I'm hiding. We're busy switching the business over to mostly Wheel Horse this month and making a lot of changes. Our official business name change is looking like it will be close to Feb 1. We've bought and sold quite a bit and adding something new this coming weekend. We have a goal for every month this year and a 3 year plan to make this thing big, so big I can't even believe it myself. Started in Jan, Feb is finish a part of the shop into a full parts fabrication section month, start getting a product list together for our store, getting all the details out for our 1st annual Spring show, and get ready for March when we will start buying like we never have before. We have already made a place for tractor inside storage at the farm that will hold over 500 more Horses. This is what we've decided we're doing the rest of our lives so it is full steam ahead.

It's been a while since I added to the WH side of the collection, but today I aquired a pretty nice 603. It has a few minor issues here and there, but with a little elbow grease and some attention I think it's going to be a pretty nice little rig. The original Techy runs quite well - even though I'm not a fan. The steering wheel is super mint.

Plowed snow again today...It never ceases to amaze me how much these lil tractors do. The 18 Auto is down again...yeah I know...Imagine that...lol.... So Jebs Lil Charger 12 as he calls it has been pulling plow duty with its 42" blade. Heres a vid or 2 of it working and one from 6 months ago of it working at something a bit different around the farm.....

I was cruising the back allies of my small home town today and spotted a Wheel horse from a long ways away! I went around the corner and down the next ally and found this oldie buried under some snow! It looked like a Bolens at first with all the snow on it. But after closer inspection I see it is a WH. I talked to the owner and he said he just got it last week with the big Farmall tractor that is next to it. I asked if it was for sale and he said sure. I looked it over and he said it was a 654. It has a 654 drive belt guard on it but after I checked it out further, I could tell it was a 1961 Model #701, one of my favorites! It has the wrong hood and is missing the seat and spring and the double starter generator belt guard is missing too. No big deal since I have one on the shelf. All else looks good including the Kohler motor is loose and intact. He said for me to make him an offer so I said $75.00 and he said no, but he would take $150.00 for it. I said I would go that high on it. I got his phone number and said I would get it next week or next weekend. He said he had some more WH's in the barn, a Raider 12, a Lawn Ranger, a 654 and a very nice old 1958 WH! I said I would like to see the 1958 Horse but he said these weren't for sale. I asked if I bought the other one, if I could see the 1958 tractor and he said yes. So I will get back to him later to get the 701 and see the oldie in the barn. I was hoping it was older than 1958 and maybe I would try to buy it anyways! I will keep ya all posted on this deal!

This is the best I have at the moment. The cab I just got mounted a month or two ago. Haven't really taken any pictures of it in the current configuration but here are pictures of the parts and pieces on there own. Don't have a picture of the monster wheel weights. Got to love the real hydraulic 4 way plow! The snow blower has it's own hydraulic piston to do the lifting. I'm gonna add a hydraulic motor for the chute rotation.

So now I know where all the horses have gone and will go for the foreseeable future, great. Sometimes this hobby starts to feel less fun.

I moved this post here. Did not mean to hijack the thread it was in As many of you know I bring something special to the Big Show each year for the RedSquare members who post back to me. The first year it was Red Square coffee cups. Last year it was personalized RedSquare magnets. This year I am bringing RedSquare Wheel Horse Popcorn. I will have 12 ounce sample bags for all who are going to the show. We are a little less than 5 months so start replying so I can make a list of members. I Want to make sure I buy enough but dont want to buy more than I need. The bag in the following image is a 32 ounce. 12 ounces still makes a bunch of popcorn. RESERVE YOUR BAG NOW!!!!

I don't see that Geno is going to hurt the rest of us who do this as a hobby. Yes he will drive hundreds of miles to buy tractors. but when he does he buys a collection of five or more. Sometimes as many as 30 at one time. For him it is not profitable to drive 50 to a hundred miles for one tractor. For me I will drive two hundred miles to get one if it is something I want. He could not survive doing that. The good thing for me is I just made a great deal for a 520-H with 60 in deck and he is going to hold it for me till I can get it. And the price was exactly what I thought it was worth to me. Of course I really am a hobbyist. I buy a Wheel Horse and I restore it. That's why I buy it. The fun of doing the work is what I get out of it. I would never sell one to make any money for any reason. My belief is that if you do this and then resell them, you are in fact running a part time business. Now before anyone gets their panties in a knot, I personally don't care one way or another what the other guy does. I am sure we all love what we do with these wonderful machines. If anything I am jealous of Geno. He has a beautiful wife who supports him in everything he does and has turned his hobby into a business that he gets to work right alongside his wife in. If is was a bit younger I might try that myself. Can it get any better than that?

Met up with a Red Square member(wheelhorse2007) last weekend to buy his 516H tractor for parts. It is nice to meet a another member here and as usual, he is a very nice guy! Thanks Steve for meeting me most of the way to my house with the machine in tow! I appreciate that a lot! The tractor is in good condition and all there except for the motor which I don't need anyway. I was going to scarf the wiring harness from this and put it on my very nice 516 H, but it is too nice to rob parts from it. So I will leave it intact and maybe look for a motor for it instead. Anybody have a good 16hp Onan for sale?

