PTO Brake

Recommended Posts

Was wondering if anyone out their has made their own pto brake shoe. If so how did you attach pad to metal holder? I am in process of making own pad from a car disc shoe, and wondering if their is a adhesive that will bond them together. Like to stay away from rivets if I can THANKS in advance for help :confusion-helpsos:

I gave some leftover brake lining material to a fellow member here last year so that he could re-line his PTO brake. I will try to remember who it was, and see how he attached it, and how it is working.

Okay, here is the post:

Where does one find brake lining material?

You can buy it from McMaster & Carr, but one piece (12" long) and shipping would cost more than a new brake pad assembly.

PM me with your address and I will send you a piece the size you need. I get several "left-overs" from my brake linings when I cut them.

Yes, rivets worked for me with material from McMaster.  Head of brass rivet recessed in

the brake material.
