Evening all,

As the title suggests I'm interested in knowing what model this tractor is.

wheelhorseunknown.JPG

I have an idea but am seeking confirmation.   Is it a good buy?    The seller says:

Welcome to our Auction of a

Vintage Wheel Horse ??? . (Re-listed due to idiots who make bogus bids 😡)

This is the model that every one wants but no one can seem to get !

The Wheel Horse ??? was working the last time it was used. But unfortunately it has lost its drive belt and it will need a fresh battery !

So is being sold a seen !

All four wheels are in great condition.

This is a collectible item but will need restoration, a great project for an enthusiast

Thanks in advance of all your ideas.

Chris

Looks like maybe an 8HP.  $50-$100   Not everyone wants that model .... I don't!

8hp?  Can you expand?    Why would you not want one?   I'm UK based if it changes things!

Looks like a 70's C or B series, can't really tell from the photo, + someone destroyed it with black spray paint.

It's nothing "special" but it's a good tractor none the less.

I would give it some love...

Motor looks to be "squarish" meaning someone might have put a Command in it & that rules out 8 HP. Hard to tell with the pictures given. Definitely  not the original motor. Any side shots of the motor?

It definitely looks like an 8hp but not the original, looks like it could be a commando 800 or an 800 special but it seems there is a few parts missing.

It has a small flywheel like a Kohler 8HP.

But that muffler ... Briggs or Tecumseh.

And it is on a riser plate.

I don't want "that" one ...... I've got one!

Something broken on the PTO loop.

Bracket for the missing PTO brake looks kinda high.

One shift lever.... no low range.  Like a Commando 800.

I would buy it but not for more than $100.

Does this look like it?

Thanks guys.

They claim its a 800 but don't say which version.   Its currently on at £170 uk - which is cheap for what they go for here.

She's a little ugly-duckling .

Mine was an hideous / buck-toothed mess when I brought her home .
