Sparky-(Admin) 19,652 #1 Posted May 14, 2018 So I have a leg injury that’s keeping me outa work for a few days and out of a tractor seat . Had to get my son to get one of my tractors into mowing mode yesterday and today my 76 year old father is mowing my yard while I watch. He tags along to the WH Show with me but has no interest, just love going on “adventures”. His mower at home is a JD STX38, one of the littlest ride ons JD makes. This is his first time ever driving one of my Wheel Horses. 15

If Sparky was from Canada I would expect that. Nothing like a good ol lawn chair fire at the races at Oswego!

Hope you heal up quickly. I had to watch last year when the VA gave me an epidural injection and I wasn't allowed to even sit down in a car. My wife actually enjoys push mowing for some reason. She's a weirdo, though.

Ruptured my Achilles twice...acting like a teen! He was impressed! His JD is 14hp I think and the WH he used was 10hp (C-105) so he figured it was gonna be a struggle but the K241 never skipped a beat with that 42”SD deck. He still has a full house with property to care for but he and my mom are talking about selling it all and buying a condo. So talking him into owning a WH isn’t going to happen...heck...I might end up with his JD !!
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,345 #18 Posted May 15, 2018 Just setting the record straight here, a John Deere STX was the entry level lawn tractor from the late 80's to mid 90's, so it wasn't designed to be a garden tractor, plus it was the cheapest lawn tractor Deere made. A lot of them are still on the job today, just like most Wheel Horses, plus most JDs.
