5 pointsSorry haven't been on much guys, we've been working on restoring Horses night and day trying to keep up with demand. Will try to get a few pics of them on here somewhere. It's a great job to have though! Thought I would put up a pic of the new help...

4 pointsThis particular tractor was purchased "just to get me through winter plowing" while I located a new engine for my 520H. I don't know who had it before WHfan74 but Scott cut me a deal and Tom hauled it my way on one of his trips through Indiana. It ran so nice and I found it a very capable machine the more I worked it. Most of you are collectors and I've had my fair share of them over the years but this one really surprised me. I put a 48" deck under it and it cut my lawn with 1/2 the fuel my 520H. Even if the lawn got away from me in the spring it still did a decent job in tall grass situations. I have bad shoulders so I converted the front end to the forward swept axle and gear reduction steering. I put the 8.5" 520H rear rims on it to match. Being a huge fan of the hydro I didn't like the ground speed so after some reading I purchased a 5.5" hydro engine pulley from Kelly. 2nd gear hi and 80% throttle works perfect and I saved additional fuel and got the job done 15 minutes sooner. My ***ONLY*** dislike it reverse is to fast and you really have to watch it. I just plowed some with it today and took a few pictures of it. The charging system works perfectly. This is now my favorite Wheelhorse I've owned since I've started.

4 pointsDoc, I hear ya. Years ago, we did a focus group session for design of a user interface / touch panel for medical equipment. We assembled several "thought leaders" from major hospitals across the country, placed them together in a room, asked very specific questions about push button locations , icon look, coloration and wording on the screens. We even video taped the session so to avoid any issues with "no, that's not what I said." We gained group consensus on all the above items before proceeding. A working software model of the interface was created within 15 minutes after the users approved of all the items and the "perfect interface" was presented to the user group within a half hour after they approved it. NOT ONE OF THEM LIKED IT ! AT ALL!

4 pointsThat one is my fav also Zieg. The 14 Magnum is not to be under estimated. Mine will be 28 in April and has been in the family since new. I never had anything it wouldn't do and the fuel consumption is pretty beyond belief. That is one you should keep for sure! Here is mine, original paint too. We did upgrade the factory rear tires a few months ago -

3 pointsI took several piles of parts from donor tractors and built this from scratch. It's not a 1045, but it is proof that if you can dream it, you can build it.

3 pointsI have a 4-14 for snow duty also. This was a picture from last year when we actually had snow to plow. She is patiently waiting. This one is an all original survivor that is great all around condition.

3 pointsVery nice!!! I had a 520h w 110 hours. Needed a little work so I swapped my friend for his 314h w 175 hrs. Never looked back!

3 pointsThe 414-8 with the Kohler Magnum. Great machine! Hey, it's red isn't it! Sorry Mr. Greene!

2 pointsThis cultivator came with my 867. PO said he knew nothing about it. It doesn't look like it will mount to the rear sleeve hitch. Is it missing something? Does it fit under the tractor? Does it not go with my 867? Is it not Wheel Horse? What is it? Thanks for your help.

2 pointsChuck, this is great!!! I was in sales and I can't tell you how many of these solutions I sold thru the years. Just about every one of my accounts had to own one. The problems and upgraded features were always fixed in the next software release too!!!

1 pointOut of my garage and into a work space where I don't park cars. It's got heat and air plus lots of light and lots of electrical outlets. Still needs paint, landscaping, entrance ramp and a whole lot inside. Here's a few photos.

1 pointJust as the title reads i was thinking.... (what in its self is dangerous) but it still is a little chilly to go in the garage and start the real work i have a 654 that is getting a complete redo and a 604 with no spark and needing some tlc so i do have a little work ahead of me so why not even f dream of more.. so here it is i am laying it all on the table i am dreaming of taking some parts and building myself a tractor do you guys think this would work? first think of finding a fairly nice donor frame with a cool hood it has neat lines then add a set of these what you think looking good with the parts now a little some of this stuff is there any way that i could end up with this not really sure what the first one is but i really like the 1045 and as the saying goes "if you cant find one build one."

1 pointBut if i make it go fast....... they wont have time to look and see......

