JAinVA 4,619 #2 Posted January 1, 2016 That Horizon doesn't look like it ever spent a winter in PA,especially now that they seem to use calcium cloride up that way.The 310-8 looks pretty good too.Sure is in better shape than mine.Luck,JAinVA Jim

squonk 38,936 #4 Posted January 1, 2016 Great, now I'm going to have nightmares after seeing that car. I had a binder 2" thick with just the carb service bulletins on that model. And don't get me started on the water leaks!
Racinbob 10,281 #5 Posted January 1, 2016 I like! Our oldest daughter was born on the day they introduced the Horizon/Omni. Because of that she got a savings bond from them. Looks to be in great condition. Love the tractor too.
Ed Kennell 35,782 #6 Posted January 1, 2016 Ya got me. I was expecting a Center County sunset picture. My youngest sons first car was a $50 beater Horizon. He kept it running during his High school years with 2 rolls of duct tape and a spool of baling wire.

USHorse 41 #21 Posted January 1, 2016 My highschool girlfriends parents had a Horizon which I snickered at as it was never running properly. When asked "Well what kind of car do I have" I told them I drove a '76 vette. That kept them quiet for a few weeks until they saw the '76 Chevette. Thats when they began to like me!!!!! Lol

boovuc 1,090 #24 Posted January 2, 2016 As we discussed, Squonk, nobody ever made a carb like that and if they did, they would have been brought up on treason charges! The floorboards on both sides of the front compartment have been re-plated! (When the frame was repaired in 5 places). And once when we had the whole steering rack off of it. The rear tires on the 310-8 are DeeStones. There are several repairs to trim and bumpers that are engineered with epoxy puddy. Oh and the rear-view mirror stayed on it for the 8 mile trip back to it's home garage. This despite a wicked wobble at 70 MPH on Route 220. (20 miles an hour under what my mother would top it out at). She always says it runs better after I drive it.

You brought back bad memories of the non-stop carb issues I married into with my wife's Horizon 27.5 years ago...junk...would not drive in the Canadian Rockies and the mechanic in Banff said he saw them DAILY at his shop with carb issues...Only car worse was the Dodge minivan with the transmission from the netherworld and a company that three times said they "have no issues with our minivan transmissions"!!! Will never own a Chrysler product again.
