So here I am, two days out from leaving for the big show, and at 6:30 this morning, I'm in the garage painting the black on the front of my hood. Well as of this weekend, I had serious doubts that this 416-H "refresh" would be wrapped up in time. But, I have persevered, and here is where I am 7 hours after putting the last paint on. and 5 month, 23 days after starting the project. I think she's coming to the show.

I had this set of hubcaps on the shelf that I was going to bring to the show to sell but then thought maybe throw them on the 520-8 in honor of Ken B ... A few people wanted some close up pics of the hood. Here they are. Terry's decals are great !

As many years as I have attended and been invited to join in, never made it. I'd like to hang out a little later this year and tip a few back with the crowd.

Cant make it this year or next, but here's to 2017! We'll be there in spirit!

Oh yeah....a tent flying through the air and me dangling from a rope....kind of like parachuting!

NO Problem! Take it for a ride with your son too! Actually, ANYONE who asks is more than welcome to take her for a spin. Very simple centrifugal clutch drive so just put it in gear, hit the gas and go. This one doesn't pull wheelies like the last one, bunch of added weight up front this time. Don't worry about anything breaking either, it's still under warranty!

Did you spell WIFE wrong? I forgot you weren't able to make it this year. Bummer!

Too Late Richie, got'em on tonight! I don't like these new fenders compared to the older type I used for the last one but oh well Got some more done. Sparky will like those cushions!

It is pretty much done. Need to do some more touch up and cleaning and paint the rims. Going to get footboard pads from Eldon at the show and a shifter cover. Overall nice clean worker.

Yes I use the gun although i think it is time for a new one as this one was giving me so fits during this project. Must have been all that John Deere green that was run through it!!!!!

Bill, I pulled out all my plaques, and I seem to be missing the 14th Annual Wheel Horse Show plaque from 2012. Would you have one of those extra? Please. Thanks Bill

For the photo op... you gotta let the Squonk and Dino drive the new clown car.

I wish! The 2 yr old could probably manage, but the 6 month old has learned to scream so loud it makes your ears bleed... I will NOT subject myself to 7 hours of that! I'm putting in some orders for tractor parts and hope to put in some garage time this weekend in honor of The Big Show!

An short excerpt from last years shenanigans... no Duke in this video, as he was off trying to coax Karl to leave his camper and come out to play. This one you may hear the after effects of Duke's apple cider jug after making it's rounds.

Here are a few pictures of the rear seat pan I have for the C series Blackhoods. It is in excellent condition. $75 to members here. At the show I will be asking more. I also have a canvas snow cab that needs new plastics and some work. It was part of a package on a 1054 I bought 2 years ago. it too is loaded up. My truck is loaded up. I have seat brackets, 6x12 tires mounted on rims, front burban rims and tires, front tach a matics, side panels for 300,400 and 500 series, mule drive, pto assemblies etc. All the smalls parts will be priced to sell. They are going there one way ONLY !!! lol

@buckrancher Are you bringing the fire pit? Last year, there were a few surprised passed around at the campfire. I think some of it came right straight from the hills of West Virginny or somewhere like that. The stuff kind of shined in the moonlight. Always hotdogs, bratwurst and who knows what available from my cooler. And if Mike doesn't have his way with them, there might even be a few of Mrs. M's cookie bars left.

Just wanted to show off my new Toy. I think it's my fathers day gift. It was at a auction today. Wasn't going to go because I didn't think I could afford it but my dear sweet wife said you never know & told me to go anyway. It's a 855 with a Freeman Pony Loader.

Do NOT use a torque wrench to take something off that is frozen. You will go over the capacity of the wrench and it will be out of calibration. Get a breaker bar, 1/2 inch or 3/4 drive or as others have suggested, an impact wrench.

On one of my 520's I ended up cutting the shaft to get it out then just for grins I put it in my 20 ton press. No go, I had to heat it red hot with an acetylene torch then it still took all the 20 ton press could do to push it out. Never saw anything like that before. I bought a replacement on ebay and gave it a good coat of never seize so it will come out again if needed. Cleat

The 10 hp was OK but, the 16 hp Briggs purrs along, no sweat. Found an old Simplicity Landlord, scrap, the 16 hp we're using after some TLC.

I have never had any problem. I have shipped with them three times. Once I initiated the paperwork, the other two times it was started by the receiving party. I used the link that Craig posted above, and within hours I had a quote or an inquiry to clarify details. The only time that I had an issue was when I wanted to send something to Denver, Co. They are too busy at the Colorado locations to take 3PL shipments. Must be all that marijuana.

Just to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, he may have been measuring his deck incorrectly, measuring the overall width instead of the actual cutting width. Just a thought.

Did a little TLC on the 855 today. it had duals when I bought it but I had to take the outers off to load. the inter was 8.5 x 12 and the outer was a 6 x 12. also found out the inters were not loaded so I had a pair of loaded 6 x 12 so I put both sets on and some hub caps I had laying around. also put a more comfortable seat on. still got to put some counter weight on back & clean up

I like it! It's sized better for the tractor than most I see.

Will be bringing my stock puller to sale. It's a 1970 Raider 12 with a 16 hp 13 fin kohler. $1800.00 If you want any detailed info shoot me a PM. It does have an 8 pinion in the rear and includes front weight bar not in the picture

The more overlap you have the more seat time you get, may want to half-lap and get even more seat time!

I believe 3-6 psi is what a carbureted auto requires. Too much pressure for the small float on a small engine. 1-2 psi should be plenty. http://www.facet-purolator.com/cube-fuel-pumps.php Garry

The biggest surprise with this machine was that the original decal was still on it just before I picked it up. Apparently it had been painted over (which preserved the face), but had fallen off while in storage in my brother-in-laws trailer. My BiL found it about a month after I took it home and I was able to get the paint off without too much damage to the face. So at least I know the correct serial number, and thereby a rough date of manufacture.

Those are pretty darn cool but I don't think I can register as an exhibitor just bringing a tractor or maybe two just to deliver to their new owner(s).

Yes I imagine it would and that was actually my first thought but I keep all my tapes in a drawer together so when I went to go the electrical I saw the Teflon and thought that was even a better choice. The worn area on my spindle shafts was only as wide as the blade so I kind of folded the Teflon to fill in just that area. And like you said once you tighten the nut it holds everything in place. Ive mowed with my deck like this about 3 times now and everything seems to be in place still because its much quieter then it was.

Ahh! And so it begins, now you have two tractors and all those attachments. Now you will need a third tractor so you can save time switching attachments, and then the Wheel Horse addiction begins............!!!!

This is a reply to a post Brandon has removed so you guys don't think I'm being repeditive, or think I'm going crazy. Flipping is flipping Brandon. Definition from Wiki - Flipping is a term used primarily in the United States to describe purchasing a revenue-generating asset and quickly reselling (or "flipping") it for profit. Restoring and reselling is completely different from flipping. Takes a lot of hard work, time and cash invested to restore and resell. No one should ever even consider me a flipper when I am doing this - Before - After -
