2 more just came home with me from Seymour, IN today. They were both in this man's family since they were new. I found another 1973 14 Automatic, and a 1966 1276 Automatic. Also got a good extra deck for each one and they both run and mow. Somebody needs to take away all of my truck keys...

I would like to take a moment to thank Martin for his taking the time to steer me in the right direction on several occasions by answering my private messages. He is a one of the kind type of person who goes out of his way to help when ever he is able. I know that his forum is full of guys like that but Martin is special. My hats off to him. Nick

Thats great Shaun!!! I can remember back in 1991 wishing I could have a loader for my new 312-8. Still have the same 312 but never bought a loader. Did buy a Bobcat Skidsteer though. Thats a close as I ever got to having a loader on a Wheel Horse.

Tyler It appears to me that your daughter has fallen in love with that tractor. Now if it were mine and that was my daughter, I think I might be forced to paint it pink. What a thrill for her to have her own tractor. She would be the envy of the neighborhood.

We may live in Florida now but we still consider Indiana our home state. I don't think I need a link to point out what Indiana is famous for. WHEEL HORSES WERE INVENTED IN INDIANA! Anything else is just trivial.

Ask Bob, I don't sound like I'm from the "Old Line State." To Steve, I probably sound normal! And it's Chi-caw-go. When I was a kid, we use to tent camp in the state parks (White Pines and Lowden) by Oregon. I also had to go to Polo one time for business.

Thanks Geno. I did not realize this newest Pony was so young. No wonder it is in such great shape. Got it from the original owner but his grandson was the one I talked to. didn't know much about it but told me it needed a new spindle on the deck. I checked the deck out today and the spindles are in great shape. They had the clutch belt twisted but no belt on the deck. I will order a new belt tomorrow. Best $400.00 I have spent in a long while. Don't know if I will like that 48in side discharge deck or not. I am partial to the rear discharge. I like the way it leaves the grass with no clumps thrown out the side. When you are finished you can't find the clippings. they just seem to disappear. KUDOS to Toro for keeping and allowing the download of all the manuals from Wheel Horse. Those yellow jerks make you pay through the nose for a manual.

October 4, 2014 I am gearing up for a great show once again! It has been a very busy summer with family vacations, a trip to the big show, and buying my parents place where the show is held. We are looking forward to meeting some new folks, as well as reconnecting with others. We are truly thankful to all of you for making the sacrifice to be with us. We are pretty excited to be able to host our 5th annual meet and greet. I am planning on doing t-shirts once again. More information and a separate thread will be made at a future date regarding this. Please hold off until the thread has been started for putting your orders in. If all goes well we will be out plowing in the fields once again. The bean crop looks to be doing well. More information regarding this will be posted at a later date. Lodging......Warsaw has some nice hotels that are approximately 15 minutes from the show area. You are welcome to camp on site. Please pm me if you are planning on doing so so we can plan accordingly. Food will be available to purchase. Great food at reasonable prices. Swap meet area will be available again. The more you bring, the better the swap meet. Tractors......all brands are welcome. Shiny, rusty, broken, etc are not discriminated against. Raffle.....if you are interested in helping me with this again, I would greatly appreciate it. 100% of the proceeds will be going to help fight against Childhood cANCER. This has always been an amazing part of our show. I am looking forward to hitting the 200+ mark of machines on the property. We CAN do this, I just need your help! More will be added in the future so please be sure to check back and keep an eye on this thread!

30 days now until the LeSueur, MN Pioneer Power Show. Just wanted to pop this up on people's radars. This will our 7th year showing Wheel Horses at this show. Got to meet several members who made the trip for the first time last year, looking forward to seeing any of them back as well as catching up with all the regulars. As always... hoping for new faces as well. The Pioneer Power club has been very receptive to us showing Wheel Horses at their show, in fact, it's brought about a whole new contingent of garden tractor exhibitors outside the realm of the regular hit and miss gas engine crowd. All in all, it's been fun to be a part of growing a little bit of this show. Last year I posted the following info which some people said was quite helpful, so I'll include it here again. You can get official information and showground map off the website http://www.pioneerpowershow.com but that doesn't really show what you guys need to know. It's best to get in at the Alternate gate, in the parking lot. Go in , turn left and go about 100 feet. That's where we set up. Fill in along the building first, and then across the lane as needed. We're supposed to have the whole area, but some other brands often end up filling in across the street too. First, here's the location of the show grounds, just off Hwy 26 between LeSueur and Montgomery on 265th Ave, just a few miles north of LeCenter. (Click images for larger versions) GPS address 34605 265th Ave, Le Sueur, Mn And here's the actual grounds.....One thing to remember, as you look at this map, North is to the left, East is up. Looking forward to another great show. Don't forget your lawn chairs!!

