3 pointsI stopped by the show today for a few hours and as usual forgot to take some pictures for those that couldn't be here. I will take some tomorrow and get them up as soon as I get a chance. It was actually very busy today. Probably the most people I've seen on a Thursday. Lots of horse trading going on. This is what I scored on my first walk through of the vendor area. I've never seen this exact cart before so as the saying goes, "the time to buy something you haven't seen before is when it's in front of you" so I bought it. The price was surprisingly fair. It has original paint and no real rust to speak of. The rust in the bed rubs right off. Just from water sitting overnight.
-
3 pointsI will be there in spirit. Hope you all have a great time at the show.

3 pointsIf we are talking distance within UK , the farthest I have traveled is from Somerset to Manchester around 200 miles I guess , and that was to pick up my 701. but the farthest that one of my tractors have traveled is from Connecticut USA and that is my Senior & RJ35 which I bought Both from Michael Martino " author of The Wheel horse Story

3 pointsI recently got a D-200 that had been sitting for quite a while with the usual fuel related problems - rotten gas, rotten tank, brick hard lines and of course a gummed up carb. You're right, I dont think theres any way to just get the bowl off. I just went ahead to pulling the carb off, figuring it was gonna need some up close and personal attention. Sure enough the bowl had had water in it (probably from that crappy ethanol fuel) and had corroded it bad enough to have holes. Took it all apart and blew and cleaned everything up nicely with a new bowl and with new gas lines and fresh gas it fired right up --yea! So go ahead and pull it and give it a good cleaning....

2 pointsHello All, i recently picke up a very nice 520 XI with a power glow bagger. The unit has 276 hours on it. It runs and operates great although I haven't really used the bagger enough to know if I like it. I will give it a try for leaf cleanup. Well here's the pics! Take care, Mike

2 pointsI did some test fitting and put some new shoes on the trailer, and I don't have a pic of them together, but underneath is a pic of my new horse hauler I bought in December because, well, as much as I loved it, my old truck was costing me as much in repairs as this is in payments So, I figured, why not.

1 pointHello All, I did a test run tonight. Mows absolutely beautiful.......here is what I found The temp light in the dash read habitually high. It was in the yellow Upper side) when I started mowing, crept up from there. Then the gauge quit working, I went to wiggle the wires behind it, and discovered it was REALLY hot. With an infra red temp gun, the cylinder fin temperature was 250 avg. The muffler temp was 575. This is similar to a fan cooled sled engine, so I'm not too alarmed, kept mowing. This smart steer stuff is going to get bypassed somehow. I got all running lights working, and everything in the dash (aside from the oil temp) is working correctly. I'm at just over 300.00 dollars & 4-5 hours of my time invested thus far. Bought it for 200, then purchased new blades, filters, steering wheel boot & valve cover gaskets. My wife is liking that I got this size machine for a small investment. After some more investigation, I think I'm going to buy a gauge & sender from summit for the oil temp. If anyone else has temp reading from their machine, I would appreciate hearing them.

1 pointReturned home Sunday night from a long 4 day weekend adventure - 6 hour road trip, van breaking down, son puking in back seat of ma's car we borrowed, oh ya it was a trip. Sat down at about 9 pm and picked up the local shopper's guide paper. Once in a while there's a deal - but considering the paper arrives Saturday at noon, and the neighbor is worse then I am at searching, I usually don't take the time. That night things were different.... There it was - 1997 520H Wheelhorse, 44" snowblower, weights, chains, Cab, mower deck (never used), low hours, runs great. Price was unbelievable. Being late I text, got a response. Said it was 350 hours approximately. I called, he said he bought it used years back, paid alot of money - didn't use it and gave it to his daughter to use but she just couldn't handle it, too big of a tractor. Set up a time to view it - thinking someone else would sneak in to grab it. Thats ok, got plenty of bills and wasn't sure how to pay for it anyways. But alas, it was still there when I arrived Monday night. As I pulled up the driveway, I could see it parked in the garage. I knew it was going home with me. But the guy was way off on the hours...... there were only 116....... Wow - as my buddy put it, sometime God just smiles at you - So the entire package: 1997 520-H Original Brand tractor cab, with rear lights 44" Two Stage WH Blower Front Mount Kit 42" RD Deck (Mower deck and front mount kit never used) Rear wheel weights Front wheel weights Chains Rear ballast box Anyone have a ballpark of what this cost in 1997? I think the brochure showed $5295 and I'm thinking that was just the tractor correct?

