3 pointsI hesitated to start this thread but now I am glad I did. It looks like I was not the only dummy up here. If it saves one person from getting a punctured eye it served its purpose.

2 pointsHi all as most of you may know I'm a bit of a wheelhorse Nut , and we all like to make and design our own attachment and adapt our machines to be as versatile as possible I've seen some original wheel horse generators on the net but they are very rare so I've decided to build one . I first started by sourcing a 240v Generator off that site . Then I've now been designing my own quick release cradle for it to sit in . Attached Thumbnails

2 pointsIt wasn't me, I was way over in SE Ohio. No really I was. I went to WV then turned left and went several more hours, above Athens OH. Plus I have 16 already, I have enough plows to sell this winter, just have to get them all sandblasted, painted and decaled up. The 3 I have on CL are 3 of 5 I bought. I had to buy 5 to get the 2 48" plows I wanted. The white one on CL I was told is a Bolens from a guy who wants it.

2 pointsWow... I think even those are a little crazy priced! It never even dawned on me that there would be someone reproducing batteries in the original style cases. I suppose though... both of you (Craig and Martin) being car enthusiasts, you've probably known about this for a while. Pretty cool little detail part if you are after the truest representation of originality. I agree though, that for the majority of us Wheel Horse guys, at that kind of price, it's absolutely ridiculous. However.... if someone only had one tractor and no room for another or something, I could totally see spending more money on making a "perfect" restoration. People do it all the time in other hobbies.

2 pointsGADZOOKS!!! Bet that was a surprise! I had something like that happen about an hour ago. Went to get my homemade front weight for the 701, that I had stored by the well house this summer, to give it a fresh coat of paint...and to my surprise!!!!....There's a spider the size of, what appeared to me, a tennis ball staring out of that web hole! So I decided to wait til I get some bug spray to paint it...then I happened to look up...and said forget it! Lol!

2 pointsSo you havent been doing your homework for the first 2 weeks Mr Saurus? Youre doing pretty good for a hack! I would suggest you and all the others on here start putting a little time and effort into this or I'll be the man to beat all season...Remember second place is just the first L-O-S-E-R!

2 pointsAlthough it is a fact for me, I have a great sense of humor, and am always making eye/one-eye jokes and jokes about myself...Often I say "It's all fun & games until somebody loses an eye.. because then I have to find it, etc..." And "There is no "I" in team, but there IS one "eye" in me!" Gotta laugh at what comes our way..... As Jimmy Buffett said "If we couldn't laugh, we would all go insane" But seriously guys... take care of 'em..... prosthetics are expensive!

2 pointsOn Saturday the little Electro went to Cajun Model Fest here in Baton Rouge and did alright. After winning in its class it took "Best Auto" which is one of the top level prizes. It might be a bit of a stretch to call it an auto but I was able to enter it as an off-road vehicle which made it eligible in the Automotive category. Thanks to all the Red Square members for the enthusiastic support. It wouldn't have been such a success without you!

1 pointI've been here less than 2 months and this is post #500. Do I talk too much? Should I take a vacation and give you guys a break?
-
1 pointI have several full face sheilds, the all clear ones. The bad thing is I use this type of hurt your eyes equipment in the shop on a daily basis and get in habit of not using it. I get a lot of stuff out of my eyes myself, then when I have to go get someone else to remove it I get better for awhile... Thanks for all the great comments here and to you Nick for starting the thread. I've got to do better.
-
1 pointYep, I'll get pics up in the morning. The 520 sounds sweet, just needs some carb work, it runs moves and mows good. The 518 has no motor but the rest is there including monster duals with forklift style treads. There's also a 50" mid mount grader and a front deck carrier.

1 pointToday was the annual fall Rotary Club Fly in Breakfast at the Seneca Falls Regional Airport. It was a beautiful day. Turned out perfect. Awesome weather, Dino's birthday, lots of planes and of course DA BEARS LOST!! Here are a few videos of the planes coming in and going out! If I had the cash I'd take flying lessons and if I was rich I'd already have my license and have a plane. I would hit all those great tractor shows you guys have in the Midwest!

