17 pointsI decided to let them out, give them a really quick wash (can't wait until my wife is better so I have time to play) and snap a picture.

9 pointsHey everybody. Just wanted to show what I have done the old 518 h. I took the existing hydraulic lines going to the original hydraulic lift valve og put in a second valve. Made quick couplings and added a hydraulic cylinder to the dump cart I made a few years back when I bought the tractor. And now I have hydraulic dump cart, which is a very nice tool with the tractor! Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIO98S_tvdM&feature=youtu.b

8 pointsHad to open transmission and I have another to get into so I built the transmission stand. Works good.

7 pointsI decided to take a picture of some of my herd. I didn't have the time to get my 212-H in their but i will the next time i take another pic. First is my 520-H with 493.6 hours with the 60. Second is my 315-8 07 with 176 hours and is #163 i think haven't checked in a while. Third is my one and only 212-6 which is my new find with only 385 hours. Thanks! Dave

4 pointsReally excited about finding this great 854 last week. Planning on spending some time this fall getting her running nice and showing the K181 some love. Planning on restoring the old girl over the winter. I will post progress pictures here as I get the project under way.

4 points@Hank01 Put some risers on those new steps and most people won't even know what's underneath. Nice job. @Sparky Nice ramp. Just watch those composite decking boards when they are wet. I have seen them get pretty slick, especially if they have a little mildew (green stuff) on them. Don't want you sporting the RedSquare red hard hat next year.

4 pointsGreat Haul and with a U-Haul. Those are nice trailers with room to spare. and you do not not need to register it, maintain it, or have it take up space in your yard. Owning a trailer and having the Wheel Horse disease can lead to problems. Don't ask me how I know.
-
3 pointsOk...maybe not Evel Knievel quality, but it'll get my tractors in and outa the shed. My old ramp rotted out and wasn't safe for a 600# plus tractor. Built this today with new pressure treated stringers and some sort of composite decking that was left over from a friends deck project. Before someone points it out, the stringers are not evenly spaced on purpose. stringer's #2 and #4 are 30" apart (just like the wheelbase of my tractors ) this keeps the weight of the tractor always over a stringer. I know this is a lame topic but hey....its what I did all day for my tractors! Mike.........

3 pointsThat's Okay Steve, I liked what I seen Thursday Night. Even tho it was a loss on Paper, If you know football the Game showed a different story. That was one of the Best Defenses we will play this year. Utah's Defense calls themselves Sack Lake City. Because they had more sacks per game 4.2 and over all PERIOD last year. https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/stat/sacks-per-game It don't look like they are off to a good start with Zero -0- Nadda. M's offence was a little hesitant in the first 1/2 but JH and staff made adjustments and it showed in the second 1/2 Something Hoke & Crew could never do. I like what I see so far and it is only going to get better. Michigan State for a #5 Team in the nation damn near got their lunch. They better bring more than that to Ann Arbor, or they will be going home with their LIP CURLED UP! I am totally shocked with Penn State! And Northwestern did the BIG a mighty fine job. as did Minn, Ill, Mary, and Rut. I would like to thank Nebraska for the fine Job in taking out BYU's QB. How's that song go "We Get By With A Little Help From Our Friends" Everyone have a great Labor Day. ~Duke

3 pointsYou gave me inspiration to paint the wheels on the 502 yesterday. Then today i took my baby girl for a ride and got about a mile away from home it started running very bad i thought the motor was toast and it turned out to be the carburetor was almost falling off should of known it was the carb considering its a tecky.LOL Had to ride home with the hood up so i could push the carb against the block was not fun but it never gave up on me
-
3 pointsThanks Everyone. Didn't get a chance to work on this yesterday but did spend a little time on it this morning and got a few more parts blasted.

3 pointsI know Rick...RMCIII and Papaglide must love doughnuts in the basement. Looks like Michigan St. is going to have the Big Tens 1st victory this season...Illinois has a shot at having the 2nd Big Ten victory this season. Hey, I was just flicking around looking for football games...because Michigan St is 27 to 7 vs Western Michigan right now and the Illinois game does not start for another 1/2 hour. FS2 is replaying the Michigan at Utah game right now...so if you want to see Michigan loose for the 2nd day in a row...turn it on. It might be a long, long time before you get another chance like this. Sorry Bob...this cigar store Indian made me do it...gave me $5.

3 pointsThanks all, and didn't get a lot of time to spend on it today but did get a couple of parts blasted. Hope to get these and the transmission painted sometime next week and hopefully have a couple other parts ready by then too.. Tomorrow hope to dig around and see if I have whats missing of the lift setup think I may have what it needs somewhere. Also will be looking for a nice belt guard if anyone here has one they want to let go of please let me know. Thanks!

