Thegearhead0324 1,209 #1 Posted January 10, 2018 I recently just purchased a 8-5551 hitch for my 1257. Do I have to trim the hood bracket on the bottom?
520hC-120 136 #2 Posted January 10, 2018 On all 5 of my s I don’t see any sort of trimming, and installing one on my 520 didn’t require anything it just went right on Hope it helps Nice cat 🐈

pfrederi 17,147 #6 Posted January 10, 2018 Bolted on to an Electro and a Charger and Lawn Ranger without mods. Have a problem with another charger. Wheel horse didn't center the hood hinge when they welded it to the frame, Welder must have had a hang over Nice Tuxedo

prondzy 3,867 #10 Posted January 11, 2018 Yes you are suppose to cut the hood brackets per the instructions that came with it.
Thegearhead0324 1,209 #11 Posted January 11, 2018 My next question I'm prolly just not seeing it but from the pic above where does that threaded angled rod go?
pfrederi 17,147 #12 Posted January 11, 2018 (edited) That is a replacement lift rod needed if your tractor ddin't have one It goes between the implement lift rock shaft and whatever mower deck, or plow you are lifting. Thegearhead0324 1,209 #13 Posted January 11, 2018 Ahh... that makes more sense now. I was looking all over the diagram for the front hitch thinking where does this go. Thank you for clearing that up.
