C-160 PTO manual clutch repair

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me how the spring and thrust bearings are positioned in a C-160 pto?  Mine was in pieces when I took it apart to replace the outer bearing.

If you replace the outer stub shaft the bearing is on with a later version that uses a snap ring on each side of the bearing you can eliminate all the inner pieces. This allows the bearing to pull the pto hub out when in the OFF position rather than the inner bits pushing it out.

Item 33 is the stub shaft and 34 are the two snap rings required.

The original inner pieces

Great, thank you. I unfortunately did order a new stub shaft but it's probably the old style since I went by the Mod./SN but I know what to get now. Thank you!  Should have joined up sooner.  Just found the Red Square sight.

I'm not too far away from you in Ohio south of Dixon if you need help . These things are pretty simple and very tough , download the manual for yours in the manual section and go at it ....
