5 pointsNovember 14th, 2006 the original forum (whtractor.15.forumer.com) was established. It became immediately known as RedSquare but why? In 2008, whtractor.15.forumer.com was officially known as WheelHorseForum.com, although it still pointed to the old former site. Finally in 2011, WheelHorseForum became independent, meaning that the site is fully owned. It's been a fantastic 7 years and there's been a lot of change, but the one thing that has remained consistent is it is the best place to come and discuss Wheel Horse tractors! So... looking forward to the next 7 years!

4 pointsAll of mine are workers, and most have a few "non-correct" parts to make them custom. But the Ranger is the most custom: Its my usual "go-to" tractor for just about anything except mowing, the pull start Kohler never has a flat battery, its easy to get on and off, you can pick up sticks etc without leaving the seat, and it does everything I ever ask of it!

3 pointsHello, I'm a new member to this site and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Matt from CT. I recently bought my first wheel horse from a member on here ( a 1989 414-8) and I just picked up a wheel horse lawn sweeper. Hello everyone

2 pointsI originally got Marvin as a beater / back up mower. Was ugly enough. Had a bad Hydro and rusty. It ran sweet and was a blast to drive until the trans got hot. I figured it would be all right to run the blower. i used it to help stain my fence also: Then Vinyl Guy convinced me to go custom. Had to get new sheet metal and a trans at the show. Rebuilt it in July: Took him to the Steam Pageant: Martin will be fitted with a Generac Jenny or the tall chute. Also Has a clevis hitch installed to pull the 10 " Moldboard and a slot hitch for the 8"

1 pointWide rear Wheel Horse wheels? As most of you will of noticed (I know all you UK guy's like to look through ebay a lot ) I am selling the wide wheel I made for my 312 years ago.. I'm getting a lot of interest in them, way more than I thought I would and that has got me thinking.... Is there a market for them.. I could widen them as much as is required, or even narrow them should people be weird that way.. I'm not asking "anyone want some wheels widened", I'm just trying to get a "feel" for if it would be a worthwhile and interesting way of bringing in a few extra pennies.. Any thought's guy's?

1 pointI got sick and tired of the worm gear loosing engagement with the blower chute gear. So I modified it a little heeheehee And here is a video!!

1 pointMost tractor repair places will have the orb 4. Or 5 end adapters or can get them. Either straight or angled . The other end of it will be a flare end. They can then make the hose with common flare ends. I did this on a GT-14 that had a leaking 90 deg fitting. It's not stock but it worked great and it allows you to mix and match trans. with other clys. or valves.

1 pointLook for a cylinder from a 70's tractor. Try to get the valve from the same tractor.....as far as the hoses go that depends on which valve. The Charger has a hose that starts from the back and a later model sundstrand tranny doesn't...... this is the tranny you have on the charger...... This valve is what would have been on the charger.....possibly find a set with the valve and hoses.....if you use a valve from a c series....the hoses to the cylinder are the same but the connections to the tranny at the valve are orb 5 ..... your tranny has orb 4.....first find a cylinder and valve...then we will see what hoses you need.....

1 pointMorning all, I hope I am putting this in the right section here... Although it's to do with a Wheel Horse's, it's not a Wheel Horse build.. So why have I been so quiet? Well, the build itself hasn't been too taxing.. But the filming and editing has. With so much footage to sort out I knew that if I didn't edit every evening I would never get it done... So has the time spent been worth it?? I think so.. Hard work but very enjoyable Let me know what you think Guys 'n' Girls, because your views and opinions will help me decide in which direction to take my videos in the future...

I'm Amazed at the strength of the Yorkshire dead leaf holding up the L/H front corner in Mark's 3rd pic from yesterday! Hope your back fixes quick Mark. Don't overdo it. Great progress and liking it

1 pointThanks a lot. I changed the size of the pics in paintbrush and then saved them to my comp. I was then able to attach them to the forum. Here she is in all her glory. Any feedback on the new addition would be appreciated. By the way, the old cultivator in the background was from another swap.

1 pointSpeaking from experience, I would be very hesitant to endorse any kind of ATV plow if you're serious about using it. I used to have a quad at the ex mudder in laws with a plow and that thing was made from about 22 gauge metal on the moldboard and about 3/4 inch thin wall tubing as a frame. It definitely wasn't robust. The 56" plow on my 18 auto and the 42" on my Charger 12 are serious metal and take some abuse. I used my 18 auto to grade and level 10 Triaxles (300 tons) of modified this past summer for a neighbors drive. I wouldn't even think about trying that with an ATV plow….

1 pointI think I would try to save the rims.Maybe electrolisys or vinegar, not too much sanding or wire wheel.Shoot them with a couple coats of filler primer.Even if you have to patch a little,it would be worth it.

1 pointI sure will. She's a good one for sure. I couldn't ask for any better. I got some more goodies today from harbor freight. This gun feels surprisingly good in my hand and doesn't rattle or clank or feel like junk. I took the advice of all you guys on here and bought the $15 gun tonight. I can't wait to use it. I also bought cleaning brushes, extra gun filters, and a regulator. I was extremely happy.