Well I just sold my 522xi with the two stage blower on it, but its replacement is ready to go. I just finished adding the linear actuator to the chute deflector, and I used a power window motor to rotate the chute. I have a front blade and bucket loader for the Kubota as well. I still have a 522xi for sale with a blade on it that will probably get some exercise too. Rick

The forum support member's discount for 2015 has been lowered to 20% from 30% but that is not bad news for supporters of this great forum. The good news is your discount will always be on top of any store wide discounts or sale prices. Starting January 26th we will be initiating a 20% discount on all items in the Wheel horse Category for all customers at redoyourhorse.com a 20% store discount on top of your support member discount (which is visible any time you are logged into your account on the web store) will give you a total discount of 36% off retail prices that non-support members see when viewing the store. (example) a $55 retail item will show priced at $44 for support members when logged in. When you put the item in your cart and view your cart, any current store discounts will be in addition to your member price. ie $44 member price minus 20% sale discount = $35.20 a 36% discount. This change allows us to offer discounts and specials to everyone who visits the website. Discounts will always be at least 5% or more and will change from time to time. Feb 1st the storewide discount will drop to 5% which still gives paid support members a healthy 24% actual discount. If you are a forum support member and have not registered on my site you can REGISTER HERE make sure to enter your forum username when creating your account so i can verify your support status. Also this year we are continuing free shipping on all orders to anywhere in the US If you would like to take advantage of the support members discount and the many other benefits of being a forum support member simply go to the forum STORE and pick a support plan that works for you. Thank you all for your continued support of this largest and best Wheel Horse Forum in the world. We look forward to seeing you at the 2015 BIG SHOW this year. Sincerely Terry, Lola & Buddy

Geno I admire what you are doing, a modern day wheel horse dealership seems a great idea to me. It is a good thing that you are saving the horses as opposed to seeing them turn into rust in a junk yard or sitting in someone's yard wasting away. I admire you and Sandra for your hard work in mixing your hobby and business and still enjoying it as a hobby. I believe that when you get everything up and running, we'll all appreciate and enjoy what you're doing.

+1 w/ 520 H snow cab and 44" dual stage.... actually tempted to just stay inside for the whole storm and see if it can handle it all, BUT I know the "kid at heart" in me doesn't want to miss out on any seat time.

No I do not plan on it. I am planning on bringing bags to give away to Red Square members at the BIG SHOW if I can get a bulk discount from my local grower. I designed and made graphics for the display racks they put in the stores that handle their products. You can check them out @ pilotknobcomforts.com

Well here in central Ohio we only got a mere 5 inches of the white stuff! Bummer for my snow plow rig, a 1974 A90 Special! I fired it up anyways and let it fly. The county snow plow didn't even bother to go down my road so I did part of my road and my one neighbor did part of the road too with his new fangled Cub Cadet tractor. Then I did my driveway and my neighbor ladies driveway too just for fun. It took about 2 hours to do all of this. This is the first time I got to use my snow plow this winter! So far we haven't got much snow this year, not like most of you guys are getting!

Well Geno, go for it. I did exactly the same thing you are planning. Back in the late 80's early 90's I was buying all the WH I could find and there is a lot of them out there. One day I looked around and had a 40x65 building full a 24x36 building full a 30x42 building full and a 24x48 building full. I came to a quick conclusion that I will NEVER get all these tractors running let alone restored. Had over 200. So in 2008 had a auction sold all but 10 that I hand picked to keep. Now I am back to 46. But I can work on them at my pace. I only buy certain models now not everything out there.

You get one post and this is a bad site all of a sudden? No need for another cable. Simply crimp the rivot holding the lever down tight with plyers and see if that works. If not, drill head of the rivot off and replace with a bolt and nylon lock nut. Tighten it to your desired friction.

I am oh so ready! and if need be, I have these to deal with the snow: Everyone, good luck and stay warm!

I will be using my recently "traded" for 314H. I used it the other day in the 8 inch storm we got and it did pretty good. (yes I do have chains on it.) The only thing I don't like is the location of the DCL. I hate that. If it sticks around long enough Matt's foot control kit is a MUST. Backing up the 314 is a Toro 7/24 walk behind that I picked up a few yrs. ago at a swap meet for 75 bucks. Its the best 75 bucks I've ever spent!

We'll you asked so don't blame me! I'll be using my John Deere 317 with cab and snow blower. 180 pounds of wheel weights and chains. Also have about 180 pounds of suitcase weights on the 3 point in the back. I know it's not a WH but it's never failed me yet! Also have an older Toro 624 walk behind snow blower as back up that's works great.

I was suprised to find that there were no high quality spare tire mounts for the front of my enclosed trailer without drilling holes in the front of the trailer itself. That was ridiculous to me. I wasn't going to go at the front of my trailer with a drill. So, I decided to build my own bolt-on. I had it powder coated and came out exactly the way I wanted it.

Tinkering with my led light bar in the house tonight. Very windy and cold outside. They claim snow is coming for us but nothing yet. So I have been mocking things up. Stainless 1 inch, Led floods , and just got done wiring the lights. Can't wait to install it. Gonna use it unpainted until spring, then tear it down for paint along with cab frame.

As many of you know, my daughter Megan does a lot of singing. Yesterday she went to an audition for the Voice in NYC. It was an open audition where there were literally thousands who showed up. Well, she's one of the VERY few who will be returning for a second stage test. So, I am listening to Megan rehears. If things go well, we'll watch her on the Voice!
