2 pointsI almost had to toss a coin on Iowa/ Maryland but in the end the home field advantage wins out Minny ha ha, Marysvilleland, Oh that State, Mich mash St., Nebula braska (Squonkenese is pretty thick today!)

2 pointsI bought a 520-HC a few years ago for $100 sight unseen and not running. Fixed the ignition problem (coil) and other little things and sold it for $800. If yours isn't repairable I see parts worth $400+. Remember ... "It takes money to make money". Buy, sell and buy again .... you'll end up with tractors that someone else paid for!

2 pointsDesko...I think the "D" series horses use Sunstrand transmissions...while I have looked at some schematics of those, I have no idea what they look like inside or how they work. You will not get an argument from me on those. It's taken me about 4 years messing with the Wheel Horse transmissions to understand them, and I am still learning those. I would put myself in the category somewhere between "I have an idea" to "Knowledgeable "...that makes me "extremely dangerous".

2 pointsBrrly, good idea. If you don't have the etching equipment, maybe a sand blaster? Make a mask with the WH logo on it and blast away. Try it on a piece of scrap metal first to make sure you like it.

2 pointsJust had Rim Guard installed in my 24x12x12 HDAP's. Close to 7 gallons each tire with new metal valve stems. $56 out the door. Tires and rims before Rim Guard 34# each. After Rim Guard 106# each. Shop around for prices. My local Rim Guard dealer wanted $265 [emoji15]. I had to drive an hour away for a better price but it was well worth it. Call Rim Guard and they can give you dealers near you. These babies are heavy [emoji4] and will make a huge difference this winter.

2 pointsWell when I pulled in to the property I realized I was going to get some seat time tonight. The leaves have begun to fall rather quickly. I could either let them all blow away OR I could hop on a Horse and pick them up with the sweeper. I chose the latter and enjoyed the ride! Here is the Commando 8 on leaf duty tonight. I sure hope there are some more leaves on the ground when I get home tomorrow night!

2 pointsI know, but moisture will still find its way in. I have been doing electrical on autos for 40 years and I can always tell when a wire has been pierced.
-
2 pointsI've thought of doing this too....but it might consist of only me out in my shed drinking beer and talking to myself...so, basically I have a meet and greet almost every night

1 pointJust started mocking this up tonight. This hood is very straight and rust free, unfortunately has a horrible primer job on it that will need to be removed. The stickers were taped off before primer thus the C-125 sticker showing through. The hood will be set just a bit more forward (2-3 inches i think) once I get the C series brackets bolted on and aligned. Should put that onan nice and centered in the opening.

1 pointBeen looking for my first Wheel Horse and located just what I wanted. It's an 854. Like I was told on this forum, get ready for a road trip. So I did , my wife and I drove from Texas to Missouri and picked it up. We got home and I put a battery in it and it started right up, no smoke and it drives in all gears. Going to dig into it tomorrow to see just what I really have. The seller was nice and threw in an original pan seat . I'm happy with the 854 and will be asking a lot of questions of this forum. Thanks.

1 pointHello all, Bought first B80 (1976) last week and and have it running already. Bought a Raider 10 I think this week, not running, have not looked at it yet. Seems like a very good site.

1 pointHey all: Somewhat of a very seirous thread. Nothing to be concerned about, but just want to keep all of the heard, up to speed.... Many of you know Cleveland Clinic is a very important account of the company I work for..... Today the CEO (Toby Cosgrove) diverted his Engalnd flight today to head to Washington..... Tomorrow there will be a live internal broadcast within Cleveland Clinic to update all staff regarding the Ebola concerns. Cleveland Clinic is taking all necessary precautions to educate all individuals of the virus, how it is spread, and necessary containment procedures. They are also in the process of ordering additional HAZ MAT suites. I think this is a wise step on behalf of the clinic..... Monday or Tuesday next week there will be a Townhall meeting that addresses additional concerns regarding the Ebola virus. Will try and keep all up to date when this happens. I am no expert, and can only speculate the proper protocal....... Error on the side of caution always! In my position, I can only be a small light, that is hoping to help others see, the BRIGHTER light! Look up! RMC!

1 pointNeeded to till up the garden and had to get most of the tractors out to get to my Troy-Built tiller out of the garage. My 10 year old son loves tractors and got most of them lined up...so I thought I would take a quick pic. Don't mind the green thing on the end 522Xi C-161-8 520Lxi 518Xi C-161-8 520-8 2320 Deere Still had a 520-H, 520Xi, and another C-161-8 that I didn't get in the picture. Thad (Ohio)

1 pointHospital I work at is going bonkers. They dragged out an emergency management trailer that has been parked out back for 3 years and stuck it by the ER. They had a huge double door refrigerator freezer that was part of the emergency preparedness equipment. When we first got it, I had to take doors off of the building just to get it in. That bldg got torn down a year and a half ago. They put that fridge in storage at another site. It was seen a month ago. They went to get it today and it was gone! how does someone steal a giant refrigerator?

