She is always making something. She got creative with the colored sharpies. I cut her a negative logo template but she did the rest. Nice to be someones #1.

As you enter into Christmas, I wanted to take a moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe, warm and Happy New Year!

and all through this place, no preparations being made.. in a hurry or in haste. It's just us for the dinner that we''ll have Christmas Day.. no guests to provide for or Grandchildren at play. With family so scattered and giving their own such great care.. If I thought they could make it I'd even grow hair. But alas though my family cannot be here.. Families are funny this time of the year. They come from far places and not always with decorum.. they will sneak up behind you from your favorite tractor forum. There's no rhyme or reason as to why they have opted.. to single me out and make me feel adopted. These Santas of Redsquare don't always use a red sleigh.. they send their gifts out in a much craftier way. It's a white truck they hail While the Drummer Boy's drummin'.. It says U.S. Mail they call it a Grumman. Squonk and Stevasaurus the Double S Gang I hear.. the Sons of Malarkey should quiver in fear. As they make their rounds with Rock and Rye on their breath.. if they think you've been naughty they'll just "Nice" you to death. Then with a wink and a nod and some Hardy Har Hars*, in the mail will come two Redsquare Calendars!! So I'll step outside tonight and shout to all who can hear it.. the Santas of Redsquare have truly lifted my spirit. Sometimes I'm a bit grumpy and have a short fuse.. but I wouldn't trade you two fer nuttin' except a pair of new shoes! Now mount up these steeds you're off to a great start.. as I stand back here and Thank You from the bottom of my heart. *No Ho Ho Ho's were harmed in the writing of this ridiculous pathetic excuse for a poem. Haha Two calendar arrived in the mail for me today. I tried to attach photos but they "failed". Don't know why. Might try to add them in another reply.

If you were towing with this you would have had no breakdowns and would not have had to stop for gas!

Bought this 42" Wheel Horse blade today, might not be a full size Fisher truck plow but I saw it on Craigslist and couldn't resist once I saw the big decal! Its just the plow blade, springs and quadrant....no frame. Might have a lead on a frame . Mike..........

I finally got a chance to work on my 1930's Ford Doodlebug tractor today. I took out the old battery, removed the hood and gas tank. Cut the bolts on the seat spring and removed it. My buddy Packrat came over with his 3/4 drive socket set so we jacked up the front end and removed the front rims and old junky tires. We cleaned the heavy rust off of the rims and got them separated since they are the old split rim design. They came apart a lot quicker than we thought possible. During the clean up process I noticed on the inner part of the rim that it was stamped, Budd Wheel Co. Very cool to find stuff like that under all of the rust! We cleaned up the rims and mounted one tire on temporarily to check the ride height and to see how cool it looks. Well it looks totally cool! The other rim was in worse shape and we will have to weld it to fix it, so that will come later. We crammed the other tire on but couldn't get it on all the way but good enough for a mock up photo! Click on the photo's for a close up view.

Quick note: all stainless-on-stainless hardware (screw-nut, bolt-plate connections) should get a coat of anti-seize before assembly and reassembly. Stainless galls easily compared to carbon steel.

This has been some really rough hauling with lots of problems. 3AM Sunday and 4AM last night before we got home and one load is still stuck about 1 1/2 hours from here. 3 trucks and trailers are still sitting here loaded plus the one stuck on the road. My little helper is sleeping in trying to recoup, at least one of us needs a working brain around here...

Craig, you tell your wife I'll be seeing her when I'm in NY in my travels and to leave me some of those cookies that she's making. Things at the North Pole have been busy. I think that my internet connection mush go through North Korea as it's been up and down lately. Those in need are always top on my list, as it those who help those in need. Thank you for helping with the kiddies Steve. Santa can only go so far, and the U.S. Marines with their Toys for Tots program is very helpful. While I can't change the weather (that's the Snow Miser's job and he and Heat Miser are at it again... ugh...) I will stop in for that fudge, and maybe a little blue berry wine again.... wink wink.... I'll see what I can do about that 520, they're getting hard to come by, especially at the North Pole with those nasty storms we're having. And I've been keeping my eye on Geno, he makes some killer avatars, might have to make him an elf! Thank you Don, I've commissioned Rudolph full time as a safety beacon, and I put one of those safety triangle reflectors on the back of the sled this year too. Your wife called back in August, is there something you would like to say about that little incident? Since RedSquare put that clock up, my elves are really feeling the pressure. Just yesterday I had 11 of them call out with migraine. I wish that this place would take that darn thing down, and yes RedSquare is the Elves favorite place on the web, a few of them even have accounts! Well, I have to rest up for my big night tomorrow. Merry Christmas to all and to all a Red Night!

One word of caution while we are on this very subject. I air my front tires up to 20 lbs on my loader tractor. You have got to be aware that stock front tires have a very low Ply rating. I did have one blow out while raising a full bucket. If it was not for a tree right next to me I would have tipped right over. Just something to think about. That experience rated right up there with the best of them on having to go change your underwear. Believe me no fun.