Hi all, Picked up a c175 at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago. Has always been kept inside, and has 885 hrs. In really nice shape besides the hood, no rust pits, or dents in anything else. Runs perfect, and the hydro is good and strong. Was not running when i bought it, but just took a battery and a shot of starting fluid and it purred to life. Came with a blower, 48" deck, and weights/chains. The sale it was at was a really cool place. The guy used to run a wheel horse dealer, but sold all his stuff about 10 yrs ago, this was his personal tractor. He did still have a few engine parts left over that I picked up, but nothing really special. There were 3 barns packed with stuff, you could hardly walk through, it was fun to dig through everything. Anyways, here's my tractor, never thought I would buy a horse this new, but this one is a keeper and I really like it. It will be my new blower tractor. Someday I might even do a quick repaint on it, as it would be an easy one to do. Also, I believe it is brand new in this picture of it at the dealer....

I got home from work yesterday and saw this on CL. Non running C-125 for $150 about 15 minutes away. Nice seller who pulled the ad after I hung up. only for sale for 18 minutes. trashed seat, fender pan, no muffler. plow and hitch retro fitted from the older style, tire chains. turns over and tranny oil good. Of course, all I saw was the rear wheel weights!!! got it all for $125. plan to sell or part out the rest Of course the wife was out of town and now how do I explain this ???

Hello everyone, I am new to this great site, I am 68 and until yesterday my main tractor was a Simplicity. This machine is also a great unit, the problem I have with it is in the winter time when I switch to the plow and have to turn the blade, I have to get off and move said plow. Since I'm getting up their in age and I've had long time back problems, I wanted to get a Wheel horse, the problem is that I had to buy used. I live in Ct., I went to Mass. and bought a used plow for a wheel horse (at this point I didn't own a wheel horse), I paid $175.00, it came with weights and chains, all in excellent shape. I thought about trying to conform this plow to the Simplicity, but that was not going to work. So I found a used Wheel horse with nothing but the tractor (just what I needed), I paid $325.00 for it. Hour meter is 750. I bought a Toro Wheel Horse Classic 310-8speed, Kohler Magnum 10 #'s on plate 311ok801 10589 USA 9242 South Bend Now the Questions, 1. What does it mean 8 speed when there's only a low and high position 2. When brake is in off position the pedal is really far back, is this normal? 3. I will be using this unit only for plowing snow, will this unit do the job? 4. What oil should I use in it. 5. What year is this unit. 6. Where do you get extra keys made 7. I didn't see a oil filter should there be one on it?

Oh I agree. I was just having a little fun. Actually I have a post where I just got a 416H and they were kidding me about painting it pink so my wife would like it. Of course painting a 400 series pink is not going to happen in my house. Now at the show a few weeks ago there was a very cute young girl on a pink Wheel Horse pulling a pink wagon with her sister in it. She rode that thing around the event most of the day and had a great time.

km3h...I understand where you are going with this, but I am not sure I would paint this horse just yet. This is pretty original and may clean up really nice. She is going to make that horse look nice no matter what color it is. What do ya think??

You stated that your is deck 15-42SC03 and the schematic I posted is exactly that. In that schematic, and in the pic I posted, there is no snap ring on the top..only at the bottom and it only holds the low-end bearing in place. It is not there to hold the shaft from moving up / down. To the contrary, the up / down movement of the shaft is stopped by the pulley itself on top end, aside from the tinly little rubber O-ring. That O-ring is there to keep the shaft from dropping down out of the spindle when the pulley is not in place. Were you able to find the picecs that 'broke' from the spindle housing? If not, then MAYBE that lower end of the spindle had been worn down so badly that the snap-ring was just barely hanging on by a thread...or maybe it was aready completely gone before you started working on it. Inasmuch as the snap ring and very end of the housing is hidden by the spindle cup, you wouldn't know if it was there or not. Then, when you drove out the spindle shaft, you thought you broke the end of the housing when, in fact, it wasn't there to begin with. Once again, I've seen this many times, too. In any case, I was not attempting to be offensive, only instructive.

