8 pointsWell here are a few picks of the tractor. I guess the air filter is shot = look at fingers. the rest may be I can fix over the winter. The only thing is about the carb lot of water and rust in tank. Enjoy. I guess you really have to appreciate W/H took me almost an hour just to get the hood off. Gary B.....

5 pointsMy son brought home the new horse today, It's areal beauty everything is powder coated but the hood . Can't wait till the snow comes and see what this little horse can do . For a extra $100 he through in two hoods,59 trans,58 trans parts minus cast center, seat, steering wheel, rims tires, and a bunch of small parts . They'll come in handy for my other RJ. I would like to thank Chris for passing it on after 40 years of ownership . I know it was hard to let it go, but I promise to take good care for her.

4 pointsPicked up a pair of mounted used Ag tires at an auction yesterday. They are Carlisle Super lugs 23 10.50x12 mounted on 8.5" rims. Put them on my 310-8 (she is my pulling tractor...that is trailers and other stuff not competition). She had Deestone Super extra grip 23 10.50x12 on WH 7.5" rims. Look at the difference. Wish I knew where the 8.5" rims came from as the backset is perfect for WHs... By the way Bob Maynards Studs and lug nut set made swap a breeze

4 pointsThe 800cc polaris atv and its 60" blade is down and the backhoe isnt here so this was the next best thing! I have a new love for this lil guy!

4 pointsI've got beer, maybe that is what is dragging me down. On the lighter side...I would rather be on the bottom with beer then I would trying to figure out what is going on with Ohio St., Michigan St., Barfowa, ETC.

4 pointsThat is a back rollover just waiting to happen! If he manages to kill himself before he reproduces, he would be a leading candidate for this year's Darwin Award.
-
3 pointsThe one thingy is a counterweight of a simplicity . He said when he was a kid he had his friends set on the hood to keep the front tires on the ground . The other thingy is the mount for the snowplow , just remove two pins and it comes right off. He showed me the left side cover pointed at the brake assembly said it was different ( I ? him too ). Yeah I like those weights too . Even the wife thought it was cool !

3 pointsA few years ago my wife called from the gas station saying her car won't start. It ran fine until she stopped for gas. I told her to make sure it was in Park then try again. A few minutes later she pulled into the driveway. Sounds similar, likely a safety switch not satisfied for some reason. PTO, neutral etc. Cleat

3 pointsCould be several causes for the problem, need to make sure all of your connections are tight and corrosion free, this includes all grounds, they are electrical connections too.. To see if the solenoid is bad just take a jumper wire from your battery positive terminal to the small terminal on the solenoid, if it activates it is good. Let us know what you find.
-
3 pointsI would check the safety switches clutch and pto and so on

3 pointsI just mow mine up in place until they are tiny pieces. This year, I hope to compost them in a pile. I have a giant pile of mulch turning into dirt along the street where they filled my ditch in. By spring, I hope it has already turned to dirt, but it may take 2 years, it is about 16" deep.

3 pointsokay, imma go and copy duke's picks next time, i'm out of beer and need to get out of the basement to get some more

2 pointsI'm hoping that someone may be able to point me in the right direction here. I recently restored a Raider 12 and ran it around the garden briefly before taking it to bits and then out to France where I put it back together again. That was this time last year and I cut about half an acre of brambles and bracken. It was then used again in March and June with no problems, but recently having used it again, it would not start after a run. The starter was not turning and no click from the solenoid, but it started first go with jump leads onto the car and then stopped as soon as they were removed. I charged the battery which is only a year old and it worked fine. I guess it's not charging and that I have just been running it from the battery all the time. What I have remembered from when I stripped the machine down was that there was a question about this, but when it all went back together and ran ok I forgot all about it. I did measure the resistance across the alternator coils at the time and there was continuity but I can't remember the resistance reading. When the engine is running at idle speed the ammeter oscillates quickly from positive to negative but this stops when the engine revs are increased and settles down to a small discharge current, about the thickness of the needle. Any suggestions what this could be? The problem I have is that I am not going back to France for a few months and would like to take the necessary parts over to fix it. Also I have just bought a tiller to go on the back and will need some advice on the lift mechanism, but will put this as a separate post. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Andrew

