ive had tires taken off at the local tire shop and no damage at all done to them. its a different story if i do them at home. the seats are usually rusty and i want to do a nice job on repainting the wheels. if they are careful the machines can get them off without putting excess force in one area, like with irons, thats the way i usually end up damaging them. if its a wasted set of tires then who cares...... i just like knowing that theres a nice coat of paint on all the rim and not just where you can see it. it takes care of the rust ( most of the 40 year old stuff thats never been taken off before that i have redone rims for has rust). and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy that i went to the trouble of making the rim last longer and not just look better........ also everything i repaint is powdercoated, so i dont really have a choice anyway.....

I ordered 3/4" rivets from McMaster, and along the way, I noticed some Two-Piece Press-Fit Tubular Rivets. I figured - what the heck, they are cheap, and might be just the thing. I ordered them in addition to the regular rivets. I also picked up some two part epoxy that the local store, and finally got around to putting it all together last weekend. I decided to use the two piece press fit rivets as they looked to fit almost perfectly. After epoxying the heck out of everything, I put it together and tapped the rivets together with a tack hammer and let everything dry. There were a few epoxy drips, but nothing to worry about. Throughout last week, I did a little each night, and finally got it all reassembled today. After running the engine for a minute and engaged the pto and it worked perfectly. I now have FEL hydraulics again. Woohoo. Thanx for your help Andy!

I did not know that. I'll look for some sheet metal the same gauge and repair it up :)

Hi Martin , great progress and quality work as usual. I have a similar issue with the Gauge on mine, not so much the lense fogging on the inside where airborne dirt dust mixes with the humid air and is drawn inside, settles on the lense and is left there when it dries out. More like corrosion dust on the Needle pivot on mine. I've decided to leave it as is, but I've added a tight fitting rubber gasket surrounding the Bezel to try and reduce the moisture ingress.

As good as that guage looks, I think I would leave well enough alone. It would be a shame to accidentally damage it. Matt :flags-texas:

Had a busy day today, first thing this morning we had to load up for a parade we took 4 tractors, had a great time. When I got home from the parade, I set everything up to paint, and I think I got everything sprayed, the weather was nice to paint, but the bugs were out, so I have a few critters in the paint, but it is a worker tractor so they can stay, I'm still getting the hang of using this paint, it runs easy, and is hard to get smooth with out heavy orange peel, but I think I have it, lots of thin coats, with out waiting much between coats so it melts in but is not to heavy, I did run the hood in two spots trying to get it to flow out, they with the bugs will be staying, adds character to it, then right after cleaning the gun, putting stuff away a BIG fly does the back stroke on the fender right over the side where all will see it, not in the middle where the seat will cover it, I pulled him out but I still have one or two legs left, and a nice spot where it spun in a circle it did flow out some but what do you expect for painting outside in the driveway. Another thing I don't like about oil base paints is the mess, I was red from head to toe, had to wash my arms in lacquer thinner, I did think to put Nitrile gloves on so my hands stayed clean. I need to spray the sulky in the morning, more red all over everything, but I think I will be done spraying all the red after that. Fender not looking to bad, right before a sqaudron of bugs hit it. Parts hanging, these got no bugs Hood and more parts got the top of the hood pretty smooth, with the thin coat trick one of the bugs, right after this pic is when the BIG fly landed almost the same spot

Looks real nice Martin. I gotta be honest though, its looks a little more like a restoration to me than a quick redo. :ychain:

Though Waylon and Cash are my Country guys its real hard to pinpoint my Classic rock band but Steve Miller is no doubt right at the top. Growing up in the 70's in a family of seven kids I heard it all. My two older sisters on one end of the house cranked up Elton John and Disco. My two oldest brothers on the other end of the house cranked up Steve Miller, Boston, Led Zep, Allman Brothers, Electric Light, Super Tramp, you name it. Middle brother Dave cranked Elvis and Styx in the 80's? WTH Dave? Dad listened to Cash, Waylon, Neil Diamond and Kenny Rogers. My bed room was right in the middle of all of this and to this day I love all of it, yes, even some of the disco! One of my brothers must of listened to this tune at least ten times a day back then. I never get tired of it!
