14 pointsAJ and his friend Zack made to my place to day to pick up a 68" Lawn Ranger I picked up for him last weekend. It was a great day...they spent some time, helped me move some things around, took a couple of my horses for a ride...went to Cabelas" and then AJ bought me lunch. Thank you AJ & Zack...it was a banner day.

11 pointsGentleman. I knew ONE DAY I would find that 520 with the Onan. Well.....here it is. My brother and I picked it up yesterday. Glenn

10 pointsI know this is probably not the right spot to post this but thought everyone checks this fourm first, so anyway Just wanted to say what a GREAT bunch of folks we have on this site. Have been looking for parts to fix up a c-160 auto and have had tons of help from everyone on this site. Dave, Bruce, Curtis, they know who they are... have gone out of their way to help me. It is very refreshing to know there are still people in this world that want to help a stranger and in turn make a new friend. TO EVERYONE HERE A BIG THANKS !!

4 pointsbeen a busy day we've been staging scenes from back to the future we lacked the flames, but did burn some rubber... Here's kinda how this came around and a whole days testing with a few breakages along the way but finally I think it's sorted, can't wait to get the front and rear 3 points working now.

4 pointsI would have left it on the trailer. you could tow it around, take different background pics, have everyone drooling and you could pretend to be Geno!
-
4 pointsThis is the most awesome place I've ever seen that's for sure. How could anyone not love it here?
-
4 pointsI hate 520H's because I can never pass them up. Cant ya tell? I have 2 others that's not in the pic.

3 pointsI will comment on the Onan...WOW! Now that I put about a hour on it. What a sweet sounding engine. Purrs like a cat. No vibration. You can hear the power. I know the torque will be there. A whole differant beast. With a whole diferant sound. Glenn

3 pointsrollingflat, You are absolutly right, this is a great place! It has been a pretty depressing week when you watch the news, but I know when I check in here my mind will switch to a better place, and all will be right in my little world. Wheel horse takes me back to a time when at least I percieve that life was simpler, and machines were engineered and built with pride to last. Maybe it causes me to look at life through "red" glasses, but if that's the only imparement it gives me, I like it! Rick

2 points1999 314-8 290 hrs on the clock with a 42 rd. Initally bought this from the original owner who had m.s and couldn't get in it Soni sold him a new one at work . I had this a year ago and did some bartering with a co-worker and got it back today. Started to clean it up will be finished up Tommorow. Here are a couple of sneak peeks more to follow.

2 pointswhile not as nice as JerseyHawgs 520, I got this 190 416-H for only $225. 500 hrs, tight steering, a little rusty but runs great and 42 RD cuts super!

2 pointsIt was a gorgeous day for sure.. I was trying to talk Steve into following me home so I could put him on some big bass out on my boat tomorrow.
-
2 pointsLooks like a great day for you guys. That second pic had me worried for a second, kinda looked like Steve won over another convert to the Chicago NoSox. Boot up AJ it gets deep out there.

2 pointsNice looking tractor, Glenn. The engine is easier than the 522xi to get the tins off. Put Matt's pedal on it, and Tom's 2" receiver so it can do anything. It needs the cup holder seeing as you already have the armrests.

2 pointsSo.....off to the shower I sent her. Cleanup begins. This tractor will be a worker for now. Not sure of future plans. Glenn

2 pointsR/Flat you are right. It would be a said day if this was gone. Just look we over 14000 now. With varying views but with one thing in mind keeping red tractors alive and a part of preserving Americana. Gary B........

2 pointsProgress !!!!! I was finally able to start the siding. Tomorrow is a BIG day as I have a small crew coming here by 7am to start setting up the staging and getting started on the roofing. I believe that Fireman, Timbo, KenB and a few other guys will come over and we can continue on the siding. Whoo Hoo!!

2 pointsHere's a photo of my 854 hood/cowling after I did some work on it.Had to weld up cracks and holes where lights were installed. the bottom attach point was cracked and bent, so lots of work, this photo is after a lot of sanding and body filler, but its worth it.

1 pointHas anybody ever organized a Wheel Horse or Garden Tractor "trail ride"? I think it would be cool to meet with a bunch of people and see all there tractors work/run... I don't have another wheel horse yet, still looking but, just thinking of neat things to do with it, to enjoy it... Chugging along at 3 or 4 mph on a wheel horse through trails in the woods can be very relaxing and fun. Even if it was just a half mile or so loop it would be neat.

1 pointSteve and Ken, (although mostly Steve) have been harassing me to get into the old motors and boats. I was putting up a good resistance until 2 weeks ago. Ken PM'd me and asked if I was interested in a 1957 Johnson 5.5hp outboard he was putting on Craigslist. He went through it and it's all ready for the water. At the price he sold it to me for I finally couldn't resist. I posted a few days ago about the mint 1956 7.5hp Evinrude Fleetwin I picked up for a steel. Well 2 days ago Steve texted me a link for a 1957 10hp Evinrude Sportwin. He said this one would be better then the other two because the 10 horse power would be enough for the size aluminum boat i'm in the market for. I checked out the link and low and behold it was located in the exact same town in New Jersey I was heading down to the next day. A member here bought my tall chute snow blower and I was heading down to deliver it to him. I emailed the seller and asked if I could stop by and see it. I heard back from him on my way down the next day and come to find out he only lives 1.5 miles from where I was dropping of the snow blower. Needless to say we struck a deal and it ended up in the back of my truck. SO NOW I HAVE 3 VINTAGE OUTBOARD ENGINES!!!! The good thing is these take up almost no room at all. I don't think i'm going to keep all 3. I will probably sell the small Johnson and keep the other two. The 7.5 Evinrude is so clean and original I can't see selling it. So here they all are:

1 pointOk...been feeling a bit under the weather lately, as some of you know. Haven't really felt much like :wh:'n around much. So I read where Geno scarfed up a 953/1054 the other day, and I thought, "ya know, cancer, smancer, I gotta get this 953 torn down before they start treating this stuff, because during recovery, it'll be a lot easier to clean parts and paint than all this nasty tear down". So, I got myself out here tonight, and got quite a bit stripped off the 953. Next I have to pull the Transaxle and hydraulics. Looks like I'm going to have to go through the hydro pump also. So here's the pics fellas! p.s....Geno doesn't have this area completely tied up and monopolized! And he's not the only one with a deep evil plan! That last pic is of a k161, with cub cadet accessories. Goina sell those accessories, and add this as number 3 to my 7hp collection! "MUWAHHAHAHA!" Lol! Trying to trade a guy out of a 68 Lawn Ranger as we speak also! :laughing-rolling:
