3 pointsEver since I got the Senior, I keep getting whipped in the face with the starter rope. The Wisconsin engine has long stroke and gives you a workout sometimes to start it. So I had a thought. Why not make something sot of like the guys use on drag cars. A hand held, battery operated remote starter. I got an old starter/generator from SteveBo. It didn't work and was missing the voltage regulator which I wouldn't need anyway. I picked up a new set of brushes for it and proceeded to pull it apart and clean and rebuild it. After that it worked great. Added handles, solenoid, push button and alligator clips with cable from an broken trickle charger. Now I can just stand next to the tractor with the starter and a long "V" belt and start the tractor.

2 pointsI've only got one wheel horse, and I've run out of room, aha, time to clear all my old (rubbish) out and make room for two or three more of these machines.

1 pointBought this 1277 for a hundred doller bill. A little marvel mistory oil down spark plug hole and whala....... valves working fine and runs like a champ! New tires and my Project is on its way a buck at a time!

1 pointI got a 62 Lawn Ranger in good shape but was wondering if I should restore it. If i did i would probably repaint it and get new parts along with new tire tubes. Should I do this or should i just clean it up a bit and leave it the way it is? I am really proud of the tractor but because i am a kid i don't have a lot of money to use on these tractors. My parents want me to save up to get a car but i've always wanted a neat hobby like this that other people did too. Thanks for tips! Sorry if i ramble a bit!

1 pointOnly about 1/2 acre is all I mow, but slight upgrade back to front(~6' rise over 200'). The WH handles it well when belts aren't jumpin, but when I have to get out the push mower in the humidity/heat it does a number on me. That's how come I got the WH and deck back up after 13 yrs settin' "coma mower" had all main drive dead or dyin', it's all my fault too!

1 pointThank you i apreciate it. Im only 19 so to hear my work looks good means alot. Its my first wheel horse and i hope to use it and maybe show it

1 pointI am a user of Seafoam also. The variability of gasoline sold in the U.S. (now by season for emission controls) and with various content of ethanol and other refinery additives seems to be more of a concern today than engine/motor fuel use to be. That said, Saeform is an old product. Used and developed in the 1950's for motor boat motors. I have found Seafoam to be a useful product and much better than Stabil in maintaining quality of the fuel and not gumming up any of the works.

1 pointHere is a nice double storage rack I built to fit in a tight spot in my garage. It was the first big welding project I ever did and it turned out to be a perfect fit! So now I can weld and I am that much more dangerous in the shop! Here's another shelf I built for WH storage in my buddies barn. I've got a 1962 Lawn Ranger up there, a 1963 Lawn Ranger, and a 1965 Lawn Ranger. Underneath I have a 1963 Springfield Suburban and I parked a 1963 Model # 953 in there after this pic was taken and a 1964 Model 1054.

1 point1958 Wheel Horse Ride-Away Jr. RJ-58, s/n: 101916 Started with essentially just a rolling frame (first image below), and ended up here after !3 calendar months, a lot of parts searching, and a whole bunch of hard-won restore work. First shown at the 2010 Wheel Horse Show in Arendtsville, PA. This machine has been restored to 100% correct mechanical configuration. Shown with the RJ-58 is a fully restored and functional 1960 model CBR-32 - 32" Sickle Bar Mower. Enjoy!

1 pointno real progress with mine. ive worked out if i just move the dcl a small amount and let the hydro 'fill' itself, then it will grab drive and go without being harsh...... i think the screen is probably the culprit, but until i get some time to work on it who knows? i will try the extra fill and see what happens..... the c160 isnt real high on the priority list right now. its probably going to stay how it is in all its rusty patina glory, ive fixed all electrical and repaired the rusty oem muffler, but as far as anything else goes, its just sitting covered up. too many other projects, kents 875 to finish, maybe a c175 build, and the cub 682 is probably getting a refresh for the summer...... oh, and my wife wants me working on the house as soon as the weathers nice. and thats a whole summer long and more project.......

1 pointI had a chance to work on the hood today and thought id post some pics of the progress. I used a high build primer , let the primer cure over night. Then i wetsanded the primer with 600 grit then finished with 1200. I was pretty happy with the way it came out hopefully i can get to the rear end and frame soon.

1 pointHere is the first shelf unit me and the kids built in the pole shed It filled up pretty fast as you can see....I have been selling a few tractors so the 657 and 753 have been replaced with different horses. This was the second shelf me and the kids built I have been selling some horses so it is a little empty today. The shed needs a major spring cleaning. A few stripped down tractors live outside, 2 are in the workshop slowly getting completed, and 3 more are in the attached garage so they are getting stored about everywhere I can find room. Here is the shop before I started finding better places for the horses...the pair of D200 tractors sure do take up a lot more space than the little RJ Here is the pole shed before building shelves

1 pointRoom for 3 up top, 3 little ones underneath or 2 1/2 bigger ones. Honestly its not a great arrangement, I havent touched the tractors on the top shelf since I put them up there (probably 3 years now).
