Trying hard to be serious for a moment (and struggling) - Nice score there Tim love to see some more pics of the whole family of D's Seriously doubt that - like a new year's resolution, how long will you stick to it? For my part I can only claim a double 'C' at the moment though I'm working on a 'D' Given the 'double entendre' that's taken off in the thread I'm surprised that nobody's owned up to having a vertical shaft tucked away somewhere. They showed up this morning wanting to search the mobile home behind my house. It turns out ya can't tell em NO. Man these guys are thorough. I snapped this pic about two hours into their search. They still hadn't found anything, but were still looking. That's really my son. We started the trailer demo this weekend. Here's a few more pics...

I'm not sure on the 6-12 ags as there really not alot of tire there. I want to do this to my 1045 with the dual ags. But I did fill a set of 23x10.5s and thinking it was around 7-8 gallons. I was gonna use windshield washer fluid, but only goes down to 10-20 degrees. I ended up using straight antifreeze and adding water. check this site out, tells you how much and what they weigh. Click on "info" then "tractor tire liquid ballast". http://www.tractorsmart.com/enter.htm

You bet there will be a video Terry. Danny's birthday is Friday, and that's when he will officially be given the tractor, and I will take a video then, and maybe I can barrow a better video camera from a friend. The camera I have takes less than spectacular videos. One way or another you guys will get to see footage of the happiest kid in the world on his shinny new errr really old tractor. I'm not sure who will be happier, Danny riding his tractor, or Daddy watching Danny ride his tractor! It will be a close call. My dad giving it to me was one of the most memorable experiences of my childhood! Martin I couldn't agree more! Say Craig, do you have kids? I'd like to see how you would hold up to the face of you child looking up at you, looking for some kind of reassurance that his tractor is going to be ok. Matt :flags-texas:

So long as you like it that is all that matters, no matter what you have you are always welcome here.. I'd love to see it all fixed up like new myself.

Vertical shaft tractors seem to be the red headed stepchild of Wheel Horse. I do admit to owning two (neither currently run) and while they are good lawn mowers they are not good for much else. Most WH fans typically want to do much more then mow with their tractors. They also tend to represent everything that went wrong with the industry, as in today you can not buy a good capable garden tractor that can mow, cultivate, plow, blow, tow, rototill, disk, haul, and on and on day in and day out for 30+ years. That is unless you want to spend big bucks and buy a subcompact tractor that is not very practical to the average hobby gardener and general person who just wants to do everything themselves and not pay through the nose to do it. Even the main competition to WH in the day (JD, Cub, ect.) no longer makes a capable garden tractor with a heavy duty ground engaging transmission and horizontal shaft engine.

I don't know about the trailer...but in the low rolling hills of northeast Ohio, it looks like it has great possibilities as a front porch. Here, hold my beer and watch this. :banana-rock: :orcs-cheers:

I have witnessed a DEA investigation. Some of you may remember. When I bought my house, it was called "the crack house on the hill" for a reason. After I closed on it, the ex girlfriend of the former owner would not leave. So I called the sherriff and said " can you get her out"? They told me they have been trying to get in there for years. They showed up with 5 deputies, 1 local cop, 2 DEA agents and 3 dogs. It was quite the spectacle. There were 6 squad cars and 2 suburbans in the driveway (good thing its 400' long). Officers and dogs milling around everywhere. They didn't find much of anything. But, the fortunate part was. They told me no Meth had been made here because the dogs would have went ballistic if there were. That was a big relief. But you know Jim, that sub frame might make one heck of a horse hauler. What do ya think? 30 maybe 35 tractors on one haul? I think you are gonna have to build a shed on that slab. And, get a bigger truck. :greetings-clappingyellow:

Umm...did I miss something, we are still talkin' about tractors, aren't we? :teasing-blah: :teasing-blah:

I prefer B's myself..much nicer to work with, and IMO much nicer looking. D's are a bit "too much of a good thing"..I have never been a believer in the "bigger is better" theory. If weight and gravity have too much influence, then you have gone too far.. B's are the best! Scot

I strongly recommend the use of POR-15 to paint the boton side of the deck. two coats and you will be good for at least three or four years. You can find POR-15 in the internet. This stuff is hard hard hard and will insure that no rust will get started from the underside.
