9 pointsWell it's 0 degrees and there's nothing else to due so I decided to re due the barn. I sold some tractors and move some out for other members to enjoy. Don't worry everybody I'll fill the barn back with more wheel horses tractors eventually. The loader with attached forks worked great for putting tractor in the rack and as well taking them down. I started Saturday at 10 am to Sunday 3am. I was frozen as the wind chill was -15 but I'm from Buffalo where use to these winters...

8 pointsSo aM I sick? Do I need a Dr? It looks so much at home in the house.... I was surprised when she got home the girlfriend didnt say much other than it doesn't look right over there in the corner...It belongs in the great room. Its more open.....
-
7 pointsDo it while you can. I tried that with a Kubota a few years ago. Wifey said she'd use it to dig my grave.
-
6 pointsA side note. Picked up this almost perfect dozer snow blade for the 5xi Friday. Glenn

4 pointsUnfortunately, Chessie will be grown up by the time your son is 5. We have three old cats (15 years old) that sleep most of the day, and eat the rest of the time. They are indoor cats and have never known a good day's work. But I wouldn't trade 'em for anything. Here's two of them. The third is probably in the kitchen eating!

3 pointsWow! Lots of very helpful info guy. Can not thank you enough. Hopefully it will get me through the next couple storms, and I will give it new fluids/fillers/grease. As far as the blower goes, I plan on dis assembling, sand blasting, and goin the whole nine yards. It looks like the previous owner did a halfway decent job on maintence. Oil, and trains oil looked ok, and grease everywhere. I will take some better pictures once the snow stops, and post them up. I am shocked that it has the bones of a 420 lse, but the thing has just been hacked in a few spots. For such an expensive tractor the po really did not care about astetics. This was a worker. Hopefully the wheelhorse rescue league can bring this one back to life thanks guys!
-
3 pointsEngines numbers are all correct for a 420 LSE and I see a chrome DCL, hydraulic lift lever, and belt release lever. Many modifications/changes, but the foundation is there.

3 pointsIf you put it in front of the couch, it would make a great coffee table! Just be sure to use coasters so you don't ruin the patina! Thanks for sharing and yes, I'm envious!

3 pointsI think I can, I think I can, yup just checked the work schedule and there's nothing there! I'll be there. Possibly bringing some New weights into the fold. Shall we say rj weights for the front axle. See Ya then

2 pointsI have a couple of Beagles Emma is on the right and is Bruno's Mom. Typically they aren't allowed on the furniture but sometimes they forget.. I wasn't off the couch for two seconds and they decided to make themselves comfy. They are both very friendly though Bruno is more of a people dog... Emma's best friend is FOOD and if given half a chance she'll take it right out of your hand. (not mine though) Then there is Kia, the cat I rescued at work. She was born in the wild but is the friendliest cat you will ever meet.. The three of them get along great and you will often find the three of them curled up together in front of the wood stove. Kia even lets the two mutts sleep in HER bed..

2 pointsAdded the shield. Works great. Allthough its wayyyyy to pricey for a piece of metal. Imho Glenn And it works great.

2 pointsTell her it's better then going out parting all the time or doing drugs. At least your home all the time when playing around with the tractors. Also tell her it's a good invest for the future it's like a classic car as it gets older it's worth more. "Build the Barn" Chapter 15 page 23 5:20 a quote from the Wheel horse Gods
-
2 pointsGlad you posted these pictures; my wife now knows how few I have. Now she is fearful I will build a bigger barn and add to the herd.

2 pointsThanks Richie.. There is plenty of space behind the seat for a panel across, I'm not sure if it needs it or not, but it would add extra strength across the back.. Something to think on me thinks More metal work, starting with a small patch at the front.. Chopped.. And patched back up.. Only a bit longer.. Rear panels mostly tacked in place... I was standing on the GT 14+2's seat to get this high up photo Mostly welded up and hit with red oxide to get it all one colour.. When I first put the pan back on I wasn't sure I liked the shape or not.. Maybe the "dropped" bit's should of gone down at an angle? Maybe the top of the drops should have more curve? Anyway, with a seat plonked on and a couple of exhausts sticking it looks a little better.. What do you guy's think? And for your viewing pleasure, here's the latest video.. Enjoy.

2 pointsJust picked this jewel up today, looks ruff, but runs good, has a 3point and a ark 550 loader, and new rear tires, and a wt box, will take it apart this spring and make it look better! And I almost forgot to add it has power steering, made from a John Deere 400.

2 pointsPlan to be there Thursday morning. Camping under the trees with a great bunch of RS folks. Will have a tractor or two to display hopefully between Maynard and VINYLGUY again. Don't know if I'll have anything to sell. Currently the only thing on my wish list is a pair of 6x12 rims and a Ranger L-157 snow plow. Today it's another below zero morning with no new snow [emoji30]. I can't wait for June. [emoji2]. Sent from my tractor seat.

