This little rig was built from spare parts to cruise around at the tractor/engine shows. Powered by a Kohler M8. Lots of fun to drive. Technically not a "worker" but it worked to ride me around instead of walking

Really?? The homeowner is not allowed in the meter socket here in Connecticut, and even if you were that's another illegal hookup. I find it hard to believe thats allowed anywhere (willing to bet its not allowed in any state). The interlock setup is the best method on the market right now and its totally legal. There is absolutely no way a mistake could be made and power back-fed to the lines. I have an older setup in my house, its a 200amp whole house manual transfer switch. If I'm not home my son, wife, father, father-in-law etc....can use it and there's no chance it can get screwed up. When the word illegal is thrown around to describe these hook-ups its not done to label the hook-up but to assign blame. If you were to hook-up an illegal generator setup and you (or your wife, son, father, father-in-law..etc...) screws up and backfeeds a line and someone gets hurt or killed YOU are liable! Any money you saved will be surpassed by the lawsuit. It amazes me that guys will go out and plop down big money on a generator and then cheap out on the hook-up. Mike..........

Noooooo!!!!!!!! We've lived in Florida 13 years now and are very acclimated to the warmth. Currently I'm at the kids house in northern Indiana and freezing my tail off when I go outside. I'm voting for a nice stretch of above normal temperatures but looking at the forecast I don't think my vote counts. Dang! Was that a penguin I just saw in the back yard??

I would say that 99% of the time you'd loose traction before breaking anything. I pulled a pop-up camper with my 314-8 up a small hill in low range, probably 2nd gear, with ags and weight - kind of stupid on my part doing this, but the tractor pulled it, no problem. BTW, the camper weighs 1500 lbs. The other consideration is stopping. If you don't have enough weight to stop what you are pulling, you probably shouldn't be pulling it in the first place.

I'm a new member. This is my first post and I wanted to get into this "Windolph" thread as I purchased one last month. It too is a Model C, and I spent a few weeks pulling the drive train, inspecting, replacing, and re-assembling it. As well as trying to repair all the "Mickey Mouse" things. I replaced about one third of the bearings, re-worked the right rear axel stub, as well as most every thing else. I got it out for a short putt around the property yesterday. Now I'm repairing the blade assembly welding up cracks. Without a manual it is tough. I assembled, disassembled, and re-assembled most everything three or four times getting it right. And several things are alright, but I'd do it different next time. And the Windolph originally came with fenders. Someone may have removed this tractor's to help prevent clogging in a clay based soil.

I got sick and tired of the worm gear loosing engagement with the blower chute gear. So I modified it a little heeheehee And here is a video!!

I though I would show off the pole barn I've been building over the course of the last year - yes a year, I'm a first time pole barn builder! The project started off rather dishearteningly when I received excavation quotes from $900 to $9,000... seemingly a little high for a leveling a 24'x36' pad (or so I thought). So on a rather lazy Sunday afternoon a year ago I hooked the moldboard plow to the ranger, fluid filled the rear tires and went to work plowing up the backyard! So began my year long learning process of pole barn construction - and I'm happy to report my trusty ranger only consumed 2 gallons of fuel while leveling the pad for the barn. Below are some progress pictures of the new barn, home now to the lawn ranger and the 310-8! Still plenty to be done, but at least it is weather tight. Never underestimate the capabilities of a Wheel Horse!

It's been a quiet summer I have been trying to downsize and only buy horses and attachments that I really want but I couldn't resist this one for the price. 1991 520H Onan runs but only on 1 cylinder I haven't taken the time to figure out what is wrong with the rear cylinder hopefully just a valve seat. Previous owner added a set of tines to the tiller so it is a 42 inch, I was digging around and found some hubcaps and some misc parts, cab is nice and was mounted on the tractor but I figured it wouldn't do very well at highway speed so I removed it. This was always garage kept and well maintained so everything works great, only 690 hours. Now to repair or part out????

I'm really proud of my find and purchase today. I have been shoveling to long. Little winter rebuild and repair and should be good to go. This is a McCormick #100 made to be pulled by cub farmalls. Hopefully the 520 can handle it. It's got more HP than a cub when new. If not I always have something that will. Looks like a good setup though.