2 pointsThe Western North Carolina Ag. Center is the venue for the best fall show in the region, I snapped a few shots as I drove around, enjoy. My old "Survivor" 953 was my trustee steed of choice for the day, brought the fancy trailer too. Case, Copar Panzer and Colts were enjoying the sunshine. This one was "Green with Envy" when it saw a Wheel horse coming up. This old Sears was a bit hard to get a good shot of due to the sun, but it was rustier than mine so I figured I better include it. How about a GE Electric, don't see one of them every day. Had a few good looking Allis Chalmers too. This JD with matching honey wagon was too cool, the belt pulley even worked! Had a few other RED tractors too. This nice looking RJ was looking for a new home. This nice Suburban was at the same vendor's site. This freshly painted GT-14 was abandoned in the fleas, couldn't find the owner to get price info. How about a full race Ford 8N? Here is a horse with an attitude, love it! Great Gibson. Freshly built Speedex This Bantam hardly ever stopped moving, the boy driving it was about 9 or 10 and proud as could be. Couple of Panzer Projects. This line up of Cub Originals were all race ready. They were worth a second look. How about a garden tractor powered run about. Sweet little 605, very well done. Love this little hay baler This fellow seems to have more sponsors than a NASCAR racer. I will close with a real "Jim Dandy", hope you enjoyed the show.

2 pointsWe need to keep getting the younger generation hooked on so they can drive us around when we no longer can.

2 pointsWas back on leaf pick up duty again today and hopefully got a video of the sweeper in action. Beautiful fall day in mid Michigan. My neighbor came over and helped me pick some up with his sweeper.Yup he seen mine and said he had to have one. Found one at a golf course auction and picked it up.We picked up 15 loads in about 3 1/2 hours. I had the wife out with the blower going around the trees and other places that the sweeper can't get into. P.S. don't pay attention to the color of his tractor. 2015-10-25_19.19.44.mp4

2 pointsYep. My 95 520H has done that to me a hundred times in the last eighteen years. Thankfully my dash lights have always indicated to me what was wrong. Usually the motion lever or pto or seat safety switches. For me it has always been operator error and the indicator light on dash has enabled my smaller than average brain to figure out what to move....

2 points@Illinilefttackle (Al) ...Illinois...the front 4 is outstanding...nobody is going to run through Illinois this year. So, what do they need...they are close to being a great team defensively...they are driving me crazy this year trying to pick them. I still think they will make a bowl game. What do you think??

2 pointsThat's what ya get for going against the home team!!! You of all people should know better!!! Sounds like you better do a beer and donut check before you get there, Koen's whining he's out of beer. Jim wants a New deck of cards, something about Koen tearing up all the Ace's or something silly. Boy this has been a long week hoping to get back to some football this week with the Hawkeye's sitting in the right spot on top. Sure hoping that some of the guys healed up a little bit because we have five games left plus the Championship game. There's been talk of possibly going to this game. So if there might be any interest get a hold of either Dino or me (he's the main Dino) as normal. It's just in the talk stages as of Now but I'm hoping it happens! As always, Go Hawkeye's!!!

