Automatic transmission hydro

Recommended Posts

Jakeshorsetuff

Has anyone else had a problem with the automatic transmission.  was plowing driveway the other day went to back out of  pile and transmission does  not work anymore.  Can only get tractor to move about 4 feet forward and 4 feet backwards now.  Could no longer get transmission in neutral either had to tow it with a sled to get back in garage as wheels would not spin.  Any suggestions before I break it down

Thanks

Make sure that you don't have a wheel hub that has lost it's woodruff key and is spinning on the axle.

no missing keys I have removed the wheels and hubs to test and can only get axles to spin halfway in each direction and then they stop

It sounds like you dropped a differential bolt. Time for a tear down. Do not try to drive it or you will have bigger problems like a broken case.

i agree you probably lost a differential bolt causing the rear to lock. not a super bad job to pull rear out and take apart and fix, not easy but not impossible either.
