5 pointsHello all my name is Ryan and I live in Gobles MI. Just bought a wheel horse 633 and would like to hear what you have to say about it???? I'm new to WH as I collect AC and Simplicity tractors but my wife likes the WH's so she now has 1. I need some parts for the recoil as it does not catch when pulled over. Any help would be great. This is my wifes 1st wheel horse and she plans on doing a total restoration on it herself.

5 pointsIt has been attempted many times but usually ends up in an electronic fist fight. The only definite way to value most of this stuff is multiply how much it weighs by the current scrap price. Beyond scrap price, "worth" can only be determined on how much someone is willing to pay. Back when the interest / demand was low, prices were much lower. Now that more hands are reaching for that "last cookie in the jar", people are paying crazy prices for tractors in worse condition than ones I would have junked 10-15 years ago.

4 pointsI found this old picture of my original collection. This picture was taken just before the 2002 WHCC show. Since this picture was taken I have figured out I have bought and sold 23 WH tractors ....but Im happy to report these original six are still in the garage plus two more ...a RJ59 and a 633. These kids are little "bigger" too .... Bob T

4 pointsRuns good $450 Runs extra good $500 Runs super extra good, good tires and no fluid leaking around the lift cylinder or hoses $550 More than that and there better be a good story behind it.

3 pointsNot to be a smart ass here, but I don't consider ANY tractor that runs to be a parts machine.Like every thing else in life.....it is what it is.If you maintain tat series one and keep it full of oil,I think they're fine.Hell, buy something brand new and don't take care of it.......few years it will be a piece of crap too.Just my 10 cents worth.

2 pointsStarting to think RS should have a topic heading for what's It Worth Wheel Horse Values. Maybe put some pinned pictures in for comparisons for People that just joine RS for trying to get an idea what there tractor is worth. This topic is almost as popular as Onan exhaust valve issue.

2 pointsgot the flywheel bolted down, screen on. the oil filter and drip tray installed. heads installed with new bolts, replated washers and new gaskets, part # 110-3181. then it was time to build the engine harness. cut all my lengths first, i cut two of everything as i might make up another to sell. wire is 14 ga. tinned marine wire. started building it from the molex connector. crimped terminals on on end of all 9 wires that go to it and pushed them home in the connector. once i worked out where each wire went, i taped them off into their branches. used high temp fiberglass sheathing to cover the wire. then i started installing the harness to make sure the fit was good. ends of the fiberglass sheathing were covered with heat shrink to seal up the ends as well as stop the fiberglass from coming apart. i changed the ends of the oil sender harness to packard single terminal connectors instead of the non insulated push on terminals. installed blower housing and bracket for retrofit onan coil kit part #541-0522. coil, plug wires, regulator installed and wiring hooked up.....

1 pointOnce again, it's never too early to be thinking about the BIG SHOW. June 21st is not that far away, and with the winter we have had, it can't come too soon. So, are you coming this year, and what will you be bringing? Will you be showing tractors, or bringing stuff to sell, or both? Maybe you are just coming to look and mingle. I am hoping to bring my B-100, 701, Commando 8, and 857. I might also have a couple of Lawn Rangers, a B-100, and C-120 to sell. Don't forget to take a look at the printed schedule when you get there to see when the RedSquare group pictures will be taken. Don't know who's in charge of the picture this year, but Steve did a great job last year. So let's get some BIG SHOW enthusiasm going.

1 pointI got started restoring my Dad's Raider 12 this week. We are going for the show room look. This will be the smallest tractor we have ever restored, it's kind of fun! Dad had started taking it apart before he passed but never got it finished. We will have before and after pics soon. I have been around Wheel Horse tractors all my life and used them and never paid them any mind, but boy have I been bitten by the Wheel horse bug now!

1 pointHi everyone, would just like to introduce myself from Scotland and my newly acquired WH Lawn Ranger, This is my first WH and have been on the lookout for this style for a while, it was a 15hr round trip for me and my son to collect from south of England and we are pleased with it. We have restored a few other machines and have made up a small website to share with everyone, we will be adding the WH in the near future, but feel free to have a look www.myclassicvehicles.weebly.com Best regards, Kenny and wee ross

1 pointEd, Be sure to replace the gasket under the oil filter mount. Onans are famous for coming loose with time and that is the only thing I know of on them that wouls allow that much oil to leak out. You can see that it is around the cut-out area for the filter. Onan has improved the gaskets for that position too. Also it wouldn't hurt to Loctite the bolts when you re-install them....................Gary

1 pointWelcome to Redsquare . I saw that tractor up for auction , like Andy said it finished early. The tractor was only about 15 miles from where i live so was tempted to have a little flutter on this GG . Was wondering how you managed to get it back up to Scotland ? Its a nice rare Wheelhorse tractor to get & quite desirable in UK , you bought a gooden . They do come up occationally for sale on ebay so keep tuned or you can get the parts you need from here on Redsquare . There is a guy named P Mackellow from Sussex on here who also has a restored Lawn Ranger & was restored by Chris Sutton . Hope you come back here often to show us how you are getting on with lawn ranger . Regards Neil

1 pointNot knowing what you want to protect, I'll make a wild assumption that it's made of brick or concrete and that since you want to waterproof it, it's probably outside in the elements. (I love using my powers of deduction, ) This product works pretty well... http://www.saversystems.com/products/masonry-water-repellent-products/masonrysaver-water-repellent-for-brick.html I see 6wheeler beat me to another siloxane based product. He types faster than I do.

1 pointJust bought my 1st wheel horse. I seem to like all tractors so it could be any of these this winter!!
-
1 pointJohn - How are your fabrication skills?? The PS unit is nice you posted, but look into retrofitting a PS column out of a JD 318 GT. If you have the ability to do some cutting and welding these are very simple to shorten up and fit into a horse. The advantage of going with the JD column is the newer 318 tractors have a 5-port valve that would allow you to leave your midlift valve operational. You would need to switch the supply line that runs into the midlift and feed the PS column with it then use the 5th port which is power beyond on the PS column to feed back to the midlift supply inlet. I have done a conversion with the JD column on my C-195- and it works great.

1 pointThat's a nice it of fabrication work on the frame and rear hitch, it would be a good idea to fit the cross bar Brandon mentions. It will help with strength and getting the plow on and off with ease.. Here's a pic of a rear hitch I made for my 312-8