2 pointsOk. Presenting my new to me 1988 Ingersoll 446.It has the onan B43M engine. I posted pictures the other day in the wanted ads. Looking for wheel weights for this. My mistake. Anyway. Got it home yesterday and here it is. The last picture is a back to back comparison with my 522xi. Enjoy. Glenn 20151012_113141.jpg 20151012_113141.jpg

2 pointsThank you so much for the decal info. What a great sight they have..I knew joining this forum was a great thing..hope I can help others in any way possible
-
2 pointsStill retains it's nice original work clothes. hope you don't repaint it, except for maybe, just the front rims.
-
2 pointsYou will not regret replacing the new chain and idlers. Cheap insurance. I hate working on tractors and snow blowers in January with 16 inches of snow on the ground, 10 degrees and 30 knot wind. Anything I can do to prevent that is well worth the effort. Kurt

2 pointsLooks like a nice one. Just so I don't have to turn my monitor on it's side each time I look at it, I will rotate your image here. However, if you click on your image, it rotates correctly. Go figure.

2 pointsAnd the upset happened! Steve, you need to root for your home team more often! RMC
-
2 pointsSteve, doesn't the Toro/Wheel Horse 6449 seal cross to SKF 11124?
-
2 pointsI replaced the chain and the two idler sprockets today. Everything else seemed fine, no bearing play, etc. One of the idlers had a minor amount of play, probably would have been fine, but I replaced it since I was in there anyway. In the spring, I'll strip and paint

1 pointI bought this several years ago, and just shoved it back in the corner, saying it would be my next project. Well, there have been several since then, but this is the year to get-er-done! It was purchased from the original owners son who had attempted to make it electric start. Fortunately he didn't cut anything and only made a few holes. I have since removed all the additions and tried in vain to make it run with the tilliston carb. So I installed a carter and borrowed a part from one of those green ones, and now have a good runner with air cleaner. Seat if funky like most and the like most the hood needs a little work a the bottom front. I did remove all the steering linkages, and replaced the fan gear which had a tooth missing, it had also been broken at the roll pin. Removed all the parts cleaned, everything applied locktite and new roll pins, steering now is as new. I do not intend to paint it, just a little more cleaning and maybe a seat along with repairs to the hood. Almost forgot, as it has the two piece tank, that had been welded to make the leaks go away, the tank looked nothing short of awful, so I replaced the it too. Enjoy. David

1 pointYou are correct Bob...Thanks. I was looking at the WH# 1213/100443 seal for the manual 8 speeds. Sorry.

1 pointAn early K181 should have a pulse (vacuum) fuel pump. I'm putting my money on the diaphragm being bad, or one of the one-way valves is stuck. They are easy to take apart to clean and inspect, and if you need a new diaphragm, buckrancher has them.
-
1 pointWere they NOS? I went for a brain scan the other day. They didn't find anything!
-
1 pointI`m impressed Ed, nice job. I guess being hooked up to that plow frame you can angle it right and left for going around corners. LOL.
-
1 pointUpdate - Deck adjusted, Bud's stack arrived and it mounted - sweetness and pure redneck - correct for Georgia. Al those heat stressed wires! Simple crimper and some 14 ga wire in several fun colors (I'm not a purist so may make it 'perfect' sometime later - proper connectors and all. Seat interlock was intermittent until sprayed with electronic cleaner. Even found that the bad ammeter was just corroded so that's going, too. Seat pan arrived Friday from a 500 series and that plastic mess is in the trash. Runs and mows like mad! I even like the bit of smoke the engine gives off the stack with hard throttle. Reminds me of my cousins' Allis back in old NJ. Good times. Now that I know she works, I can take the winter and break her down for stripping and paint. Enjoying this immensely.

1 pointIf he engaged the parking brake while moving teh snapping noise may have been the parking pawl grinding on the gear...or breaking. Doesn't explain the sudden leakage out of both axles

1 pointAfter some thought, I decided to pass Cheesegrater to another family member for fun for a while I'll be curious to see it's evolvement. Once I bought it from the original creator and mad scientist Charlie (clintonnut), I did a few things to it like tires, a little paint here and there, etc. Who knows what will happen as long as Craig survives it
-
1 pointGood to know the Cheesegrader went to a good home Craig. I have to say I've wanted that tractor ever since I first laid eyes on it years ago. Let me be first in line for it when you are ready to pass it on