1 pointUpdate!!!!! Well it is again Wednesday night which means TRACTOR CLUB!!!!! We have finally hit a stumbling block. I went out during my lunch break and turned on the two heaters full blast. Much to my amazement, or should I say disappointment, they couldn't keep up. It was darn cold in the barn tonight. Our group was small tonight and about half focused on the cold, while the other half was focused on working. I tried to encourage them to keep moving while sanding and that would help, but it fell on frozen ears! The kids didn't complain but I could tell that it bothered a few of them a bit. Now I am in the brainstorming process and trying to search for available grants that could possibly help remedy our situation. I have some creative ideas brewing in my thick noggin that hopefully will work. I am going to do my best to figure out how we can get that pole barn insulated before too long or we won't be able to stay on schedule. We can't afford to have this winter a bust! Transporting kids over to my dad's heated building is out of the question so we will have to come up with a solution, and fast! I didn't get any pictures taken tonight as I was working away to hopefully set a good example for the kids. It was still a productive night but not as good as it could have been. We will adapt and continue to move forward. Hopefully I will have some good news that will pop up around the corner. And oh yes.....for those that know me. Yes I was wearing shorts and a sweatshirt and felt fine!

1 pointLOL no hard stops I want to take the top half of the chute off and make a video blowing the snow over the cab and label it Polish snow blower. The motor is call a globe motor. I got it from doing high school robotics competitions. I did fab it all myself. That is the exact reason I did this was the worm gear screwing up and not engaging the ring gear. Drives you nuts. As for a kit I'll talk with Matt and see if he wants to do one.

1 pointI put a precut lenght on the tablesaw with the rip fence and adjust the blade height to cut through one side of the pvc, I am using 3/4 pvc and the kerf of the saw blade is enough and keeps it tight on the blade. ">http:// Its real easy to put on, once cut you get it started on one side and just "bump" it on.

1 pointgreat video ian!! we need more of this sort of stuff. i have thought about a few different ones, just can't seem to stop riding them tractors around long enough. when they need fixing, the last thing i think about is juggling the camera as well. hard enough to constantly remember to take pics to help me get stuff back together without left over parts...... hey steve, don't worry about driving on the other side of the road, its not that hard, i do it here all the time..........
-
1 pointIan, just watched your video...outstanding and entertaining as usual. If I ever get the chance to go across the pond, we will have to share a few pints. You will have to drive though...not much practice driving on the other side of the road. Could be interesting though.

1 pointLast month I entered a 'D-200', this month ..... a 1974 A-800! So let me introduce 'Tiny Tim' the smallest of my workers. Pictured here at the second WH Roundup in the UK this summer alongside my C-120 Auto gives an idea of its small size. The tractor was acquired as a non-runner and had seen better days but had been in regular use till it stopped running. Guys over here thought I was mad wanting to restore one of these, a resto that became a light custom job as I'll explain. To my mind two things were aesthetically wrong with the tractor: the size of steering wheel and fender pan, which on the Euro model assembled in Belgium was the standard pan used on the C series. Apart from looking bad, the seat which was not adjustable and the depth of the three spoke steering wheel made for a pretty awkward and uncomfortable position for an average sized guy to operate it. Restoring the tractor was the easy part, the pan and driving postion more challenging. The standard C series pan was way out of proportion to the tractor being both too long and too wide and created an unsightly slot or should I say gaping hole that was not even central for the gear shift. Difficult to say why WH decided on this for the Euro model. Initial thoughts were to cut and shut it but it would have required many cuts in both axes all with awkward curves to deal with. Decided to go for mixed model / era approach and use the pan I'd salvaged from a 210-4. It involved a lot of careful cutting, particularly for the gear shift gate, adapting the seat mounting from the 210, and devising a way of fixing the whole assembly to the A-800. Don't know why but a 210 fender pan has lots of holes for things that were not fitted - more than is usually the case so me being me I welded over some of them to reduce the number to an 'authentic level as there always seem to be some. Together with a new seat and 'soft touch' steering wheel salvaged from a B-165 the new arrangement provided a much more viable driving position and looked in proportion to the tractor. I didn't remember to take a photo of it with the red & white WH decal on the back but I think the outcome was worth the effort. It's great fun to drive - a little tractor with attitude that likes pulling a cart or the roller as well as cutting grass. Given its size I was surprised to discover that WH actually made a snow blade for these. I've added fabbing one based on the drawings to my to do list as that would be the icing on the cake. If any of you have an A-800 with blade please let me know as I'll probably need some of the critical dimensions from it. Andy

1 pointwell heres the last chapter in this saga, the seat.......i constantly hear about the lack of seat on this one, that ive gone onto other tractors and dont care about the seat.to be honest the horse blanket served me well, but i must admit the seat that i just installed looks awesome.im very happy with it, i wanted red and white instead of the black and white and i also didnt like how the lines for the colors go on the back rest at an angle, so i asked the trimshop i got it done at to change these few things. i made up the plywood bases and fitted the backrest with hidden nuts to be able to bolt it to the backrest frame....anyway heres how it looks, jeanine hasnt seen it yet,(its now her tractor) but i think shes going to be happy with it........ seat bases cut out and fitted..... seat all finished........ alright, i think i should be done with the seat now, maybe....... i could probably put the blanket back on for special occasions, hey mike? (ol550) right after i post this i think i will upload one of the seat pics to the gallery, just to get the word out that the blanket has been retired........ :handgestures-thumbup:

1 pointYesterday was the first time in days we didn't see triple digit temperatures. So I got some of my tractors out and the Wheel Horse 314-8 got it's official introduction to the rest of my herd. It seemed to a bit timid. So I guess I need to bring home my '79 C141 automatic.
