3 pointsHi All I havent been around much but have been lurking from time to time. Hope everyone is well. I decided to put my somewhat beat up LSE back together and let her stretch her legs a bit. I figure if I can't get some decals to do a proper restore than I'll enjoy tooling her around . I might even put a cab on and use her for snow blowing duty.Well, I hope to be around here more in the future. Couple of pics. ( The seat is being re ferbed ).

2 pointsAs usual while surfing cl came across an ad for 520 with 60 inch deck but motor out and apart.... Called the guy and ended up being a young guy who was selling his grandfather's (original owner) 520. it has been in his dad's barn for at least 4 years. I made an offer and he agreed so off I went. IMO I paid what the deck is worth. I have a low hour onan out of another 52o that is ready to drop in. Got it home and gave it a real good bath. Only has 309 hours on the clock. Looking at the engine it turns freely and the valves look good to me. I think the issue was electrical. Got her home and pressure washed it and the deck and here she is. My friend who is my neighbor has been looking for a nice 520 with the 60 inch deck so I think this will be heading next door since I already have two.

1 pointHow many of you guys or gals have a Snowco implement trailer to haul your GTs around on? If you have one, then post a picture of it. They were built here in Nebraska (In Omaha) and that's one reason I like them and also the same brand as 8 or 10 of my trikes.... I have 2 of them. First one is a 954, 900lb capacity 54'' wide 10' 10'' long. Second one I just got yesterday is a 948, 900lb capacity 48'' wide 9' 9'' long.

1 pointWow! The Wheel Horse community has kept me very busy! I want to personally thank everyone for your kind words and praises. I also want to congratulate you on being an important part of the best hobby in the entire world; Wheel Horse Tractors. I am forever amazed at the diversity of people from all walks of life that share the same interest and love for Pond and Wheel Horse tractors. I would be remiss if I didn't publicly thank Karl Lyon again and again and again. He is a person larger than life who brings out the best in others. One of the most amazing things to me is that if I am in a bad mood, I simply take a tractor out of the barn and go for a ride. By the time I return, I always feel 100% better. The positive feedback has been overwhelming. Most comments have been on the high quality of the binding, the high quality of the paper, and the high quality writing. Many have complimented on the clarity of the images and the readers have enjoyed reading the fine print in all the news articles and brochures. A lot of readers have loved the three new chapters and the #1 love is the DVD. I personally am very proud of the way the entire package turned out. My goal was to create a resource/history book of these miniature tractors and the people who manufactured them that would make Cecil and Elmer Pond proud. I have had one complaint on shipping charges. This person told me of an entire blog bashing me, but I can't locate it anywhere. I am only shipping USPS Priority Mail because Media Mail, although less expensive, does not offer a tracking number included in the cost. A tracking number can be added, but at an additional cost. When I shipped the previous editions, I used strictly Media Mail. I had hundreds of complaints of it taking too long for books to arrive, damaged books, and books never arriving at their destination. Karl and I set up the USPS shipping module on www wheelhorsestory.com and after a few adjustments, have got it down almost to the penny. Please keep in mind that included in the shipping cost is a $1.00 charge that is my exact cost of the custom box and packaging materials. The only other complaint I have had was from someone who called my book pornographic. The thing that has amazed me through this endeavor is that even though every piece of information in this book is fact, directly from the mouth of Cecil Pond, there have been a few silly readers who seem to know more about the tractors than the man who thought them, designed them, built them, and sold them. I do not proclaim to be a Wheel Horse genius, but more of a messenger of information Straight From the Horse's Mouth, Mr. Cecil Pond. I have come to realize the old saying that you can not please everyone is true. With the rate they are flying out of here, I strongly suggest buying another copy and putting it away for your child or grandchild. At some point there will not be any copies remaining and people will be reselling them on Ebay and Amazon at premium prices. Beginning in October, the book will become advertised in Lawn and Garden Tractor Magazine along with Gas Engine Magazine. I am very excited about this as Kate is one of the most amazing and sincere people that I have ever met and Gas Engine Magazine/Stem Gas Publishing is the company that published my first edition. I anticipate holiday sales to be overwhelming.

1 pointMike, I personally want to thank you for this project... the finished product shows your effort and attention to detail. Now my opinion in reference to the complainers and self proclaimed experts... for this group I have learned one thing in life: You can never make everyone happy... if they are offended by one pic then tell them to rip the page out of the book or turn the page really fast when they get there, their issue addressed... if someone says they know more than you, tell them to write a book about it... and if the shipping costs is to much for someone just tell them "What do you want from me, take it up with USPS". I, as well as 98% of the WH population appreciate your historical documentation and excellent finished product. Thank You!

1 point@Tankman - Dinner was very good as is always the case for Cracker Barrel. I have begun restoration on it. It didn't show in the pictures but the back end (dump area) was pushed in, so I removed the brace that is welded on in that area and started straightening the sheet metal. That is some tough sheet metal. Got to be at least 1/16" thick. After I get the straightening done, and the dings out of the bottom, it will be powder coated and the inside coated with bedliner material. And of course new decals.

1 pointJim, who didn't know that! I knew that it would be you or Stevasaurus that would fire this up, which is good because I have already been thinking about getting something posted. It's not going to change so much this year but watchout it'll be going crazy next year! Ok , then I'll get something up soon about the Big Ten's season, Stay tuned, same bat time, same bat station! I gotta go back to bed!

1 pointAfter the set screw is torqued down just snug up the locknut. Any tighter and the nut tends to pull the set screw back out so you lose the torque you put on it. The 1978-79 service manual 810063R1 shows a hub set screw torque of 28-32 ft. lbs. on page 1-4. Garry

1 pointFor reference...here's a vid of my 702 plow and mount. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdZ7tyRpE-w Just remember, no ramming into piled up snow... or you can expect this to happen to your trans mount.

1 pointWell, Finally an update! I have been working on the hood a little bit. I have everything finished up that needs bondo now, just a couple little touch ups and then I can prime and start sanding the entire hood. If I can keep myself from buying something at kellys show I will be ordering new rubber soon. I am also hoping to take the wheels for this, my 57 rj35, and some better fronts for my 401 to the powder coater. The motor is still sitting in the same spot it has been for the last few months. Here is a picture of the hood. P.S. This is post 3,000