I don't believe these guys either. Sounds like somebody needs to get a life if all they have to do is sit around and hope for snow!!! A little for deer hunting is nice but I don't mind not having to plow or blow the white stuff.

I don't believe you guys! Give me two inches of snow for bear and deer season coming up in the next week then a white Christmas. After that............browns and grays are perfectly fine with me. But you know, if it is going to snow, I'm going to go out and plow, blow and scoop! After all, if you have tools to do a job, you might as well use them. (With a big s#@t-eating grin on your face)!

Nebraska wouldn't surprise me in the least if they dropped an egg, this could be an upset special. Northwestern's luck has to change doesn't it? Home, State just played a big game...things go right for the Wildcats. Minnesota may have a big game....Wisconsin just played a whale of a game...everything went to plan for them. The least possible upset but...?

I installed my Alaska two door stove in 1966 as a back up for my oil burner, and I have been burning wood ever since. The Tecky powered C-120 never fails to blow a path to the wood pile and haul in the fuel. Then I sit back and relive my days afield.

I have a 69' GT14 and love it. I use it to pull a roller and trailer and have a 48" blade on it. I would like a 3 point for it as that would allow more use out of it. When I first got it I was going to do a restoration and even got the decals but I just like the way it looks with its 44 years of use and couldnt pull myself to do it. As far as prices goes it just depends. I traded an old 22 rifle for mine. Good luck.

With all the talk of snow blowers and winter approaching I decided that I needed a way to provide a little heat in the barn for the cold days ahead. I was originally looking for an old pot belly stove on craigslist when my in-laws offered me a box stove that they had bought but never installed. Not exactly what I was after, but free is always the right price. The clearances this stove required were crazy large, so I went to my scrap building materials pile looking for an answer. I ended up installing 1" of concrete board on the wall / work bench side, followed by a left over piece of metal siding (spaced 1" off the concrete board with vents top and bottom). I wanted something different for the top so I took the Wheel Horse and garden cart down to our creek and collected some stone. A little cutting with my cheap Harbor Freight tile saw, followed by a steep learning curve in masonry and a couple close misses to the head by falling rocks and I have a wood stove surround!

We got hit today. Family is ok. Lost most of our windows and part of our roof but is fixable. Houses just a block away are totally gone. Had just come in from taking advantage of the warm weather and pressure washing one of my recently bought horses. Tractor was still sitting where I parked it after the storm, just had the hood and seat flipped up. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

I have a small cast iron pot with grease in it that i use for regreasing bearings. i put it on a camping stove outside cold with bearings packed down in the grease and turn the stove on. let it go on med heat untill the grease heats as far as it will go without burning, then turn it off.. while heating the air in the bearing expands and escapes, while cooling the remaining air contracts and sucks the grease inside. just leave the bearing in the grease untill cool, i usually repeat the process (only takes 10 mins to heat) twice. done it for many years, works pretty well.

All of these options will trap water. If you deal with lots of snow, even the tape gets slick. I'm going to put expanded mesh tread on mine this spring. Farmer has some nice pics of the mod on his. Won't slip, and ice and mud go right through.

If there is some possible other deals in the works, I don't blame you for not giving out any details until all is said and done. There are some, who if they get any kind of information "specially if it's something really good", will steal that "possible deal" out from under you in a heart beat friends or not!!! I really want to know the story but more than willing to wait. Good Job Duke.

Nice find! Lots of manure spread on here.. An old implement dealer here in town has a spreader that they pull in parades with a sign that reads: "This is one piece of equipment that we DONT' stand behind"!

the mission was a success! we used every inch of that little tractor supply trailer. 1000 miles round trip, well worth it.

Thanks for the reply. I will eventually open the 1140 and look for problems. Hopefully rebuild and reinstall. I am leery of opening the 2046 as it is working and seems strong. The pump and axle are so much different , I just don,t have a clue witch might be the correct ports for the lift on the2046. If I can"t get positive assurance where to connect hoses, I"ll probably remove the hyd lift and put on the manual lift.

did the usual carborator cleanout, fuel pump cleanout, battery....but this time I did a kind of breakdown and de-grease...she starts up very easy and runs great...no leaks. she is also easy to mount. thought I would share some pics what a nice tractor this is to ride on...my favorate (roundhood kind of guy) Looking to take this to the Great Lake show in august. :ychain:
