You paid way less than the price of a new box-store riding mower for a machine that will do much more work and last far longer. You're absolutely right when you noticed that the :wh: just "felt right" and ran better compared to cheaper/cheaper-made stuff.

:WRS: and welcome to the :wh: addiction! :happy-jumpgreen:

I used to cut 2 1/2 acres almost every weekend during the summers  at my grand mom's with a 312-8 back in the day.   A great tractor it is and for 500 not a bad deal.

Finally another Horseman in my neck of the woods!  I am building in Pilot Point, hah!

I, too, started with a 312-8 and they reproduced quite a bit over the last few years.

Welcome! Lots of help here. Shoot me a PM and we can swap contact info.

Welcome to the forum!  You came to the right place and I echo the sentiments of the guys above!  These tractors are highly addictive and I'm very impressed with the 300-500 series.  I'm so glad you didn't settle for a throw away tractor from a box store which would've cost you a lot more up front and down the stretch (not that you get much of a stretch from a throw away!) Glad you found us...
