upgrade to LED instrument bulbs

Recommended Posts

I've been switching all of the bulbs on my tractor to LED, in the interests of reducing the current draws in the loom (it's a 520... :P)

I got around to doing the instrument bulbs and have been impressed with the difference. I searched for the bulb type (233 T4W) which turned up quite a few bayonet-fitting types.

I opted for whatever was reasonably quick and cheap and ended up with these: 233 T4W on ebay

Swapping them over was a cinch and the LEDs are not only brighter but because they cast a much whiter light than the originals, the gauges are easier to see in all conditions.

Well worth the £1.60!

Just a little side note here, on the gauges with the red stripe, the LED’s work great. The older gauges like the Stewart Warner plain black face. You will not noticed much of a difference. The older gauges illuminate different.
