Workin_Horses 14 #1 Posted June 16, 2009 :thumbs2: I took my deck off the other day and the center grease zerk must have gotten knocked out somehow. I just greased it the previous week when I put it on... It's a 48"SD deck on my 1991 520H, does anyone know what thread size it should be? I was at the store to get a new zerk and thay had 1/4-28 size and a couple metric sizes. I bought the 1/4-28 figuring it would be american std size but I just want to double check before I mess up the threads.... can anyone confirm? Mattbg79 1 #2 Posted June 16, 2009 Just clean the hole out first with brake parts cleaner or something and give it a try, you'll know immediatly if it isnt the right size. I always turn bolts backwards at first so that they snap into the begenning of the threads before i tighten them, just a little trick that helps prevent them from starting crooked. gwgdog66 23 #3 Posted June 17, 2009 1/4 " x 28 thread is correct. I just replaced one on my center deck spindle, and that is what I used.
