I just got home, and I am whipped! That's a lot of driving for one day. I took a couple pics when I was at a gas station, and thought I'd post them. In the pics the owner sent me it looked like seat was a little tor up, but that was not the case. The stuff around the bottom of the seat that made it look bad was actually the original clear plastic that came on the seat when new. This seat is beautiful! Anyway, here are the pics. Matt

A fun tractor for consideration... here's my dual agged, early '58, #1188.

How are you suppose to get tractors ready for snow duty when you have grass to cut yet. Are grass is the greenest it's been all year and growing like crazy. I can't mow because we keep getting rain and Snow! The leaves are not even all down yet. Went to mow the other day and the ground had this white stuff all over it. We keep getting snow, Guess I will be out there to see what that 48" deck can blow off the drive. Crazy weather.

I think by state would make it much easier to find the dealers local to your area.

Here's my 1990 520H

well I don't really have a wheel horse tractor, but I do have a couple of these Ponds!

I put a set of duals on my RJ58 project tractor. Also jacked it down in the front with a set of smaller bar lugs. It's got the original 4 hp Kohler on it. I took the small butt type of seat off it for my 1956 RJ35 and the gas tank got sniped off it too. I replaced the seat with the correct type but now I need a gas tank for it. I will have to sand blast and paint this seat and the front rims. Click on the pics for a larger image. Stick it back in the shed until next time....KJ

Holy Crap!!! at 1:35 was that a "barking spider"!!!! Steve, a true man cave....coffee cup and all !!!!! Sing it Steve!! does your wife look out the window and just shake her head??!!?? I think you should put the plow on and do your drive around the block!!!

On a side note...I took the springs, after they were in electrolysis...wire brushed them with the 4" grinder put them on the charcoal grill for about 20 minutes (to dry them out), and then soaked them in a penetrating oil solution that I made of 3 parts ATF, 1 part paint thinner (for oil based paint), and 1 part diesel fuel for about 3 days. Looking for the penetrating oil to soak into the metal...they look great, we will see if it will last through the winter. Here is a video of watching paint dry...could not resist doing this...click on the picture.

First time I've ever used seafoam. I've noticed it running better, but it still has a long way to go before I'm happy. Stayed back at work tonight and got the wheel weights powdercoated. Also decided to paint the bracket that holds the front of the seat pan and gas tank in place, it was a little rusty and we can't have any of that nonsense. I think the silver is fairly close to the wheel color.

I was just thinking it's calendar time. I will be checking on the cost of professionally printed wall calendars for those that are interested again this year. I sent out close to 40 calendars last year. I will make the cut off day for ordering a week after Justin's file is out so those lucky enough to be included in the calendar can get one if they wish. Up for humble consideration is my 1973 18 Auto. Completely redone by me in 2012. Pic show winter and summer. I reworked a 60 inch deck from a 520 to make the ultimate big mowing machine. Hopefully 1 pic will be considered good enough. Thank you very much for your consideration.

19 Foot Long Pole Saw. Made it myself long pole saw for about $20. First you need to get lucky and find the right Saw blade. I happened to get real lucky and asked the right young lady @ Lowes for help. I got the last out of package reduced pull type limb saw that Lowes had for $ 3.90. Plus small bolts and wing nuts for $ 4. And the In expensive conduit for just a couple more bucks. One 10 footer ¾ inch & One 10 footer 1 inch in diameter. Total length is 19 feet it is a bit cumbersome to use, and just a bit heavy. Operator need to be patient and work slow. Its important the blade is a pull type blade. This means the blade only cuts the material when it is pulled towards you. Cutting on the push does not work well at 19 feet. Also use a wax type lubricant on the blade. This helps a great deal to make the job easier. Mount the blade @ that typical slight angle. I used a piece of broken sledge hammer handle inside the pipe to mount the blade. I turned it down on a lathe to fit, then cut the slot with a saws all. Two bolts with jam nuts to hold the blade tight. Ten cuts later, its all still tight so I think it turn out all right and cut’s fast to. Two bolts with wing nuts hold the two pipes together. I over lapped them about 1 foot. I can reach up over 20 feet and cut. When I store it I have the pole slid together. One Bolt and wing nut hold to two together the other bolt is just in the handle end so I know were it is. If or when I need it only half way extended I will drill those holes then.

