finished product. Maybe that's part of why there are quite a few unfinished projects around and none of the "finished" stuff ever gets a nice paint job. Kind of keeps the project in a building stage. Original plan was for a bigger engine. So far the only thing I'm not really happy with is that little engine because there's too much air around it, all that space should be packed full of engine. We'll see if there's time to do something about that.

RIP pretty Miss Cassie... you will be missed.

Here are a couple of my old 856 , which sadly I no longer have . the first pics was when I had to rescue a few of my tractors from the floods the hood ornament was a solid brass rearing horse, it looked great when it was all polished up.

My son brought this to me today..... said "Happy Father's Day". Any idea what it is?????

OK some night time pics. Not bad. They are nice and bright, more of a flood light. It would help to have a deeper reflector but that would not fit in the space behind the grill. Air cleaner in the way so the slim design works for me. Much brighter I'm sure than original.

That is what I love about this site, learn something new every day.

No idea from me either, but it is "cute"! My wife would like it....BUT she tells me she really likes the "odd" things...what does that say about me?

I know how you feel. Have had to put down two beloved cats within the last year. It's never easy. The spirit of Miss Cassie will still be there to greet you.

found this one on c?l about a month ago for $ 40.00 and it actually ran. this makes the 2 nd one I, have plus a parts machine. I also have the optional mower deck, hence the parts machine, had to buy one with out a motor to get the deck. was planing on bring them to the big show yhis year but I;m not going to have time to get them ready and probably no room on the trailers either. Well I started disassembling things because I am going to give it a paint job as well and rebuild the trans. I will post a thread when I start doing the exciting things.

Thanks a lot! Seems like every time we get a horse out she wants me to take her picture with them lol. Then proceeds to tell me to put it on my wheel horse forum... So that would be the main reason why I have a lot of these pictures on here! Lol. And being a girl that wants anything to do with my tractors I never tell her no!

This is posted on the local CL. Seller says it's a 1967, but I think it's a 1964 1054 or '65 1054A. Price is too much for my budget right now at $1500, and personally I think it's over priced. But that body style of the 953 and 1054 intrigues me somewhat.

Sorry to read about your uncle passing away. Sounds like a great guy who gave you some great memories. Don't listen to 857 horse! One of my best came from out of state! Happy hunting and hope you bag a big one! Or 2 or 3. .......

Been keeping busy on the Heavy Chevy. The truck was parked in the previous owners garage for just about 15 yrs. without being started or even turned over. I think when he finally decided to start it he just put a battery in and started it. What i think happened is the cylinders might have been a little rusty from sitting and they either cracked or wore themselves out from rust in the cylinders from sitting. She ran pretty darn good but man did it burn oil! It smoked also and was only getting worse. I decided rather than rebuild the original motor I'd buy a brand new GM Goodwrench 350. While I was at it I went with a new intake, carb, water pump, starter, clutch, pressure plate and flywheel and a new Pertronix electronic distributor to replace the old points dizzy. What a difference, even more balls than it had before and when ya get on it it sounds pretty wicked...I still have a few minor things to do.. What the hell, Big Show or bust...

Actually it's a funny story. Planned on only buying the 702 so we only took my dads ranger. When I showed up and found out he was the original owner and that they were completely untouched I gave him the cash for both right away. Lol Leaving in about an hour to pic up the 656! Lol kinda funny though I just got the whole banana thing. Lol brothers moving to Colorado and needed boxes for moving

One of the next things to pickup is the dash decal along with all the other 875 decals.

Update , have some parts ordered but keep those ideas coming. Found out those Bud Man stickers are 1976 Paul Revere bicentennial edition, . I appreciate all ideas, @AMC RULES and @GlenPettit the new chrome painting process would probably work . What's the problem with the chrome process on plastic they been doing it for years, and now there's companies specializing in plastic restoration. Dash Specialties comes to mind. There has to be a simple solution besides casting in brass.

Will signs be added after the.above mentioned time. I will not arrive till after about 5:00 pm. on Thursday.

Just spotted the resurrection of this post and thankfully I will not be in the running this year, so far. BUT - there are two weeks to go and I have to get things ready (including that !#*@ trailer) .

While I had the choke/throttle cables removed thought I would clean up the rusty dash panel. Pretty obvious the 875 wasn't a Garage Queen.... Sand blasted at the shop and did a little Engine turning on it till I pickup dash decal.

I'm going to say 312-8 or 314-8

Looks to me that's what you get when someone takes pride in ownership. Carry on the tradition that would make him proud!