1 pointThe D's have their weak spots. > The steering box can be real sloppy (can be adjusted some) > The shaft on the hydro pump (coupling to the engine) can get stripped. Not an easy fix in my opinion. > On the older units such as the one your looking at there was a problem in the tranny with some bolts inside (cant remember which, dang memory) that would work loose or snap ( again my memory is failing me). Once they come loose they would get wedged between the pinion and the bottom of the tranny case and split/crack it. Look at the underside of the tranny case for signs of past damage. If you see welding signs..JB.Weld...etc...ask about the repair that was done. Look it over real good! Mike.......

1 pointI'm sure glad I must wear glasses, for I have picked little wires out of my clothes And a time or two or more out of my body but thankfully never out of my eyes. My wire wheels just seem to shed a few now and then in my direction

1 pointRead through this review from several years ago. Steve is quite analytic when he reviews something, and he did a swap with a 10HP. And yes... 6HP would be more than enough for a B-80.

1 pointHere is the link Steve meant to add.. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=College+football+rankings+2014 Not sure what it is but Im in for sure!!
-
1 pointAJ...you guys gotta do some of the leg work. I think, this year, they are waiting to do the real rankings until the end of September...right now, they do not mean too much. Google "college football" or "Big Ten college football" and all the information, rankings, predictions and stories are there.

1 pointThe most signifcant difference between common igniton switches is the wiring configuration between MAGNETO based ignition systems and POINTS and COIL (Kettering)based systems. MAGNETO systems do not require connection to 12 volt power sources to function and must have their "kill" terminal connected to the battery negative terminal when ignition is shut down. Kettering systems require 12 volts to be present on the coil for ignition and removal of the 12 volts will kill the ignition. These two different types of electrical configurations require 2 different styles (and part #) ignition switches. Switches that have an "I" terminal are for Kettering systems and switches that have an "M" terminal are for magneto systems. Using and miswiring a Ketterimg system switch into a magneto based tractor will fry the magneto coil.

1 pointCouldn't agree more Craig, they've got right! Kids on theses rice rockets make me nervous. They say they fear nothing when on them things. I mean I had my fair share of days weaving in and out of traffic, I did it more gracefully on the yes, can you say Harley Davidson you just kind of cruise in and out where these kids are in out and gone. Now mind you not just one of kid how about 18 cruising thru on rice rockets. It looked like a big line of Rice. I'm doing 65, there doing at least 80

1 pointAlright guys. Finally got my mother over to my house last night to work on the cab door. It took us about 2 1/2 hours but I think the result was well worth it. She had already premade a pattern so it was just cut and sew. She bought heavy sewing needles and outdoor poly thread. The Vinyl the cab company sells is really nice to work with. It does not have that sticky texture that tends to hang up on the sewing machine foot. Plus it matches color really nice. The original is a little darker but very close. Only issue we ran into was we had to remove the foot of the sewing machine and put it back on to get it over the round stock to sew the inside stiches. I think it came out great and my mother is great at what she does also, which helped. I guess I owe her one now. I told her to watch out. I am going to post this online and she might have more to do. lol She was excited to hear what you guys thought! Pictures next!

1 pointI had an appointment with the eye doctor today. She looked my eyes over for some time and pronounced me stupid, but lucky. I promised her I would never do that again and I won't. I relize how very lucky I was and how much it hurt before it was removed. No More.......

Picking up a cultivator set from Chasm, and plow from dclarke (Thanks Steve). Hope to pick up a nice RJ or suburban and a non-shaker 14 or 16 HP engine. 1 pointMr. Motto...WOW If that horse runs, I could cut my yard with it...it is very, very small (about 1/25) Fantastic thread...thank you for sharing this with all of us.
-
1 pointThe pickup truck in the photos looks like a diecast and most of those are 1/18 scale which is too big but there are plenty of potential 1/25 pickups out there. I've already built a 1934 Ford pickup but I checked and the bed is too small. Obviously, the coolest way to go would be a Studebaker truck but there aren't any kits available. The idea about tires from farm toys is interesting. I'll have to look around and see what the possibilities are. One problem is that farm tractor tires and garden tractor tires seldom have the same proportions. I made a little display base for my Horse today. It's just a display case from Hobby Lobby that's intended for softballs and hockey pucks with some model railroad landscape items added. It has a clear top so the model can be protected from dust while it's on display.
