Need help dating my 312-8

Recommended Posts

Jayd513

I have come across a 312-8 wheel horse with a great running 12hp Kohler Magnum. The tractor is a lil ruff but runs like a top and has a deck with it. I bought it and need to get a belt for the blades to work the one that goes from the motor and runs to the front pulley and then deck. I can post a few pics ig necessary. I would like to know what year this tractor is so I can grab a few parts for it any help is very much appreciated.

You have a 1990 there. :)

Here's your parts list. Head to the manuals section here for other manuals.

About the title of your post...I'm thinking you'll fit right in on this forum since it might appear to the casual observer that many of us are actually "dating" our WH's...

I know this isn't the best one and honestly think I over payed cause I gave 300. I just had to have this thing. I am a  compulsive buyer.

Daddy WH: "You will not date anything that is green! Do you hear me young lady!!!"

Daughter WH: "But Daddy, he comes from a good family...They plow for farmers in someplace called Iowa..."

Daddy WH: "I don't care what they say - Unless they come from Pond Stock - I'll have none of it!

Daughter WH: "Oh Daddy! You're such an old tractor!"

Daddy WH: "Why yes, thank you...Old and best..."

When you go to download the TIPL (Toro illustrated parts list) that

linked you to you will see one of the files is named

Tractor 1990 312-8 31-12K801 Engine TIPL.pdf

That will show you all the parts that are required.

Jayd513 you honestly won't find a nicer, more helpful group of people anywhere.  Lots of knowledge mixed with a lot of fun.  By the way, :WRS:!