I have about all the parts you would need to re-build the trans and have a pile of axles..But would need alot more info..What trans are we working with here..axle diameter and axle length...only way to get the length of the axle is to split the trans....or I have had a couple guys ship me their transmissions I re-build them and ship them back thru Fastenal. Their is plenty of options. I buy up used or un-wanted transmissions at about every swap meet I attend just for this purpose..Alot of the parts are No Longer Available thru Toro..

What a cool thread! I'm from Danbury, Connecticut. While Connecticut may be known as the Constitution State I believe there are a few other things that put this State on the map. Sadly, neither one of these things are still with us and both of these took place right in my home town, Danbury. #1 Danbury was known as the Hat Capitol of the world. Way way back in the day just about every single guy out there wore a hat and Danbury supplied them. http://www.hattales.com/discover/hat-nostalgia/hatting-in-danbury-connecticut/ #2 The Great Danbury State Fair. This wasn't just your normal little country fair that only locals from surrounding towns attended. People from ALL OVER came to the Great Danbury Fair. My parents house was about ten miles from the Fair Grounds. I can remember as a kid every summer on Saturday night's laying in my bed hearing the sweet sounds of those V-8 race engines roaring around the Racearena! Music to my ears. I was only 13 when it was closed but naturally I went every year since I was an infant so I have some great memories. Poor old man Leahy I'm sure rolled over in his grave at least a few times when his family sold it only to be bulldozed for a shopping mall. I worked in that Mall for a few yrs. on the maintenance crew. Working late at night was often very interesting to say the least. I can remember hearing very loud music that was clearly not from this day and other things such as, horse's hoove's trotting and an insane amount of laughter. I can remember asking the guy working next to me where the hell are the horse's? All he told me was don't worry, you'll get used to it... If you have some time too kill here is a video too watch..

Hi All, For those that haven't seen on the MOM forum i have bought a 312-8. Almost exactly a year ago my Electro 12 arrived and everyone said they multiply in time. Refusing to believe it was just living in denial, as ive just bought a 1992 312-8 Sat in a barn for four years, half a days work cleaning the carb, doing some wiring, and building a front weight, the Magnum 12 purred sweetly. And did a full days hard work the following day shifting mud. cheers, Daniel

Well like I mentioned, we are still plugging away. Though we really missed our target completion date, this has been so rewarding. We will see this through until the end! Tonight we only had 5 members in attendance. Sometimes the smaller numbers helps us get more completed. The kids were doing a fine job and we were able to learn how some of the parts have to work in order to make the tractor function properly. They are still really engaged in the project which is very cool to see. Almost forgot to grab some photos again but here you go:

Got some pictures of a couple of the other things I picked up. Here's the patches, a cabinet full of NOS stuff but nothing too special in there. Also the better kohler sign, there were two of them, but the other has paint flecking off on the bottom. I picked up a couple other things, but nothing really worthy of posting. There were a few other off brand parts I picked up and listed on ebay and just about paid for all the little stuff I bought so it worked out well.

It may be worth checking the fuel tap on the tank . Sometimes the vibration. Of the engine running can wind the tap shut ,stopping the gas getting into the fuel line. This happened to me once . I was doing a show with my GT14 & was about to drive into the show arena when the tractor suddenly died , I feared the problem was serious & ended up being towed around the show arena. I got the tractor home a was too scared to deal with fixing the problem in fear that the problem was terminal. I built up the courage to look into the problem 8 months later , I stripped the carb, changed spark plug ,changed fuel took head off to check valves ,nothing. Then I checked the fuel line , no fuel was getting through so checked the fuel tap . Opened fuel tap , turned engine over , vroom . Found the problem . I hope yours is something as simple as this Good luck

Ok, here's what you do. You need to go outside in front of garage, take three steps back and yell "DINO" where are you? More than likely you'll have an answer on your tranny. Stevasaurus does this stuff in his sleep. He's like a resident tractor doctor amongst several others that also know what they are doing. Gonna give you a heads up though, He is also a Bears fan, I don't think he plays well with Cheeseheads enter at your own risk. No it's not all that, I'm, sure he'll wake up sooner or later
