For the past 6 years I have been telling customers how much help they can get if they register at RedSquare. and now that I have the bug and a couple tractors I am so thankful for the quick response to my questions which quickly got my beast roaring through the grass that I got to thinking . We have some very knowledgeable Horse-A-Holics on here who are real life savers. Or Horse Savers I guess. so I thought we should have a badge for those who always seem to respond rapidly to many calls for help. so here's A Badge for our RedSquare EMT members. Of course you will have to get your own Ambulances.

New battery off the shelf and the big kohler comes to life. Smoked up the shop a bit but not bad after 2 years of sitting. Took it for a test ride and found the hydraulic lift to work fine so I engaged the deck and gave it full throttle. Running strong so down with the deck and start tearing up grass. Decided I better ride up to the station and put some fuel in the complimentary replacement tank. (thanks again Sorekiwi, Your a lifesaver) She started right back up so decided to mow the whole property. the seat is a bit hard for my old keester and too far forward. Also need to check the air in the tires and grease and adjust the steering but all in all it was a total success. Got to see if the charging system is OK next. then clean some mice nests and degrease the engine. It apparently has a leaking seal but the oil is right on the full mark. I could not believe what I found when I took the old cracked tank out. Photo later.

About a year ago I picked up this C-145. It's been on the disabled list. Now after rebuilding the motor and a few odds and ends it's Mechanically restored. Took it out today for it's first wack at the grass/weeds. After it's shake down cruise I do believe it will make a good worker.

Got out in the garden today and took a couple of photos of my home made rake, tines are from Agri Supply. The tong is 2" X 1/2" steel flat stock that I cut down to 3/8 thick to fit the slot hitch. The rest is just 2"angle iron and 1" X 1/8" flat strap.

Filed the points this morning and got it started. Not long enough to know if its a smoker because the tractor started moving and would have quickly ran away with the charger in tow. Guess the Hydro needs adjusted. anyone have experience in that department. Going to buy a new battery for it as this one is toast.

Sorry to say but there is no cure for WH fever. All you can do is treat the symptoms ( keep buying more )

thanks for all the info guys! I was planning to go look at it last night but am having truck issues... I have a military verson of the k5 blazer (M1009) that has a 6.2 detroit in it that I turbo'd. I'm pretty sure it needs an injection pump :/ I'm trying to talk my one buddy into either taking me there tonight or letting me use his truck. I'll keep you all posted! The guy said I can cut some grass with it before i buy it if i want too.

The other sleeve bearings look pretty good visually. I looked in my GE "Diesel Engine Bearings a Guide to Inspection and Analysis," book, (applies to all sleeve bearings) and the cam bearing that failed suffered thermal destruction- in other words it seized. Why, we don't know. An excellent investment, and also dirt cheap for working on small engines (or anything else) is the 3 micrometer set, and the telescoping gage set at Harbor Freight, less than $50 for both. Their quailty is actually very good for Harbor Freight. -Mark-

Hi Terry I wish u the best of luck with the Auto. These are good tractors. I had a C141 real beefy. It took to much room with the plow. Good luck and enjoy your project. Make sure u make time for yourself. Gary B...

Gotta say, I never even gave it a thought as to weather or not you actually had a horse. Looks like a pretty one there. I had a hydro tranny and liked it very much. After the cupholder, you'll need to find someone who can whip you up some new decals for it. Good luck.

I scan cl a couple weeks ago and find a "make offer" 1974 C120 with a box of rocks kohler.I offer 25 clams and poof, its in my stable.I then horse trade a royal wood furnace for 417-8.The 417's po was the original but legaly blind so it was in rough cosmetic shape but serviced by the dealer, got the deck(or what resembled the deck)It was wrinkled as could be.I decided to "scrap the car clyde" and combined the two! What came out was purty sexy.I tore down the sundstrand from the C and had my way with it.Inside and out it performed well.I put the KT17 on the 120 chassis mounted the fuel tank and rear fender on the hydro rear.I fabricated a new, higher battery box to accomodate the big twin and changed the manual lift to a sweet electric lift.I think the combo of new(rear) and old front works very well. With the right"accidental" parts, things really come together nice in wheel horse land!

I have been working on the trike for about 6 weeks so as promised here is an update. After the pieces were returned from sand blasting it was obvious that after sitting outside for who knows how many years the main pieces have large areas of pitting. Normally I would use glazing putty for the small stuff and bondo for the larger but in this case it would take 4 tubes of glazing putty and then some. So I decided to take care of the worst areas and leave the remaining as is. Because of the condition of the metal automotive paint was out of the question since it would amplify all the flaws. I decided to go with Tractor Supply IH Red since I have half a gallon left over from another project. This left my budget with some money to add some frills I have been wanting to try for some time. When I was younger I restored/modified cars (God I wish I had that $$$ back) sooooo I thought why not add some custom stuff Under body neon lighting is neat so why not? I found a small kit with six lights that can product three colors Red, Green and Blue. I will set it for Red. Installation is best done before attaching the sub frame to the transmission. I decided to install the steering tower so I can finish my wiring without other parts getting in the way. I added a gauge cluster that has Volt Meter, Oil Pressure and Oil Temp. I found a motorcycle AM/FM Radio so what the heck might as well have some tunes. A few lighted toggle switches complete the package. When the wiring is complete I will Install the engine, add the dash so I can complete the wiring process. The trike is being built to pull our "Hauler" Since the umbrellas did not work well I am taking some time off this week to fabricate a "surry" top complete with fringe. Hopefully my idea for the frame works Thats it for now. Will post more later. Wildbro

Why wouldn't you let him help fix it...with your supervision, of course?

You did the right thing by taking yesterday off from your restoration. Painting Wheel Horse parts and a having a Colonoscopy in the same day is too much fun. What would there be to live for after a day like that?!?!?!

Hey guys, The gas tank on my C-160 had some sort of putty around the shut off valve to keep it from leaking. Well it still leaks very slowly so I decided to take the tank off and check things out. The tank is fine and so is the shut off valve. However, there is no gromet (maybe wrong word) that the shut off valve goes into. The PO just put some putty to hold it on the tank. Does anyone know the part number for the piece that goes between the tank and the valve? Thanks,
