    Johnny on my 1975 I got one at the local Ace Hardware store.

    I believe it was a standard off the shelf threaded size that fits a lot of things.

    Search is over.  Found my gas cap in a toolbox drawer.   Apparently I put it away, somehow without even realizing.   👍.  Thank you for everyone for offering suggestions.

    I hate it when I do stuff like that.  You should probably continue to look for another gas cap just in case.

    Anyone know of an aftermarket replacement that isn't Toro money ?