2 pointsThanks, she is getting better daily. She is actually making dinner right now, so she is happy. She likes being independent. Another month I think she may be back to normal

2 pointsWell I found yet a another project to work on. lol. Been wanting a 701 for a couple years now but just never found the right deal on one. Got this one last week. Traded a 48" mower deck for it. Its in pieces but mostly there and not in too bad of shape. Has pretty much all the hard to find parts on it which is a plus. It will probably be on hold for a while but figured I would post it for now. I want to at least finish one tractor before I start on this one but that may change. When I do start on it I will probably just build a rolling chassis and then figure out what all is missing and find them then or sooner if I'm lucky. I did get the engine running yesterday and it ran pretty good but did smoke just a little bit. It will probably be torn down to inspect and at least get a valve job and honed but whatever it needs to be right will be done. Anyways here's a couple pictures of it. Its kind of scattered all over! It had the incorrect wheels on it, but I have a good set that will be used on it.

2 pointsI think I'm going to take the cleanup rout for now, I'm in the middle of a few other restoration projects, so this little guy will need to wait anyhow, makes me just as happy looking at her with fresh paint as I am looking at her just like this. I could spend hours just admiring how cool these old WH tractors look. Stood in the shop for about an hour a few night back with one of my car guy friends , just drinking a beer and looking at it saying "man they don't make stuff this cool anymore"... think it even has the original spark plug wire and Delco internal resistor coil. .. new tires and a nice new paint job on the rims and maybe a satcover is all I think I want to do this fall along with rewiring it and a new key switch.
-
2 pointsNice find, I too will vote to leave original, you will only find it that way once.
-
2 pointsYoull never get the original paint back. Im holding on to it on my 854 and theres much less left than on yours. If you want one to restore, ill trade you! Also a great candidate for a restore, just a little less factory paint left...

2 pointsI have been thinking the same thing, I'm on the fence. She has a great look as is. Would be a great candidate to restore, but it is original paint so I'm going to need to think it over

2 pointsRoad trip completed. A few pics to show the 418C and Kwikway loader. Thats the 12 foot dual axle Uhaul trailer. Left at 5:00 am and returned at 2:00 pm @ 410 miles total. Trailer was a perfect tow both empty and returning with the load. nice start to the holiday weekend.

2 pointsThis NOS was an Ebay find for $30.00. I had a heck of a time finding a shop that would turn the crank down for anything near a reasonable price. Finally I was told about a small shop not too far from here. I took the crank in and he wasn't sure he could do one that small on his machine but was willing to give it a shot. He was successful getting it .010 under and I'm good to go.

1 pointWhen replacing car boots, Just install a reman axle. 1/3 the labor and you end up with 2 new joints and 1 more new boot!
-
1 pointI usually tend to follow manufacturers recommendations, since they put many hours into testing the overall workability of their product under various conditions with mutiple types of fluids. The only deviation that I made was to use fully synthetic oil.
-
1 pointI'm working today and I'm on lunch break. I think It would be a good idea to clean your shed out today in the heat of the day. Who knows what you'll find that you've forgotten about!
-
1 pointI would do a complete disassemble and inspection, measure and rebuild, throw out balance gears. Auction site kits are good as long as machinist does his job correctly and you assemble in clean environment. If I get a chance I will post pic of what a balance gear will do to a perfectly good motor.
-
1 pointlol those wheels really set it off that's for sure..yeah carb suckin more air than gas huh? lol in tons of pictures I see, ppl have white wheels and red lugnut heads...how do you keep them red when tightening them up with lug wrench , it always eats the paint off, when I do it. Gotta be a trick to it

1 pointUnfortunately, your machinist should be the one measuring the crank. NAPA SHOULD have given you a more accurate measurement...carried out at least 3 digits like 1.495. From an accurate measurement, the machinist can determine whether the crank needs work or not and if you need an oversize rod. You're not the first person to find out the hard way. I was.
-
1 pointTake a 12' an be done with it! Case closed!! Kind of silly question, if you ask me.
-
1 pointOMG! You do! Good eyes! Wow! What is that? Looks like door edge trim but how would that go on and stay on? Love this site! Lot's of talent here!
-
1 pointAgree with Lynn, rod/crank journal are plain bearings. You will need to look for a rod that is .010 larger on the crank end and take the crank down to spec under new rod size. Easy job for one with a crank grinder. Should be a fairly easy find on the rod. Look in the manuals section for your k91, you should find part numbers & specs there along with a tractor owners manual & tranny info as well. Lots of us here have done or are in process of going thru a Suburban so lots of good tips here. Have fun & remember .....
-
1 pointI've been meaning to put up a mug shot for a while now. Just came across this one from last summer as I was putting the finishing touches on my suburban.