1 pointWhat is the width? There is a SP-36 in an October 1, 1954 price list but it is adjustable to 3 positions. Likely for the 1955 model year and $22.00. Garry

1 pointHoping to fire mine this afternoon if I can get off the darn forum
-
1 pointSo other than that one is just as heavy duty as the other... Interesting.
-
1 pointWell, it's been cold so I didn't wander to the garage very fast but I finally got some pictures. Snapped a couple of pictures of the snow removal team for this year. The C195 and the 520xi will take care of that this year. I'm waiting for some more snow to fall as what we got the other day was heavy and wet, it doesn't throw very well. I am definitely going to need chains and weights which I Now have taken care off. Thanks to baerpath who picked a couple sets of case weights for me. While I am here, thinking about repopping the C195 rear weiights?? They seem to be a valuable commodity and very hard to locate.

1 pointVery nice, it should handle all the white stuff with ease.

1 pointFull field on a dc generator is when the field coils inside the generator are connected directly to ground and not thru any external resistors (those wire wound elements on the bottom of the reg). Full fielding causes maximum voltage output from the generator.
-
1 pointThat is how the reg works. Full field or partially on and switching rapidly between those two voltages - thus "averaging out" to 14.something. This is also why the relay contacts BUZZZZZZZZZZZ. If you can correct the over voltage by removing the field wire, the issue is the reg or the reg wiring. Glad it worked out for you.

1 pointThanks guys! Yeah when I heard what happened I was angry. Actually angry at myself for selling it (Just like the Senior)! But live and learn. I only sold the C-200 because I was sent a PM and offered more then twice what I had into it! Plus I got money for delivering it to boot! I guess I can't really complain seeing as it's my fault in the first place

1 pointMine used to have a manual lift, but the Butler strained his left arm to the point that he couldn't shake my martini. I had no option but to upgrade to the Rolls hydro.

1 pointReminds me of when I was teaching and wanted to get the students' attention. I would use my magic pen that could write any color. I would then spell out "Red, Green, Blue, etc." - and they would fall for it. It was a question of semantics. Never be an expert in a Court of Law though. That was Rule #1 when I was a Certified Safety Professional - unless being paid!
-
1 pointLooks to me like watching are Elected Officials. You got a room full of future leaders of Government and Industry there.

1 pointJust like being at work. Thanks for sharing. I unfortunately can relate.

1 pointHere is the link to the lights - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005H5OXA6/ref=gno_cart_title_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A7DC3EDEBQG4S I mounted them in a piece of 1/4 inch aluminum channel stock I bought at Sears then used double stick tape to mount it to the seat bracket

1 pointYou may be closer than you think. When you bring it home check for chrome under the paint on the rear wheels. Some "C's" had "LSE" rear wheels. Steve

1 pointJohn the video shows the lift flag mounted at 5:18 and on the floor at 8:00. How close are the poles you have tried to use? Seems like some trial and error would get you a dimension you could work with. Or you could just drop by and we could get one made.

1 pointI have a Saw Stop in my shop. A few yrs. ago one of the guys I worked with nearly lost four of his fingers.. I told him twice that he was running the wood thru way too fast and that he was getting WAY too close to the blade with his hand and fingers. What happened next was the probably the worst thing I've had to witness thus far in all of my 46 yrs. Four fingers all cut more than half way off. John had many yrs. of experience but he was having a bad day and it just got MUCH worse. He was out of work for 8 months and to this day he can barely move his fingers. His hand is always cold and he can barely hold onto things. he has since retired and he is only 57 yrs. old. A few weeks after his accident we bought the Saw Stop. If my memory is correct I believe it cost 6 grand. (Personally, I miss the old Delta) Anyone that intentionally puts their fingers into a Saw Stop is a MORON. I use the table saw on a daily basis,, I treat it like a regular saw, I don't rush anything when I'm using it no matter how much work they feel like dumping on me. There were three guys in my shop, now it's just me. Last week while I was in the middle of cutting a full sheet of plywood someone came up behind me and tapped me pretty hard on my shoulder to get my attention.. When I didn't stop what I was doing he did it again. REALLY? When I was finished I shut the saw off, turned around and before he said a word I calmly told him to get the hell out of my shop and that he is lucky I don't knock him out. I could care a less if he is a manager or not, ain't my boss... The big emergency? He needed an extension cord.
