WD-40?! Anyone?

Recommended Posts

Fire_fighter625

These rims cleaned up well!!! I couldn't believe it! Just some WD-40 and fine steel wool. I took it a step further and used a rag and sprayed a little on my motor and hood of my newly purchased 857 for $300 (that runs like a top). Anyways, shined that red motor case right up!! Any cons to using this on the old, original paint? Not wanting to mess with the antique bumps and Knicks so I'm not restoring, just going to clean it up.

Had to start somewhere. After 2 years of buying selling and trading, this is what I've got.

Last picture lol. I used New Holland red after priming and sanding certain spots on this deck. I've found NH Red (by Majic at TSC) to be an exact match for me. You can't even tell where I touched up.

I've never had an issue with it, AMC. I did leave it set to cure a few days before I touched it. No problems. Now, I'm just needing new deck wheel for 2 decks I have.

WHX??

Can't believe WD cleaned the caps up like that!
Problem here Fire Fighter is.... most guys hereare such addicts......myself included......  can't go a few minutes no less than days with out touching it!! :kbutt:

Deck wheels should be an easy find at a dealer.

Tuneup

Can after can of that stuff at $1.99 with some real fine steel wool and it cleans everything but it's about $5 a freaking can!!! I got a gallon and a spray bottle once and had fun for a year. WD is light kerosene anyway. I'm using old red kero now. Great stuff.