1 pointIt is a cozy little nook. If i only had the tractor guys to bs with haha. Everyone around here is into there atv's or cars.
-
1 pointI have an 8 pinion diff open and have had a 4 pinion open (both 8 speeds) but not side by side and I've never had a 10 pinion to open up so yea id say its impossible.
-
1 pointRight. Poke if you must but after the problem is solved repair/ replace wire. Even if the hole seals itself the tensile strength is compromised
-
1 pointMinnesota, Maryland, Ohio State, Michigan State Spartans, and pulling up the rear...... Northwestern. My heart says go against Ohio State but my gut tells me that Rutgers is going to fall flat on their faces. Guess time will tell......
-
1 pointDo I have a set, yes. Have I ever used them, NO. Why do I even own a set? For that one in a thousand situation where a cam sensor or crank sensor is literally buried in a engine compartment and I'm already 99% sure its the sensor at fault. If I would pierce a wire, I would cut it at the pierce and splice it with an approved self healing silicone crimp similar to what is used in telephone repair work. I would never use these devices on my personal vehicles for the reasons stated above. The manufacturer goes thru great effort to spec weather tite connectors and quality insulation for their harnesses. Dealers highly discourage poking holes in harnesses due to warranty concerns. Is this a concern for the do it yourselfer? Doubt it. Then again I can't imagine these devices being necessary in the repair of lawn and garden equipment. Poking holes in harness wires is certainly not considered a "best practice" in professional circles.

1 pointWow it has been that long??? It was a fun project and a lot of learning took place on that one. My bag is just up off the ground. You can see some rub marks underneath from hitting uneven ground but it does float. Last night I was grabbing leaves in 3rd gear at half throttle. I had a lot I wanted to get done and daylight is at a premium right now. It seemed to work pretty good. That is a field out back where they had beans this year. Once those are off it gives it a nice smooth surface as he is a no-till farmer. Add that with a crappy iPhone pic and it is hard to make out. Maybe we will ask to put a lake back there so you and Stevebo can bring out some vintage boats!!!!!

1 pointBeautiful Commando Thanks for sharing and thanks Jason for posting the link to the restore. It was a great read this morning.

1 pointAhh yes...Cusat's Cafe in Hazleton Pa! Peppers and eggs with hot Italian sausage and Italian bread toast! My mouth now waters!!! Lol! :-)

1 pointNot arguing as Steve knows his trans but my dads D160 and my GT 1142 would spin both tires on ice, mud, wet grass but that was only if you are going straight.
-
1 pointThat makes more sense Steve... thats what I get for taking things at face value. Thanks!

1 pointI do not prefer the gear reduction steering, just my opinion. unless I had a FEL or 2 stage blower. Swept axle is really just for the 60inch deck, if you are not using one, it really just looks meaner with that wide stance. not many Wheel Horses down in your neck of the woods, so consider all the options. with that low of hours (if the hour meter is really working) good compression on both cylinders, etc..it could be just a simple Molex 9 pin issue or something, I love my 1989 520. at idle it sounds like a Harley and best of all, no Toro stickers on it. just saying..if it was up here, it would be gone maybe its just me or the pictures but does it looks like the front wheels are a tad small or the rears are big?
-
1 pointYa, but Iowa is a gated community...I am not sure if Nebraska is not the same way.
-
1 pointThey say donuts make strange bedfellows. I read somewhere that Jack frost donuts is offering a promotional item this week with a baker's dozen.. Maybe you could drop by Brrly's to watch the game.
-
1 pointI don't know about the team, but the Hawkeye cheerleaders are packed and ready to go. Hope they're still fresh for game time..
-
1 pointI don't know John. You could be in trouble this week. You and I have picked the same teams this week and you see where I'm at.
-
1 pointGlen, thanks for posting these pics and the ones in your other thread. Please continue to post what you find and share them with us. It's nice to have a little art and culture even on a tractor forum. Kinda spruces up the place..
-
1 pointYep Steve has a nose like a Beagle. When it come to eats, he can sniff one out in a perfect vacuum!
-
1 pointThe 10-pinion is an offset differential and requires 2 different length axle's..I have never tried to put one in an 8-pinion trans..the 11-44 toothe gear is different..the 10-pinion trans has the brake hub mounted to that gear and the 8-pinion it is mounted on the 3/4 shaft 3 gear cluster shaft..I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work but I have not done that kind of swap yet...I do have a couple 10-pinion diffs if needed.
-
1 pointHere ya go John...this will make any Chicago guy want to come home...

1 pointI would pass if your looking to pull heavy stuff. Find a C series or a 300-400 series machine for the hard work and let the Murray have the grass duty. Mike..........
