9 pointsI just saw this Wheel horse with a really big digger for sale in Sweden! I have never seen anything like this, so I tried to Google but found nothing. I Guess it could be made in Finland (because of the name) or probably sweden. The instruction manual is iin Swedish also. Has anyone seen this before? Lifts the poor tractor right off the ground! Edit, I had a closer look and it states on the instruction manual that it is from Finland, produced by OY KEPPO AB.

8 pointsHi! New member here. My Name is Scott and I live in Sweetwater Tennessee. Retired Air Force and now enjoying the retired life. Im the owner of a 1976 B-80 for about 4 years and I have the 36" tiller and yesterday purchased the push blade anticipating some snow this year. I use the 36" rear discharge deck regularly to cut about 3 of my 7 acres with the Wheel Horse. I think I need a bigger deck! The tiller gets plenty of use as I do gardening and can all of my vegetables in the summer. Looking forward to gathering and sharing info on here. Thanks for having me. Scott

6 pointsI think that's what I heard her say! Or maybe in not so many or the same words. But I just had to! Saw it in Craigslist, saw the price and bought in the dark last night. Got some issues but I drove it up the ramps! Haven't had time to unload or really check it out, yet. Funny part, I live in NY and this was an hour and a half into Vt. We get it all loaded and 10pm or so I head back but stopped to fill up. Just me and another car at the station and the other driver gets out, asks me if he can look at the tractor and then proceeds to tell me it's history! What are the odds? It does need a ignition switch but he tells me the rear leaks real bad and will need a heavy duty hub kit. Maybe axles. I didn't know they had any issues? "Hub kit" And I was surprised to hear maybe axles. He says these "xi"s rears are not fun to work on either! Well, hard to get at. Not what I wanted to hear but for what I paid for it, it really doesn't matter. 522xi 48" deck weight box 17cu/ft (I think!) Toro trailer

6 pointsI promised a while back to upload pics... here it is in all it's glory! 1979 B-111 (11 HP Briggs & Stratton engine, 8 speed manual gearbox) I also have a plow for it. Purchased it for about $600, good working condition. Tires are tired, I've put tubes in two of them so far. It had a new fuel pump (some plastic disk with a membrane driven by crankcase pressure). Last spring I evicted some mice from the engine head.

6 pointsThat's pretty cool Richard. OK, how many of you just tried to write backwards? I've seen those plexiglass boards and never even gave it a thought about writing backwards. I could print but my cursive wasn't very good. Here's another one to try. I'd argue about the great mind thing though. That there ain't not me. Now that I think of it my typing looks like this. Maybe I don't have to keep correcting my typos.

5 pointsI would like to take a moment and thank everyone who has gave me input on my 1267 project. All the way from the beginning when I 1st asking what I needed to make the tractor complete to the last topic about what I needed to get the blower on and going. Everyone has been very helpful and I thank all of you. I have not had the time this summer to get all the "wrong parts" corrected on the 1667 and she still needs a newer mower deck, but I did mange to get her ready for winter. she is now sitting pretty with a snow blower on her. I just need to had a spring assist and a couple washers to take up some slack on the lift but if it snows I think she is ready for service. thanks again to all that helped me with info and manuals and 1st hand how to do it. I even used the whipper snapper cord

That wench be as ugly as a fox!" 2. A mobile tire machine. Breaking beads is not exactly what I expected in this thread! http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=wench

4 pointsI was a prototype sheet metal mechanic (70's), had carte blanche to build anything I wanted. Had aluminum, CRS (cold rolled steel) but most of the chemical tanks** I worked with were 316 SS. I used heavier gauge 316 stainless steel mostly everywhere. I had a couple of finished decks on my trailer, painted. Dealer loved the work but was confused when I said, "Here, try this magnet on 'em." Wouldn't stick of course. PS. **That's why I'm called Tank or Tankman.

4 pointsStorage space is not an issue. Convincing the wife I need a dozen Wheel Horse tractors is where I may run into a problem!