1 pointAhh the ol' Chev. That thing I bought in 2002, summer before I got married (1st time, on second marriage now and found the right girl this time). It originally from Oregon -- was owned by a grandpa, he passed, grandkid in east-central wisconsin inherited it. he did a quickie paint job, put headers on and short 3" exhaust on both sides, and the rims. Drove it a few years, sold it to another grandpa guy. This guy had it for a couple years, and then sold to me. Motor was tired, but it was a fun summer toy. Christmas 05 (divorced that summer) dad cheered me up with a new motor put in it. Now it growls.... It does have some snort to it, a mild build 350. Could use an extra gear in that turbo 350 lol. It's a 1970 2wd C20 - Custom Camper edition. had the extra little door on the lower passenger side of the box for storage. it's got some rust now, body is so so, something is going to fall off and cause me to park it but I just can't sell it. I have a line on a 84 K5 Blazer for cheap, with supposedly 54k miles on it... would be a nice donor to put this 350 in.... Hmmmmm

1 pointHello, Finally a topic that I have some knowledge about, I mow about 7 acres with my 48in deck on ether one of my mowers and beleive me I get alot of seat time. Anyway I use the antiscalp rollers as a guide, just put them where the outside edge is riding at the outside of last pass, seems to give me the best cut, just my two cents.

1 pointSo basically I began my life on WH in 1992. We bought a 312 Classic with 42" SD and a single stage blower because our neighbor had a 1985 Classic 312 and loved it. Did alot of mowing - had 7 mowing jobs through high school. Graduated in 97, moved away and didn't have a rider until last summer. Meanwhile dad sells our 312 with 1300 hours on it, and buys a 1997 520-H to upgrade. I'm jealous....in fact his, when he bought it, it was 2003 or so? 2004? It had only 200 hours on it - Last summer after moving up here family gives me a 10-32 rear engine. A beater, but cuts awesome. I'm 6'2 and a little fluffy, and that little thing makes me look even more fluffy.....Too big of yard for a push mower now! Then I decide a need a bigger mower. $300 for a old wheelhorse close to my dad's. Blower included. Hey why not? Guess what - it's the neighbors 312 from 1985. He passed, the son had it and beat the living snot out of it. Hour meter broke at 878 or so, I'm guessing it has a million from the looks of it. But it runs! Dad said he'll go through it. Good guy to, he kept up that 92 model of ours great. Well, dad didn't keep track of the parts cost, and $500 later he's got my total purchase up to $800. Eh, still not bad. New blades, spindles, belts- it's ready to rock! But then I'm on Craigslist..... and what do I see? Posted 15 minutes ago - in Rhinelander where I used to live.... 1988 Model 520, snowblower, cab, runs good, $450. That doesn't seem right. I email, turns out guy I know. Ends up here - no mower deck but a two stage blower! Wow that'll move the snow!!!! After a helacious winter in 2013/2014 I figured now I was ready. Well, didn't need it. Booo. Dad wants to tinker with it, he does some painting on rusty parts, and replaces a shorting out key switch. Just got it back last weekend. The weekend I opened the paper and found the tractor above!!!! As of now I do not have a mower deck for either 520. the 88 is going up for sale when I finish up a couple things - and the older two stage. 312 is too - burns a little oil but that just adds character. I found someone whom I am going to trade the 88's snow cab for a 48" deck in good shape - so then that deck will get cleaned up and go under the 1997. The long range plan is to sell anything not bolted down, and keep my "new" tractor, blower, and cab.

1 pointIan you are once again working magic on the other side of the pond, great job man!! Its amazing how good it looks put together with only primer on it, earlier on in this build I was having a hard time imaging how it might look I love to see all the custom stuff you guys build and hope that one day I can maybe pull something cool and custom together. I have the fabrication and design background (not sure about the whacky creativity) but I always sit back and wonder how it is you gents find the time needed to accomplish such awesome custom creations?? However it is that you do keep up the awesome work

1 pointnone of that list sounds too hard for a "strange bloke with a cutter and a welder"! is there any caster adjustment in the steering to help it find it's center? you'll need to find a comparable sized car's specs to have it aligned
-
1 pointYES ... roof!! Its Florida ... its friggen hot down here!!! My brother is taking the early shift with mom, so I am working on the horse in the morning when its cool ... you know, in the 80's!! Bought 76 feet of aluminum stock for the roof project, heres the first little bit, ready to run the wiring cables... have to run steel cables first, so welder boy doesn't melt the wires ... then pull the real wires in when it cools!!
