5 pointsHappy Thanksgiving to you also. I thank God everyday that I am on top of the ground instead of below it. My family, friends,my freedom..... So many things. Thanks to those who protect and serve everyday.

3 pointsI can't say it any better than 19richie66 he put GOD first, just as it should be, have a great day with loved ones if you can.
-
3 pointsHe can't do that! It would match all the tractors and then he would never find it when he needed it. Then he would sit on it one day and get one of them wires stuck up the ole kiester!

3 pointsground and unground bearings in your transmission ground bearings are precision ground to a mirror finish for very tight size tolerance and fit unground bearings have a larger size tolerance and fit they have a much wider range of misalignment they can handle over the ground bearings you can feel this in your hand by the movement between the inner and outer bearing races the wheel horse 3 piece trans cases are not pinned in alignment like the newer cast two piece trans cases when you look at a disassembled 3 piece trans you can see where the different bearing types are used. The ground bearing are where they can be kept in truer alignment like the input shaft and the unground style is used to take up any misalignment between the case pieces side to side you can buy both bearing types from mcmaster-carr in the correct sizes Brian

2 pointsYou can bypass everything by running a jumper from the battery pos directly to the + on the coil. If it starts you'll know it's before the coil, if not it's after. I like splitting the system in two to find out what direction to go with when I start testing. Most problems on those do end up at that white 9 pin connector though.

2 pointsI added permanent tie down points to my 854. When I tie her down in the pick up I no longer scratch the paint. who ever came up with this idea, thanks it was a good one.

2 pointsWhen I tear out a large electric motor they usually have lifting ears on them in various shapes. I save them and bolt them on at the same location. I paint them red and they almost look like they belong there.
-
2 pointsAll of the above! Thankful to have a roof over my head, food to eat, a loving wife, and last but not least, my tractors to keep my little bit of sanity somewhat intact! Lol. :-P
-
2 pointsStop fooling around with it and remove the head. Probably needs to have the carbon removed from the head and block. Then put a new head gasket on it and torque it to specifications. When you remove the head, take some photos of the top of the block. That will tell us a lot as to what is going on.
-
2 pointsUpdate: After 4 days and a 1/2 can of PB Blaster I was able to remove both bolts without breaking them off. Like Martin said take you time. Thanks to everyone for your help. Donnie

2 pointsThankful first for my family. Then to all our brave men and women serving in the armed forces. Who proudly stand a post at night somewhere around the world and say to us all, sleep well, nothing will happen to you on my watch. God bless you all and thank you for your service.

2 pointsPicks for this week will be NebraskaIndianaNorthwesternOhioSt.MarylandMichiganStWisconsin and that's not any strange phonics or funky handshake.
-
2 pointsWhat comes to mind for me is a Lawn tractor is made for nothing more than lawn type duties, a Garden tractor is made for more serious duty like pulling garden type equipment.
-
2 pointsBelieve me Lane... it's hard to resist the temptation. I'm just thankful it's not all stuff.

2 pointsgot the drive belt in the mail today, so went out and finished up everything on the blower. got the chain all set up, cut the length to 51 links like the original, lined up all the sprockets with shim washers and installed the chain. double checked all my bolts, installed cotter pins in all the areas i temporarily put hairpins and gave the whole blower a good spray down with quick wax. chain, idlers etc installed.... new belt fresh from ebay, this one was $20 in a sealed bag, not sure what they run at the dealer, probably more i would guess. chain guards on. all done.... came inside to get a bite to eat and after a while look out the back window to see Kent out on the back driveway with a shovel messing up all my test snow........ so i finished up my lunch and went out there, but not before putting my coat and slippers on. i thought to myself how dare he exert energy! i was wondering if he was feeling ok, working and all.......after all he is a teenager, what will he be up to next????? actually i already know the answer to that, having 4 others that have gone through those years already...... anyway, i said to him to stop that working thing immediately, he might break out in a sweat and I'm sure he didn't want that to happen. i did manage to get him to hold my phone for a few minutes while i tested out the blower on what was left on the driveway (which wasn't very much-darn kids......)

1 pointMy Kohler K181 engine had not been well maintained when I got my 854. The first thing I did when I got her home was drain the oil and it was nasty. I put in fresh 30wt detergent, changer points plug and condenser then fired her up. over the next couple of weeks the engine was run about 45 min. total. Yesterday I started her up ran it for a bit to warm oil then drained the oil. I was surprised at how dirty the oil was, I guess the fresh detergent oil washed over the internals and flushed out all the carbon and crap.

1 pointThanks! Now I have to go open a fig newton package. LOL. I love them. Marvin

1 pointOf Course it's yours Geno since you own just about all of them ... I think you're just going Door to door with that WH Card you have confiscating them ... Maybe identifying as Police and then just loading up the Horses of the Poor unsuspecting owners... but we're onto you sir...
-
1 pointNice save. Should be a good tractor for you. Geno....Took me a while to figure out "WTG" !! I'm old school....I thought LOL was Lots of Love!!

1 pointI am using the published manufacturer specifications for Duro and Carlisle tires. The Duro HF252 6.00-12 is 25 inches tall and 6.1 inches wide when mounted. The Carlisle Tru Power is 22.7 inches tall and 5.7 inches wide when mounted. Duro does not sell a 6-12, and Carlisle does not sell a 6.00-12. The photo is from a vendor on eBay. It probably is not important on a 2wd tractor but makes a big difference on a 4wd tractor like the older Kubotas for their drivetrain to not bind. Yes, different manufacturers make the same size tires yet end up being different actual dimensions. For example, Kenda and Titan both make a 16X7.50-8 size turf tire but the Kenda is approximately 1 inch taller. I know as I have both on two different 5xi.

1 pointI picked up 4 of these also this year. Next spring they will get a little filler and paint for sure. Cant beat the Home Depot price and free shipping

1 pointJust my 2 cents worth. If your Wheel Horse has a pressed metal frame, it's a lawn tractor.
-
1 pointI'm of the same opinion, lawn light duty, garden heavy duty

1 pointI am thanful for too many things to list, all summed up in how God takes care of me and blesses me so much every single day, even if it doesn't feel like it some days. All kidding and the laughing guy that I use here so much put aside, the newest thing I am thankful for this year is this place. I am blessed even more by the people here, the fun I have with this hobby, and the real friends I have found. I wish everyone here a great Tday! You too Craig. I couldn't resist sorry.

1 pointYou do need to throttle up a bit more to enguage equipment etc You just don't have the advantage of a heavy cast iron flywheel for put-put stuff !!