3 pointsGive this a try, I can do it with ease, explanation below. In elementary school I had a great deal of difficulty with reading and spelling, it was determined that I had dyslexia and alternative teaching methods proved successful. As a radarman in the US Navy I was able to use this shortcoming as an advantage. While on watch we were required to write backwards on a clear plexiglass status board so the officers could read updates on our position and any nearby contacts (other ships). Several others had difficulty writing backward, not me, been doing it all my life!

2 pointsI agree! I almost bought a 520 last month but I'll keep looking for a bigger one. C160s are one my scope too. Thanks for the warm welcome from all. Last two days I've been on leaf duty and cutting. I just got back from a one month trip to England.
-
2 pointsScott, welcome to the site. If you plan to use a larger mower you may need a bigger horse, 8 HP can't do much more than 36". Perhaps a self powered pull behind mower off-set to the side or a gang reel mower would work with the B-80.

2 pointsso would it be called a BEL, or REL, or something else real clever? Maybe if the price is right on CL it's worth parts to build a good loader equipped tractor?
-
2 pointsThanks for posting this it was very helpful and now i don't have any creeping problems and it is fast in forward and reverse and it don't come to a stop while turning

2 pointsRight...if Iowa, MSU or OSU wins the Big Ten championship game and is undefeated, that team will "probably" be one of the four playoff teams I would think that the team that loses the Big Ten Championship game would go to the Rosebowl...but not necessarily...MSU went to the Rosebowl 2 years ago, and if you do not count last year (because that bowl was a playoff bowl, a team that is tied with MSU might be the team picked. In case of a tie, the team that did not go the year before would go. On the other hand, one of the teams in the BTC game may end up 12 and 1...the winner maybe being 13 and 0 and 1 team that did not play in the BTC game being 11 and 1. Now who goes??? It looks like Iowa just has to win out and end up 13 and 0!! go for it John

2 pointsI believe i got those manuals with the tractor i have one for the deck engine and 522xi i guess the guy that owned it before the guy i got it from was the one that bought it new. Makes me the third owner

2 pointsThanks for the help guys i know the price was right but i was still on the fence with this one it looked like it was sum what taken care of the trans oil looked good but the motor oil looked a little on the dark side the PO did say it needed changed and gave me a new oil filter and fuel filter for it the trans also had a fram filter on it that thing gots to go but at least it was changed i guess. The PO has only had it a few months and didn't know what he had or how to work on it. He was able to get it in a package deal when buying his house and just used it till the belt for the deck had broke and know he is buying a new mower. I will keep you guys posted on my progress

2 pointsI'm with Ed on this one as well. The Briggs Vanguard replacement engine you had on the 520 is still just under 1600 dollars new. You can't find them used and used Onan's are expensive too plus you have no idea what your getting. If the Eaton transmission is also losing power once it's warmed up, your best bet is to forgo that tractor. If you use ground contact attachments like garden plows, the hydro transmissions are not recommended. I would look for a 12 to 18 horsepower Wheelhorse with the 8 speed manual transmission. (hi/lo Range). As Ed mentioned, the 300 and 400 series tractors use the same attachments as your 520 with just a few exceptions. You could easily use a single cylinder Kohler 12 or 14 horse tractor to do everything you did with your 520 and save yourself a lot of money plus you will have less headaches with a simpler Kohler single. Look for the newer 312 8 Speed and 314 8 speed and the older C Series tractors with the Kohler 12 or 14HP engine. Just make sure what you get has a horizontal shaft engine with the "classic" PTO on the side like your 520 has. If you still want to stay with an automatic, do NOT look at a 312-A, a 516 H or a 518 H. These have the Eaton 700 hydro rears and are not at all for use with ground engagement attachments. Again, most of us will recommend the manuals verses the hydros for garden plowing and tilling, etc. You can sell your old 520H for parts here in our classified section and list it on your local CraigsList. Just keep the attachments that you used with the 520 for use with another WH tractor! You should let us know where you live under location and also list it in the add you place for the parts tractor. The classified add has to show a price so you can tell us what you want for it and then state "or best offer". You would be surprised how close you might live to a Redsquare member. We make house calls too and other than some donuts and coffee, it's free! Oh and Welcome to the Forum! We're glad you found us!