1 pointAdded this to the fleet today: I haven't researched the model year yet, but this is a late 1980's/early 1990's Ford LGT-14D diesel tractor. It looks as nice in person as it does in the pictures. I don't know much about these Jacobsen-sourced machines, but I've long liked them. The fact that it's a smoker seals the deal. I'm still into Wheel Horses, but I also have a thing for diesels. This blue one adds another color of the spectrum to my growing diesel fleet that includes a green Deere 332, an orange Simplicity 7790, a Yellow Cub 1512, and a RED WHeel Horse 523Dxi. Who knows where the nonsense will stop. The good news for you fellow horse nuts (!) who thought I completely fell off the wagon is that is that I recently let two Deere out of the stable to accomodate the Ford. Now I'm back to just the one Weekend Freedom Machine (and it ain't going anywhere!). The best part of all of this, however, was that I got to meet a fellow Redsquare member who lives right here in River City: Ben "4xfourfun". Great guy! Steve

1 pointI would say you should keep the round hood where it is and add a black hood for the coffee table/catch all. Notice I said ---you should. Ron

1 pointGlenn, that single stage seems to be doing a find job. The two stage unit is very heavy and not as easy to move around and mount and dismount. With that fence on the side of the driveway I can see where the snow blower is good to have. I believe you have a heated vehicle with a plow but maybe try your new plow on the 522xi to see how that unit works for the wet, heavy stuff? The rear wheels should be interchangeable with the 520H to avoid another set of chains and weights just to check out the 522xi with the plow. By the way, we are one day closer to spring which does tend to bring more of the wet, heavy stuff due to the higher temperatures (at least we can hope). Even thought we may have other means, more seat time on our horses is what keeps us smiling.
-
1 pointNice setup! There has been very little snow in Southern Wisconsin. I'm jealous, but also a little concerned because we need snow cover for winter crops.

1 pointAs to your comment about the wheels looking to be painted but no rust, i did read where Wheel Horse had some left over chrome wheels and they painted them and used them on other models. You may have those wheels. I did know the models that likely had them and I remember looking out for a tractor with those wheels.
-
1 pointBy the way, I have a new hood for an LSE. There are no decals on it but it does have the pre-drilled holes for the identification plate. One nice thing about a tractor purchased and used for winter duty is the engine has not been exposed to the high heat and dust of summer duty. They also tend to have lower hours on them. It would be good to see if more history is available for the tractor. With blower and cab, that was a great deal even if it was not based on an LSE.

1 pointbeen so busy here lately haven't had the time to get the old girl back to working still have a few things to workout
-
1 pointNice look Ian. Should be nice all welded together. Are you going to have a panel going across behind the seat or is there not enough room? I think that would dress it off nice kind of like setting the seat in its own little pocket. Either way it looks good.
-
1 pointThanks James, I'm trying to keep a hint of Wh to the fender pan to keep it looking right. This morning started with some cardboard templates to try and work out what would look right.. But before I could turn the cardboard into steel I need to A... Make the center bit first.. And B.. Find some steel to make it out of! Treasures from the scrap pile Adding a curve to the center bit.. Yes that is a broom handle I'm about to fold the metal around As it turned out the curve was a tad too tight so it was reshaped around a scaffold pole.. As Nigel (thanks mate ) has a bead rolling machine I thought I'd put it to good use and roll the traditional Wh swage line in the back.. And now the part which ties the arches and center section together... I need to tweak the shape a little and add the swage line tomorrow, then it can be welded in... I have to say I'm quite chuffed about how the back end has come together A view from underneath.. The flanges will be staying as they will add a handy bit of strength to things once they are plug welded together. The flange will also be used for mounting the fender pan, keeping the mounting bolts nicely hidden away..
-
1 pointThanks Bob for starting the countdown! Never too early to get ready. I'll be there and will have the smallest tent out there! Brining the Work Horse in order to add a little "Grey" to the sea of Red! now, should I take the plow off yet....

1 pointHere's a little update on the 59. Started painting some stuff on friday, got some done, but not everything. Also reprimed the other parts and got them sanded and ready for paint. I'm going to merge the 57 with this thread for now, as its all getting painted together at the same time. Today I put the 57 frame back together and glued some tank straps in it. Anyways here's some pictures of whats been painted, and the stuff that was reprimed/sanded. Hope to have most of this stuff painted by the end of the week. Gear case cover back on These were painted, but got messed up a little bit, so they were scuffed and will get repainted The tank straps glued in, I've done this on several tractors now, and it has worked well. And some shiny red parts(In case your wondering, yes this is my closet. ) The top 2 pictures are for the 57 and bottom 2 or for the 59 Will add more pictures as more stuff gets painted