How about some more video's, "Steve making his football pics"," Steve making wine" " Steve Joins an Encounter Group" Ect. Ect. Maybe an ultimate video, Steve At The Big Show!! You could interview guests, have a discussion forum, You and Bob do a Trans clinic. I can be in the background walking back and forth hauling parts!

Matt, I remember a C-120 at the tractor show in jacksonville ,IL last month that was considered a "special" model because it was one of the few(I thought he said 200 C-120 tractors) built with a Tecumseh installed at the factory. The C-120 owner was explaining that a limited number of these models were built with the tecumsehs because during production, Kohler couldn't supply enough engines to meet/ finish the total number of tractors built... Which is why its labled a C-120 SPECIAL. and becoming collector items to some.. Matt I know yours dosen't say Special, but Just thinking Maybe thats the case with your C-160. Maybe somebody else has more info about c-series and Tecumsehs.?

I did notice this morning that there is a wheel horse clevis hitch on ebay...search on Wheelhorse Brinly Adapter. That would be one piece needed.

Matt, you really did well with this one. I would say having a C160 with that engine gives you some bragging rights !

There are companies who will powder coat a bunch of your parts at the same time, and the price per piece will drop considerably, the more you have done at once. Shop around. You can do some of the prep work yourself. Their price does seem very high.

I know where your coming from MalMac. It looks like the toggle switch has been thrown though. We went from summer to early winter in Central PA. No snow put most of the trees on the valley floors have 60% of their leafs, the grass is green and the air now is cold! I'll be mulching leafs this weekend then changing oil. I just need to mount the plow yet on the 310. This will give me the loader on the 520, the blower on the C175 and the plow. And I wouldn't care if they never get used from now to April!

Wow that looks like a nice find.. I think that cart looks like an original Wheel Horse cart.. I didn't know they put the tecky in a C-160 either..

I just wish we could see the whole tractor.

All great tractors. I consider myself blessed to having the privilege of being a farmer. I started out on a Ford 9n when I was just 5yrs. old. Graduated to an 806 at the age of 8. During my teens is when I spent 2yrs straight in the cab of the Steiger. I also spent many hours in many JD's, ranging from a 4020 all the way up to a 9750 STS Combine. Massy Ferguson, Case and New Holland were other tractors I spent hours in the seat. But nothing was like the Steiger Panther. Many nights I would take a nap in the cab. I'd idle it down, turn up the heat, take about a 40 minute nap and I was ready to run all night long. I remember several times working straight through the night. Was the first one in, fueled back up all 400 gallons and back in the field again. Had 24 lights total on the tractor. At night it looked like just 1 big bright blur in the distance. I am rambling.....

Back when I had my A/C business I used to do mobile a/c repair at area farms. I had 1 older farmer that had all Farmall/IH tractors and did custom combining all over the north eastern part of our county. Great guy and would always pay in cash what I wanted for any job with out quibbling. His son on the other hand thought he new everything and let everyone know about it. Anyway his son bought one of those Panthers. Father was pissed because it was green! Dad called one day because the Panther's A/C quit. I came down spent about 4 hours there and when done told dad the total. He reaches in his pocket and gives me $50 more than I wanted and says the extra is because his son is paying and it's green! Son comes into the store I worked at a couple of days later squawking about the cost. I say it's fixed, aint it? and he leaves. Fast forward 6 month's. Son calls yelling that his A/C doesn't work. I go out there and just the dad's there. I start it up and the A/c is running but little air is coming out the vents. I ask if the filters have been checked lately and the dad said his son just changed every filter on it. I pull the cover on the smaller stack and the filter is plugged solid. Now air is flowing good without the filter, OOPS!! Son missed that one! The Dad ask's how much I needed and I say don't worry about it. He reaches into his pocket and hands me $50 and says it will be worth the look on his son's face when he gets home!

Probably won't need the blower----snow'll melt before the blower gets there.
