12 pointsBeautiful day here in S.W. pa. so I took everything out of the garage and hosed the Salt and Cinders out from old man Winter. Decided to take a shot being they were all out.

11 pointsI think I know why I am drawn to these tractors so much. It was an epiphany moment as I was out last night with my wife. It came up as I was explaining why I enjoyed working on them so much. I used to have one of these Motorized erector sets. I would spend hours with it daily when I was 3-5 years old. In essence, I find these wheel horses very similar. Your only limits are what you can imagine and afford:)
-
8 pointsWell they may not all run but today was the annual blessing of the plows . Tried real hard to get the 59 running before today but still need to install fuel tank and throttle . Hopefully have it running by Mentone and the 702 if I can find the pieces I need at Mentone , with some help it could be running before I leave .of to the dinner and more pics to come !

8 pointsI found out last October that the adult version of an erector set is a new Original Cab snow cab. That is how the guy from New Haven Power Equipment described them on the phone.......... And he was right.......
-
8 pointsAnd that's why all the "real" boys of our generation had scars all over their hands.

7 pointsMy wife is a little on the shorter side so hitting the clutches on my horses is abit of an issue. I have recently gotten my 953 back up and functioning and the clutch petal is closer to the seat so I figured I would have her try driving it. Here is the result .
-
6 pointsBeing the 4 child I had bits or Erector set, early Legos, Tinker Toys, and Lincoln Logs. My dad drilled holes in some Lincoln Logs so I could attach the Erector set metal pieces to them and I was in "tall cotton". Great memories
-
6 pointsAnd my wife says I have too many. Can't get them out all at one time. She thinks I have 3 , not sure how I would explain all 5 lined up. By the way nice looking herd.

-
5 pointsI'll spare you the step by step, but I always like when guys post before and after's, so here's a few . . . I picked this up from a kid at the show two years ago. It's a beast and was such a good worker it deserved better
-
5 pointsI had American Plastic Bricks. I had about 3 sets of them and could build giant buildings with them.
-
5 pointsMe as well-probably why I became a mechanical engineer as an adult. They do have new ones out-bought some for the grandkids as an alternate to Lego's. Parts are not a robust and the screws and nuts are really small. One positive change is that the screw heads are allen type. Those slotted head screws from the 50's were dangerous. One slip of the el cheapo screwdriver and you got gouged but good!

4 points4-16-1943 Hallucinogenic effects of LSD discovered In Basel, Switzerland, Albert Hoffman, a Swiss chemist working at the Sandoz pharmaceutical research laboratory, accidentally consumes LSD-25, a synthetic drug he had created in 1938 as part of his research into the medicinal value of lysergic acid compounds. After taking the drug, formally known as lysergic acid diethylamide, Dr. Hoffman was disturbed by unusual sensations and hallucinations. In his notes, he related the experience: “Last Friday, April 16, 1943, I was forced to interrupt my work in the laboratory in the middle of the afternoon and proceed home, being affected by a remarkable restlessness, combined with a slight dizziness. At home I lay down and sank into a not unpleasant, intoxicated-like condition characterized by an extremely stimulated imagination. In a dreamlike state, with eyes closed (I found the daylight to be unpleasantly glaring), I perceived an uninterrupted stream of fantastic pictures, extraordinary shapes with intense, kaleidoscopic play of colors. After some two hours this condition faded away.” After intentionally taking the drug again to confirm that it had caused this strange physical and mental state, Dr. Hoffman published a report announcing his discovery, and so LSD made its entry into the world as a hallucinogenic drug. Widespread use of the so-called “mind-expanding” drug did not begin until the 1960s, when counterculture figures such as Albert M. Hubbard, Timothy Leary, and Ken Kesey publicly expounded on the benefits of using LSD as a recreational drug. The manufacture, sale, possession, and use of LSD, known to cause negative reactions in some of those who take it, were made illegal in the United States in 1965

-
3 pointsSame here , these are a very "external" machine much like a hit-&-miss or a steam locomotive . Steam locomotives & hit-n-misses both interest me but I'd have nowhere to park the locomotive & would probably be hauled off to the slammer if I plopped a hit-n-miss in my yard .

3 pointsHey guys. I actually felt like messing with my 2nd GT after work this evening. First day all week I've had any sap at all! I fabbed UK an exhaust flange and pipe extension. I put two straps coming down from the grille support bar to give the exhaust a little extra support since I'm running a cub muffler. I also got the battery in, remounted the switch panel so it will clear the side panel, and put a throttle cable on. With the one inch lift, the pulley sits almost perfect with the belt cover. Going to take it for a work day in the outdoor classroom at our school tomorrow, or today as it seems. We'll see how she does pulling an old cart of mine.

3 pointsI knew Him. A great guy that would do anything for you.If he didn't have it he would make or find it for you. Wait till you see all his little buildings and basement. He worked all winter on his tractors he loved them. A soft spoken man without a mean streak in his body except for cancer. I will miss him.

2 pointsSo I take it, the'res no " Cool Breezes' in your neighbor hood Craig? I forgot to mention the Boom Boxes and other racket from the day care that just moved in a couple of month's ago. I remember 20 yrs. back. Another neighbor's kid was raising all kinds of fowl. I'd be on a creeper working on a car and see all of these weird things walking around my garage. I'd slide out and I had chickens, ducks, turkeys and a peacock in the shop. And I live in a village no less.
