5 pointsThere will be other Holiday theme skins when the times come. I will leave the main wheel horse forum area the standard forum skin and always allow you to switch back to the standard view. The other holiday skins will be on the forum for just 1 day, and it's meant to be a fun addition and put everyone is a festive mood.

2 pointsFrom what i've been told, in a motor oil such as straight 30 wt. with an "API" service indicated as SL, SM or the latest SN, the oil should be of the same equal quality regardless of brand or price. The actual additives in these oils are manufactured by only two different companys in the U.S. with" SN" being the most recent service indication. So from what I understand it should be the same stuff . So price, brand , or who sells it shouldn't make a difference as long as it was manufactured in the U.S.. Just make sure containers are sealed to prevent contamination or anything else. I will agree, when you don't see where the oil is coming from (i.e. jiffy lube) there is no sure way to know what your getting when you do't see it go in or know where it came from. Thats what I know. :)

1 pointWe are still alive, and some looting has begun. Some generators were stolen up the street from me last night. Mine is chained to a telephone pole in my pole barn. We are putting it in the shed and blocking it with the fromt end loader before I go to bed. Needless to say some particular items are stashed and loaded ... Still no power here, they are rationing gas at certain stations by me, the townships brought generators to the local gas stations. We have put approximately 15-20 hours on our generator. I am powering my aunts house As well with 7000w generac and with two furnaces, refridgerators and some lights we are only drawing a 20% load so it's pretty fuel efficient. Also Ken B I am picking up those 2 tractors for you tomorrow. Don't worry buddy! I have another surprise for you lol.

1 pointI think the lack of respect Work Horse 700s get is because of the Tecumseh engine, which I can understand. But other than the motor their built just like most '60's WH's. I personally like the decals on the 700/500 tractors the best. I paid $200 for mine with a mower deck and a newer HM80 motor.

1 pointTim, just like you I can't really remember what we did on the D8 we had years ago. But a plugged return line sounds familiar. I will talk to my uncle this evening after work and see if he can remember. I think we just took the valve cover off and blew the lines out with air into the crankcase. The big "PIG" as we called it, is just a rusty pile of iron now. It met with an untimely death when a hired man (not me) un-knowingly put 4 gallons of calcium chloride that he mistook for water in the radiator. The machine had a leaking head gasket and we would just fill it up with water when we used it. It was supposed to go in the shop over winter that year and get fixed. It ran fine the day he put it in but then it sat for about 2 weeks after, and in that time locked up tight. My uncle and I went up to the farm where it was sitting and pulled the head but 3 cylinders looked like a rust and corrosion factory and it leaked down into the crankcase so the damage was way too bad.

1 pointWhat a fantastic find Ken! None of my old engines looked that good when I found them. Its amazing how similar looking the different makes of engines were back then. The way the tank looks, and the sediment bowl look ver similar to my old Briggs engines. Here is a pic of a 1950 Briggs NP. Congrats! Matt :flags-texas:

1 pointI build a 8 foot fence my so wife can't see what's on the other side of the fence as I have 15 more wheel horses on that side. Also I have a detached garage/barn she never goes out side and see what's in there and I have another 12 wheel horses in there. Finally I buy and fix up power equipment and sometimes I give her a cut of the profits and that's the key and that what makes her happy...

1 pointI have two with blowers on right now, a 161 with a different hood, a C81, a Commando 800 with atv tires and weight box that is waiting for me to mount the blade, and a B60 with a blade already mounted. I just picked up a mid mount grader blade to scrape the slush. I am ready this year so there won't be any snow, lol. Gene,,

1 pointI'll second what CRE and Squonk said. I tow a 26 travel trailer. It pulls with a weight distributing hitch. It's a lightweight design and only weights in dry at 4600lbs. I pull it with my 2010 F150. No need for a big expensive dually. It meets the needs of my family of 4 just fine. Unless you are retired or do an extreme amount of camping (more than 50 nights a year) and/or are rich, there really is no need for a 30+ foot 5th wheel. Generally RV suck a huge amount of fuel. Now add the weight of pulling even a small car and forget it. We went across the country last year through the rockies, up into Montana, then back across through North Dakota, back down to Iowa and across I80 home. Saw all the national parks along with a bunch of other places. My niece was getting married in Montana so we were going out either way. I towed my other camper with the same truck. It was a little lighter at around 4100lbs dry. 5 weeks on the road cost me a total of $2200 for fuel. The total miles was 6600. The airline tickets for the 4 of us just to go out to Montana round trip would have cost $3000. We have talked to a lot of retired people who spend most of there time on the road. It is a mixed opinion about wether to go the truck/trailer or RV car/tow route. I look at it this way. If you have a lot of money, go the RV pulling a car route. If your just a regular guy, go the truck/trailer route. My 2010 truck ended up costing around $30,000 new after rebates and discounts. My trailer which we just bought this spring cost $18,000 new. For less than $50,000 we can go anywhere, anytime, and for as long as we want. The truck doubles as my winter vehicle and chores around the house. I use a 1987 Honda Accord for my commuter/around town vehicle (gets 35 mpg, is in great shape and saves putting extra mileage on the truck). I suggest going on some of the Camping/RVing forums, do your research and figure out what works for you.