It looks like we have a handegg ringer amongst us!
  21. 3 points
A lot depends on how many ply the tires are, the type of tire, their age/condition, and the condition of the rims. Some 4 ply tri-ribs tires can run as high as 60-100 pounds. Check with the tire manufacturer. They should have a chart with weight to pressure ratios for all types and styles of their tires. "Normal" inflation pressure is based on average front end weight and the purpose for which the tire is being used, i.e. 2-ply turf savers are rated at 15 pounds for grass cutting on the average lawn/garden tractor. What one guy uses in his tires may not be ideal or safe for your tires.

Hello Santa...all is good here also. I don't really have any small kids to buy presents for, so I, again, did my several large bags of toys for "Toys for Tots". What a great program that is...helps to bring on the Christmas Spirit. If you can, I would like to see some real Christmas weather here, for the Holidays. The weather we have had so far this season reminds me of Florida. Homemade cookies and fudge will be on the plate for you Christmas Eve. :occasion-snowman: MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !!!

Thanks to M_Bailey for furthering the cause of investigating repair of the 300 - 400 series WH indicator boards. The question was asked "can you save this" the answer is .......... yes! clean up the burned area and fill with an epoxy gel a little trimming and smoothing and Viola and we have a decent base to apply copper foil to restore the additional two contacts lost to this burnout. Major, I installed a blinking LOW OIL circuit and all the protective upgrades to keep you happy for years to come. Let me know if you would like LED's installed onto the circuit board. I am currently investigating 2 options. The first option is to install smaller LED's which will fit directly into the red lenses mounted on the tractor hoodstand, and the 2nd option is to install larger LED's which will be able to protrude directly out the holes in the hoodstand and allow the owner to remove all the lenses on the hoodstand. So if you have all your lenses and prefer that look, smaller LED's are the choice. If you are missing some of the red lenses and would like a larger red LED mounted directly in the hoodstand hole, I am looking into 10mm sized LEDs to fit directly in the hole w/o need for lenses.

I've got a D200 with a Kohler engine, model # K532S. It's listed for sale with all of my attachments currently, but if I can't get it sold I'm wondering if I could tackle the Engine rebuild myself. My experience - in middle school I dissassembled and reassembled a 5hp brigs. It had undergone this process many times (all by 7th grade kids) and didn't run before or after. I grew up on a large farm, so I have "fixed" alot. Most engine related stuff was either under waranty or too techincal or too time consuming to do on farm, so it almost alwasys resulted in a service call. At age 32 I undertook my first and only major project - replacing the engine in a geo metro. I took my time and learned a fair ammount as I went. And it ran when I was done! I have alot of tools that would not be found in a typical suburban home garage, but not alot of the specialty tools found in a mechanic shop. (welder, pullers, press, torque wrenches - yes... hones, Plasma cutter - no) The Machine - engine rebuild is the scarry part for me, but if I tackle this it would be a frame up resto. It runs and everything works to some some degree. the engine in particilar starts good. sometimes when it is warm and running at full throttle, usually under load, it will bog down and start spewing white to blueish smoke. This lasts for about 5-15 seconds and feels like its rinning on 1 cylinder. This weekend, in preparation of concreating my shop, I decided to move it "out back". the blower was on front so I threw a battery in and started it, drove it to the middle of the shed and put the Brinly disc on back. after parking it out back I walked in the shed and Noticed that there was quite a bit of blue haze in the air, so it is burning some oil all of the time. The question - Is this something I could tackle on my own? It would be a Snails pace project - lots of other hobbies, not to mention the family.

Been a while since my last thread. The snowcaster is restored and rubber paddles have been added to the auger, now we just need some more snow to try it out! Also on my Maine snow team is my 1977 Wheel Horse C-120 8 speed with a Ark Loader 508-QM. It works great for scraping ice and moving heavy wet snow.

Martin, you did an excellent job on the calendars along with Mike and Terry. They are truly works of Art! And believe me, I know Art. He was my neighbor for 20 years! Karl, this little poem pales in comparison to Duff's nearly annual edition of the original classic that he adapts to Redsquare. I sure wish we could prod him to do another edition this year. Thanks again to Mike and Steve..

Mike, those stints are worth their weight in gold...what Mike says makes dollars!!! Thanks Mate. If you win the hard hat this year...God forbid...we will need a larger hardhat. Remember...if your head is hard for more then 4 hours...you need to seek medical attention.

Just got to see how the calendar turned out myself today, Thank you Mike!!!!!! thanks to Mike for taking on the printing chores again this year. Thank you to everyone who submitted pics and congrats to all who made it!!!! it was a great experience to be involved in the making of the calendar this year. if the opportunity is there for me again next year i would be happy to do it again..

Put the gauges back in this morning and went for a spin... Within 5 seconds the volt meter and rev counter stopped working the wires wrapped around the steering uj and ripped out of the back So lost an hour soldering them back in Finally hooked up the choke linkage, then started on this The battery isolator and fuse box panel. Cleaned up one of the rams kindly donated by Doug and tried it in place. The stroke is right but the overall length is too much for the space I have... So out with the grinder Got a new end cap and pivots to sort out next - that's the plate underneath in the pic. A quick drop into place and it should fit ok
