8 pointsThank you for your nice comments guys , most of the behind the scene works are carried out by our Admin guy Karl ,without his excellent knowledge & input God only knows where we would be . fortunatley we still have Karl as many know that he had a near fatal accident a couple of years ago but has recovered well and he gives Redsquare a lot of his time not just here but also our sister site ( MY OLD MACHINE ) . We have a great member base that also give so excellent information which also deserve an applause , without the members this site wouldn't exist.

Two of my non Wheel Horse projects...my 79 Chevy K20 and my all original 66 F350.My 1277...this is the tractor that started the addiction lol acquired her from a good friend of mine who just wanted her out of his yard. My 701 I had given to me the other day while in the parts store ordering parts for the 1277. This one should keep me busy for awhile! And finally my beautiful wife and I enjoying our small but growing herd

7 pointsThe moderators do a fantastic job, but the collective input of all the member make this such a great site. They do a thankless job, but with any luck we don't make the job too hard on them.

6 pointsI had an adventure with a CL user when I got my 854 with mower deck and wheel horse lawn sweeper. The ad said make offer so I emailed him to let know I was interested. He emailed his phone number so I called and made a deal for 100. He said he had 2 other people coming to look at it so It was first with money in hand and he would remove listing if sold. Fair enough. Still listed that Friday so I called to make arrangements and he would not answer. I went back to ad to email him and the listing was for 150. He still would not respond to me so I had a co-worker email him and had a reply in less than 15 minutes. Set up a meeting time and I used my company cell phone number to call him. Met that Saturday and he said about 5 people had looked at it but it needed too much work for them to tackle. So I made an offer for 100. and he even loaded it in my pick-up for me.

5 pointsPosted this in the "What's in your mirror" thread but figured I start a new thread about it here. I happened upon this on Craigslist about 20 minutes after the seller listed it. I called and purchased it immediately. Lets just say it's probably the cheapest I've ever paid for a Wheel Horse tractor. Today I degreased and pressure washed it so I can roll it inside and get it running. The fender pan and hood need some straightening out but that's no big deal. Gonna go through it, change the oil, plugs, fuel filter, hydro filter/oil and see what happens. The hour meter shows 929 hours.

5 pointsSad news, today I inherited my Dads 312-8, he was laid to rest with full military honors this afternoon. I will take good care of the tractor Dad, gonna miss you.

5 pointsMike meant to write over by 3:00ish on Saturday I usually stay in Gettysburg which is about a 1/2 hr ride. Others stay out in Chambersburg. There's a mom and pop motel close by called the Blue Sky Motel. Fairgrounds open for setup on Thursday so many of us get there early. This years feature tractor is "customs" so it looks like a good year for you to bring those horses!

5 pointsFound this tractor 20 mins away for 60.00. Runs and drives. I bought it mostly for the front and rear wheels and the rear ag's are nice and soft with no dry rot. I think the hood is a cub cadet original hood. The deck is really nice too!

5 pointshere's some of my ugly tractors that i've picked up over the years, the 416-8 is the one with the motor tin tore apart, actually got the motor to run on and pulled it off and put it on another tractor, but still have the tractor with an onan 18 on it. the 90 416-H ( 6" front tire tractor ) i bought several years ago pretty much as seen in the pictures. it was rode hard and put away wet, very wet. the running boards are bent down and the hood has a spot were it had a sharp metal ? corner dropped on it and punched through the hood. it was put out for sale with a 2 stage blower, snow plow, bagger and 37" deck and some other non- wheel horse items. the wiring was a mess and it didn't run. they thought it was the start relay but if i remember it was a safety switch. i call it old ugly. it runs real good and probably will pull the 16 hp off of it here before to much longer, not sure if or what motor i may put back on it. eric j

4 pointsI'm looking to buy my first wheel horse, but I don't know it's worth. Everything seemed solid and working. The deck raised up and down freely and the sleeve hitch did as well. Motor ran for 30 mins 10 years ago. What would be a good price to pay. If there's a post on this already, my bad. I'm new to forums.

4 pointsDuring the 1932 Presidential Primary Elections voters didn't have CNN debates to help them learn who the candidates were. Due to strict sign ordinances on Long Island no election signs could be erected with the exception of the "Vote For Me Poll" at the intersection of Nassau Blvd. and Rodman Street. In addition to incumbent Republican Herbert Hoover and front running Democrat, Franklin D. Roosevelt, there were several other contenders who placed their names (Republicans to the right, Democrats to the left, and others down the middle) on the pole hoping to be president. Those who didn't care could follow the signs to the newly opened Long Island Motor Parkway auto race track.

4 pointsI recently acquired an 867 that was missing a couple parts. One thing I was missing was the belt guard. I posted a want add but received no replies. I was looking at the manual and thought "I could build that if I had the dimensions" Thanks to my new found friend I was able to get my dimensions, good story with that. I had noticed a sitting not far from my home some time ago. Today when I drove by I noticed the owner outside so I stopped in to talk Horse's with him. Turns out the tractor was an 857 (same belt guard) but it didn't have the guard on it. The owner said the guard was there some place, well after 45min of digging through the snow we found it grown under dead grass. I asked if I could get measurements off of it so that I could make one. He told me take it home & get your measurements, bring it back when your done. Didn't ask for my address or phone number. Guess some tractor people are just great like that. He's having some issues with his & is not computer friendly so I'm going to print him up some manuals to help him through his issues. Any way got home, grabbed a some paper & some drawing utensils and made up a drawing. Then I went out to the garage, grabbed a piece of 16ga sheet metal & went to work. I wanted to show my results. These are pics of the original next to the one I made. If you can't buy it some times you gotta make it. A little primer & paint and most will not be able to tell the difference and it was a fun project for a poor weather day. Plus I made a new Horse friend!
